In most sensitive occupations such as nuclear, military and chemical industries closed circuit systems and visual display terminals (VDTs) are used to carefully control and assess sensitive processes. Visual fatigue is one of the factors decreasing accuracy and concentration in operators causing faulty perception. This study aimed to find out a relationship between visual fatigue symptoms (VFS) of Flicker value variations in video display terminal (VDT) operators. This cross-sectional study, conducted in 2011, aimed to examine visual fatigue and determine the relationship between its symptoms and visual flicker value changes in 248 operators of VDTs in several occupations. The materials used in this study were a visual fatigue questionnaire of VDTs and a VFM-90.1 device. Visual fatigue was measured in two stages (prior to beginning to work and 60 min later). The data were analyzed by SPSS11.5, using descriptive statistics, paired t-test, simple and multiple linear regressions, correlation and recognition coefficients. Then regression equations of changes in flicker value depending on the changes in the main domains and the changes in final score before the questionnaire were obtained. Paired t-test indicated significant differences in the mean score of visual fatigue symptoms and the mean score of flicker value between the two stages, respectively (P ≤ 0.001). Simple and multiple regressions of flicker value variations, for the last visual fatigue changes in questionnaire score and the four main domains of the questionnaire were obtained R2 = 0.851 and R2 = 0.853, respectively. Correlation coefficient in the above tests indicated reverse and significant relationships among flicker value changes with changes in questionnaire score and visual fatigue symptoms. Diagnosing the first symptoms of visual fatigue could be an appropriate warning for VDTs operators in sensitive occupations to react suitably, in behavior and management, to control or treat visual fatigue and prevent errors efficiently

People make decisions in their daily life that are based on predictions made about the future. In fact, we are all trying to make a connection between two or more variables in a way that could be used for prediction. Profit and cash flow in a private profit making unit make the most fundamental part of information and are the base of most financial information users’ decision making. And judgments and profit making prediction have always been one of the interesting subjects for financial information users, because correct estimation of these figures can play an important role in making the correct decisions (Jahankhani and Saffarian, 2003). Investors buy assets hoping that their expected return over the next period is achieved efficiently. These returns can be predicted, however, it may not be the expected return. In fact, one can predict the profit-making trend of a company by analyzing the previous trend and studying some of the economic variables. However, actual happenings are different from the numbers and data achieved in predictions. The roots of most of these differences lie in the variability of criteria that are the basis for predictive models (Azad, 2004)

Historical houses in Qajar era are among the most significant works of that time which represent specific features of that time having a close relationship with daily life of people. The houses are important for their plans and architectural spaces and they are also culturally and aesthetically unique because they contain many decoration and elements which are treasures of art and handicrafts.  In this development, research was conducted in a library. Here motifs used in Haj Agha Ali house have been categorized after analysis and comparison. In fact, decoration is an integral part of traditional architecture in Iran as they show the type of using space and they also represent the dominant mind set of that time. Qajar art as occasion served was exposed with western elements and reacted upon them. The result of such reaction in architectural decoration is that in many cases imported elements are created with traditional elements in an associated combination. Although in some cases, the full unity is not the case but generally, the artists of that time could get to a general unity in architectural decorations with a combination of different cultural elements. Because there have been no comprehensive studies about the decorations of the house, the present study can introduce aesthetics features and concepts and open the doors of modern plans for the younger generations

Designing a Step-by-Step User Interface for Finding Provenance Information over Linked Data

Abstract. The proliferation of the use of Linked Data, and growth of Linked Open Data (LOD) cloud provide a good environment for interrelating previously isolated datasets. To encourage non-professional users to publish and find their required data easily, a good user interface is needed. Also, as users want to reach trustworthy or more up-to-date information in Linked Data, they would like to have access to the provenance data, as well. In this paper, a new method is presented that not only offers an easy interface for searching data in LOD cloud, but also provides provenance information of data

A hybrid model of QFD, SERVQUAL and KANO to increase bank's capabilities

In global market, factors such as precedence of competitors extending shave on market, promoting quality of services and identifying customers' needs are important. This paper attempts to identify strategic services in one of the biggest governmental banks in Iran called Melli bank for getting competition merit using Kano and SERVQUAL compound models and to extend operation quality and to provide suitable strategies. The primary question of this paper is on how to introduce high quality services in this bank. The proposed model of this paper uses a hybrid of three quality-based methods including SERVQUAL, QFD and Kano models. Statistical society in this article is all clients and customers of Melli bank who use this banks' services and based on random sampling method, 170 customers were selected. The study was held in one of provinces located in west part of Iran called Semnan. Research findings show that Melli banks' customers are dissatisfied from the quality of services and to solve this problem the bank should do some restructuring to place some special characteristics to reach better operation at the heed of its affairs. The characteristics include, in terms of their priorities, possibility of transferring money by sale terminal, possibility of creating wireless pos, accelerating in doing bank works, getting special merits to customers who use electronic services, eliminating such bank commission, solving problems in least time as disconnecting system, possibility of receiving foreign exchange by ATM and suitable parking in city

A national school-based screening program for mental health problems among children aged 6 to 12 years in Iran:scale development and psychometric evaluation

Schools are an ideal setting in which to measure and promote mental health difficulties. The aim of present study was to develop the Nemad Electronic Mental-Health Assessment Devices for Children (NEMAD-C) aged 6 to 12 years in Iran. A sample of parents and teachers (N = 10,163) were recruited to complete the parent and teacher reports. Totally, explorative and confirmatory factor analyses showed that the eight-factor model provides a better fit for both parental report and teacher report versions. Results revealed a screening tool consisting of eight dimensions: child abuse risk, self-harm, anxiety, depression, disruptive behavior disorders, attention deficit/hyperactivity disorders, academic achievement deficit, and self-regulation. Findings showed that the internal consistency coefficients of the subscales were high, and convergent validity was evidenced by significant correlations with theoretically related constructs. Therefore, the NEMAD-C has adequate reliability and validity and could be used for multi-dimensional assessment of mental health problems in Iran
