Assessment of III-V FinFETs at 20nm Node: A Process Variation Analysis
AbstractThe endless miniaturization of Si based MOSFETs has the key for driving the electronic revolution. However, scaling of the channel length is the enormous challenge to preserve the performance in terms of speed, power and electrostatic integrity at each technology nodes. Subsequently all researchers have been analyzing new device materials and architectures to fix this challenge. After continuous development in the areas of devices and materials have lastly conveyed III-V MOSFETs with high channel mobility. This paper is a discussion about the impact of fin height (HFin) and fin width (WFin) of a GaAs-FinFET, which affect the reliability of the device in view of various performance measures. A detailed analysis about the impact of geometry parameters like (HFin) and (WFin) on the static or low frequency performances like threshold voltage (Vth), on-off ratio (Ion/Ioff), power dissipation, subthreshold slope (SS), transconductance (gm), early voltage (VEA), gain (AV) and dynamic or high frequency performances as gate capacitance (Cgg), cut-off frequency (fT), delay (CV/I), energy (CV2), energy delay product (EDP) are systematically presented
Hot Nuclear Matter in Asymmetry Chiral Sigma Model
In the frame work of SU(2) chiral sigma model, the nuclear matter properties
at zero and finite temperature have been investigated. We have analyzed the
nuclear matter equation of state by varying different parameters, which agrees
well with the one derived from the heavy-ion collision experiment at extreme
densities and reliable realistic(DBHF) model at low density region. We have
then calculated the temperature dependent asymmetric nuclear matter, also
investigated the critical temperature of liquid gas phase transition and
compared with the experimental data. We found that the critical temperature in
our model is in the range of 14-20 MeV.Comment: 21 pages, 10 figures, to be published in Nuclear Physics
Assessment of theoretical correlations for prediction of pressure drop across spacer
Paper presented at the 9th International Conference on Heat Transfer, Fluid Mechanics and Thermodynamics, Malta, 16-18 July, 2012.The present paper discusses the prediction of pressure drop
across spacer both by employing a set of correlations proposed
by Rehme (1973) and a theoretical model. The theoretical
model considers the sum of expansion, contraction and friction
losses at the spacer. The results obtained by the theoretical
model indicate that the pressure drop is strongly dependent on
the flow area ratio and the length of the spacer as well. In
addition, the pressure loss coefficient is found to decrease with
the Reynolds number. It is observed that the pressure drop
correlation does not take into account the length of the spacer
and predicts a lower value of pressure loss coefficient
compared to the theoretical model.dc201
Rematuration of Spent Macrobrachium rosenbergii Female Broodstock through Dietary Manipulation and Eyestalk Ablation
The single or combined effects of artificial feed and eyestalk ablation on gonadal maturation of spent Macrobrachium rosenbergii female brooders was studied in 48 females. Significant differ- ences in percent weight gain, food conversion ratio, specific growth rate, gonado-somatic index, number of molts, molting interval, and ovarian development stages were observed. The highest numbers of molts and shortest molting intervals were found in eyestalk-ablated groups while higher percent weight gains were obtained in non-ablated groups. Groups fed formulated feed registered lower percent weight gains and higher FCRs than groups fed natural feed (clam and squid meat). Females in immature stages were found only in non-ablated groups while the only ovigerous females were found in the ablated group fed formulated feed. In short, unilateral eye- stalk ablation together with properly formulated feed (46.1% crude protein) could induce gonad maturation of spent female Macrobrachium rosenbergii brooders during the non-monsoon sea- son
Ethnobotanical study of medicinal plants in the coastal districts of Odisha
Ethnobotanical study was carried out in the coastal districts of Odisha during 2010-2011 to document the medicinal utility of plants. The present paper deals with traditional uses of 46 plant species belonging to 44 genera and 32 families along with correct botanical identification, local names, parts used and mode of administration in respect to different diseases. The documented ethnomedicinal plants are mostly used to cure skin diseases, diarrhoea, jaundice, piles and urinary troubles
Quark Hadron Phase Transition and Hybrid Stars
We investigate the properties of hybrid stars consisting of quark matter in
the core and hadron matter in outer region. The hadronic and quark matter
equations of state are calculated by using nonlinear Walecka model and chiral
colour dielectric (CCD) model respectively. We find that the phase transition
from hadron to quark matter is possible in a narrow range of the parameters of
nonlinear Walecka and CCD models. The transition is strong or weak first order
depending on the parameters used. The EOS thus obtained, is used to study the
properties of hybrid stars. We find that the calculated hybrid star properties
are similar to those of pure neutron stars.Comment: 25 pages in LaTex and 9 figures available on request, IP/BBSR/94-3
Synthesis and Characterization of Multiwalled Carbon Nanotubes (MWCNTs) Dispersed ZnS Based Photocatalytic Activity
Zinc Sulfide (ZnS) based photocatalytic activity has been focused in solar hydrogen production and water treatment process because to their very strong redox reaction. Due to wide visible light range, ZnS becomes a promising semiconductor in formation of photocatalysts. The bandgap energies (Eg) of all prepared
samples ZnS NCs and MWCNTs/ZnS nanocomposites were evaluated and Methylene Blue (MB) degradation study occurring of ZnS NCs and MWCNTs/ZnS nanocomposites were evaluated under visible light using UV-visible spectroscopy. The author found that removal rate of MB is greater than 95 percentage in
the presence of MWCNTs/ZnS composites photocatalysts after 50 min. Crystalline grain size and structure
of photocatalyst were characterized by X-ray Diffraction (XRD) spectroscopy. The enhancement of photocatalytic activity can be associated by many factors like a suitable band gap in visible region, crystalline
structure of nanocomposites and particle size in nanometer (nm) of the MWCNTs/ZnS nanocomposites.
The suitable photocatalytic reaction and mechanisms of MB degradation also included in this article
Multi-wavelength fiber laser with erbium doped zirconia fiber and semiconductor optical amplifier
Multi-wavelength hybrid fiber lasers are demonstrated in both ring and linear cavities using a fabricated Erbium-doped Zirconia fiber (EDZF) and semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) as gain media. In both configurations, the a fiber loop mirror, which is constructed using a 3 m long polarization maintaining fiber (PMF) and a polarization insensitive 3dB coupler is used as a comb filter for the fiber laser. In the ring cavity, 10 simultaneous lines with peak power above -26 dBm is obtained at 1550 nm region. This is an improvement compared to the linear cavity configuration which has only 5 simultaneous lines observed from wavelength 1556.1 nm to 1563.0 nm with the peak power above -40 dBm. Both hybrid lasers has a constant line spacing of 1.7 nm, which is suitable for wavelength division multiplexing and sensing applications and shows a stable operation at room temperature
