The article deals with the analysis of what we have previously called «Literatura Edificante de Postguerra» (Postwar Ennobling Literature). It is a type of specific literal)' production, part of a broader are of religious character, characterized by its objective of spreading the official speech of the church hierarchy of that time. Precisely, the historical reference induded in the name of this literature, is justified by the fact that it Hes within the context of a socializing offensive of the traditional catholicism which will take place, during the spanish potswar period in a tangible and lasting form. Nevertheless, we are dealing with a fact which is not exclusively spanish as it can be seen in the works of the great number of authors from other western catholic countries. The authors, by the way, will get little consideration from a literature defined as an instrument in the service of the trc1nsmission of a message. In its tum, the message will focus its attention on a procreation orientated sexuality, and therefore it is not surprising, that it is a literature part.icularly addressed to women and youth who are going to be its main readers or, hetter said, buyers. The special features of the L.E.P. will finally be a strong symbol of identification and communication.

What has happened since the last time we saw each other?': methodological challenges in an unplanned longitudinal qualitative investigation into binational couples in Spain

Based on the experience derived from a 12-year research process (2006-2018) on mixed couples undertaken by a team of social researchers and financed by the Spanish Science, Technology and Innovation System, we discuss how our practice and our process of constructing results reinforce, but also qualify and modify, some aspects of classical ethnographic theory and Qualitative Longitudinal Research. Given the difficulties of securing funding for long-term projects in a context of short-term contract funding, and the importance of longitudinal methodology for understanding phenomena associated with migrant populations, we had no choice but to resort to the 'ethnographical imagination'. In doing so, the fundamental question we address is: how can a longitudinal study be carried out on the basis of projects that were not originally designed with that end in mind and within the framework of a research environment determined by the standardised guidelines of a National Research Plan

This paper focuses on a specific kind of migration we call migration for love, which arose in the 1990s as a result of the emergence of the new world order characterized by the increasing role of ICTs. Exploring the migration projects of women who have migrated out of love reveals the complexity and diversity of migratory situations given that it uncovers the existence of motivations for migration that go beyond the model of economic causality attributed to migration. Love, the desire to raise a family on arrival, and emancipation are among the reasons given by women when explaining their decision to migrate. The field work, which mainly comprised more than 70 interviews of couples in a mixed marriage of Spanish men to Slavic or Latin American women has shown that the migration projects of women who migrate for love exhibit particular features which are explored in the article. The individualized nature of migration, the low intensity of transnational relations maintained by the migrant women, the absence of a project to return, and the process of integration of these women into the host society, in spite of being more convenient, lead them to eventually consolidate a situation of dependency on their partners

The conditions of knowledge production have changed substantially in recent times. These changes have significantly affected ethnographic research, traditionally marked by its individual character and flexible in its approach and implementation. In this article we intend to document some of these changes and impacts on the ethnographic method in the course of a long-term research on love migrations and mixed couples through different competitive and funded research projects. We especially focus our attention on the use of information sources and methodological arrangements to make possible to continue doing ethnography in current circumstance

Knowledge, attitudes, behavioral and organizational factors of health professions students for a competent smoking cessation practice: An instrument adaptation and psychometric validation study in Spanish and English samples

Background: To improve smoking cessation, training of health professions students is essential. However, no specific instrument is available to assess factors that may affect students' learning about smoking cessation practice. Aim: To adapt and validate the Knowledge, Attitudes, Behaviors and Organization questionnaire in the population of undergraduate health professions students. Design: Methodological research. Methods: The researchers conducted this study with 511 Spanish and 186 English health professions students from four different universities. We used a four-step approach: 1) adaptation of the items to the target population and validation of the content by a panel of experts; 2) a pilot study to test face validity; 3) linguistic adaptation of the Spanish version to English; and 4) the psychometric assessment based on construct validity, criterion validity and internal consistency. Results: Exploratory factor analysis revealed four subscales for the Spanish version, namely ‘Individual knowledge and skills’, ‘Individual attitudes and beliefs’, ‘Organizational support’ and ‘Organizational resources’, which accounted for 85.1% of the variance. Confirmatory factor analysis in the holdout Spanish and English samples revealed adequate goodness-of-fit values, supporting the factor structure. Hypotheses testing demonstrated significant differences by capacitation in smoking cessation interventions and degree courses, providing further evidence regarding construct validity. All the subscales correlated positively with the criterion variables (5 A’s smoking cessation model), except for the ‘Organizational resources’ subscale, which was not significantly correlated with the 5 A's. The overall Cronbach’s alpha was.83 for the Spanish version and.88 for the English one. Conclusions: Our results provide empirical support for the use of the Knowledge, Attitudes, Behaviors and Organization questionnaire for Students as a reliable and valid instrument to assess knowledge, attitudes, behaviors and organization perceptions in health professions students, which is essential for competent smoking cessation practice. Interestingly, ‘Organizational resources’ subscale presented the lowest correlations among factors and did not correlate with any component of the 5 A's, suggesting the need of enhancing students' responsibility and involvement during their internships, as well as the interest of some organizations
