Motivational theories applied to assess EI programs: the EMOCARE’s Systematic Evaluation Model
Financial resources invested in treatment programs in Hospitals are limited; programs that work with the mental illness caregivers are not an exception. To prioritize those who will be included in programs is by establishing factors criteria: cognitive level, urgency, motivation to participate, intention to change and commitment to change. This chapter explores the adequacy of the EMOCARE’s Systematic Evaluation Model as a protocol to ensure that EMOCARE improves caregivers’ well-being as part of their education in Emotional Intelligence. The methodology follows a quasi-experimental pre-post design with two groups, one of them is a quasi-control group carried out during April to May of 2014. Sample size is 15 patients from the Sant Joan de Déu Hospital (Barcelona, Spain)-, 10 of them part of the experimental group (EG) -they attended the EMOCARE program for two months-. Results are discussed along with the theoretical framework, remarking EMOCARE’s Systematic Evaluation Model is adequate to assess the efficacy and effectiveness of the program; as well as EMOCARE improves caregivers’ well-being in terms of their satisfaction with life (Diener, Emmons, Larsen, & Griffin, 1985)

Density operator of a system pumped with polaritons: A Jaynes-Cummings like approach
We investigate the effects of considering two different incoherent pumpings
over a microcavity-quantum dot system modelled using the Jaynes-Cummings
Hamiltonian. When the system is incoherently pumped with polaritons it is able
to sustain a large number of photons inside the cavity with Poisson-like
statistics in the stationary limit, and also leads to a separable
exciton-photon state. We also investigate the effects of both types of pumpings
(Excitonic and Polaritonic) in the emission spectrum of the cavity. We show
that the polaritonic pumping as considered here is unable to modify the
dynamical regimes of the system as the excitonics pumping does. Finally, we
obtain a closed form expression for the negativity of the density matrices that
the quantum master equation considered here generates.Comment: 16 pages, 4 figure
The El Guijo Pluton: petrology, geochemistry, age and relation to others rocks of Los Pedroches batholith
Finalmente, se discuten sus relaciones y significado en el contexto general del batolito de Los Pedroches.[Abstract] The El Guijo pluton belongs to a group of centred, acidic plutons which intrude the ranodiorites making the most part of the Pedroches Batholith central and western thirds. It has a sub-elliptical shape and shows a centripetal zonation which ranges between marginal, biotite-bearing porphyritic granitic facÍes (locally intruding porphyritic micro-adamellites) and central cordierite -bearing leucogranites (± muscovite). They collectively define a peraluminous association with a neat calcalkaline evolution. The results of a Rb-Sr whole-rock study are presented. These define a 300 ±6 Ma age isochron with (87 Sr/86 Sr) o = 0.704. Finally, its relationships with, and its significance in the context of the overall Pedroches Batholith are discused
¿Es eficaz la formación en la Administración pública española?: Evaluación de la transferencia de los aprendizajes con el modelo FET
Is training in Spanish Public Administration effective?: evaluation of transfer of learning using the FET model». This paper analyses the efficacy of the continuous training attended by the Spanish public administration employees, in terms of learning transfer at the work- place. The analysis was conducted using the FET (Factors to Evaluate Transfer) model. Two questionnaires were applied to 1.148 trainees of training actions organized by four Spanish public administration schools; the data analysis included testing hypothesis and multiple regression models. Main results demonstrate that learning transfer is related to factors of the training and workplace context, and not to variables related to trainees’ profile
Insights into the room temperature magnetism of ZnO/Co3O4 mixtures
The origin of room temperature (RT) ferromagneticlike behavior in ZnO-based
diluted magnetic semiconductors is still an unclear topic. The present work
concentrates on the appearance of RT magnetic moments in just mixed ZnO/Co3O4
mixtures without thermal treatment. In this study, it is shown that the
magnetism seems to be related to surface reduction of the Co3O4 nanoparticles,
in which, an antiferromagnetic Co3O4 nanoparticle (core) is surrounded by a
CoO-like shell. This singular superficial magnetism has also been found in
other mixtures with semiconductors such as TiO2 and insulators such as Al2O3
Geant4 simulations of the neutron production and transport in the n TOF spallation target
The neutron production and transport in the spallation target of the n TOF facility at CERN has been simulated with Geant4. The results obtained with the different hadronic Physics Lists provided by Geant4 have been compared
with the experimental neutron flux in n TOF-EAR1. The best overall Agreement in both the absolute value and the energy dependence of the flux from thermal to 1GeV, is obtained with the INCL++ model coupled with the Fritiof Model(FTFP).
This Physics List has been thus used to simulate and study the main features of the new n TOF-EAR2 beam line, currently in its commissioning phase
Structure and Expression of Bud Dormancy-Associated MADS-Box Genes (DAM) in European Plum
Bud dormancy in temperate perennials ensures the survival of growing meristems under the harsh environmental conditions of autumn and winter, and facilitates an optimal growth and development resumption in the spring. Although the molecular pathways controlling the dormancy process are still unclear, DORMANCY-ASSOCIATED MADS-BOX genes (DAM) have emerged as key regulators of the dormancy cycle in different species. In the present study, we have characterized the orthologs of DAM genes in European plum (Prunus domestica L.). Their expression patterns together with sequence similarities are consistent with a role of PdoDAMs in dormancy maintenance mechanisms in European plum. Furthermore, other genes related to dormancy, flowering, and stress response have been identified in order to obtain a molecular framework of these three different processes taking place within the dormant flower bud in this species. This research provides a set of candidate genes to be genetically modified in future research, in order to better understand dormancy regulation in perennial species
