    Many young athletes have undernourished nutritional status, lack of knowledge, and improperselection of nutritional intake. It has an impact on the success of athletes when conducting games.One of the contributing factors is the suboptimal use of educational media for athletes.Educational media, Cakram is one of the alternative media that needs to be developed and appliedto young athletes. Cakram Asupan Makan dan Cairan Atlet (CAMCA) is an educational mediainnovation that makes it easier for athletes. This study aims to analyze the level of mediaacceptance of Cakram Asupan Makan dan Cairan Atlet (CAMCA) conducted on experts in thefield of Sports Nutrition as a solution to athletes' health independence, especially optimizing thenutritional status of adolescent athletes. This research was a quantitative descriptive study. Thisresearch began with the manufacture and development of cakram by looking at the level ofacceptance of Cakram Asupan Makan dan Cairan Atlet (CAMCA) media by experts in the field ofSports Nutrition.     Efek minuman kombinasi maltodekstrin dan vitamin C terhadap VO2maks atlet sepak bola

    Background: VO2max is one of win determiner in a game. Athletes receive training to improve technical skills, tactical skills, and physiology functions that can support the improvement of VO2max, so they can improve their achievement. Maltodextrin and vitamin C can be used as an ingredient for beverage products which can improve VO2max. Objective: To assess the effect of maltodextrin and vitamin C combination drink on VO2max in soccer athletes. Method: Type of this study was experimental design with the same subject design. The study was conducted from January 2014 until June 2014 at Culinary Laboratory Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) and Stadium of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY). Subjects of this study were 14 soccer players coming from Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY). Every subject had to fulfill the inclusion and exclusion criteria, and the subjects were chosen by purposive sampling. In the first treatment, subjects received the combination drink―a drink with a composition 15% of maltodextrin and 250 mg of vitamin C in 300 mL. After 6 days washout period, subjects received 300 mL plain water. Drinks were given 30 minutes before VO2max test. VO2max test method used in this study was yo-yo intermittent recovery test level 2 (IR-2). Results: VO2max when subjects consumed maltodextrin and vitamin C combination drink was significantly lower than VO2max when athletes consumed plain water (p=0,0000). Conclusion: Maltodextrin and vitamin C combination drink was less effective than plain water to enhance VO2max

    Dietary fiber and carboydrate contents of gathotan and gathot as functional food for people with diabetes mellitus

    Background : Gathotan and gathot are Indonesian cassava traditional fermented food from Gunungkidul, Yogyakarta. These fermented foods may be considered as an important component of a functional-foods based diet for management of type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM). Previous study found that gathotan and gathot hadve low glycemic index (GI). Fermentation processed using fungi and bacteria hadve potency to give many beneficial effects, such as prebiotic that gives contribution on the forming of short chain fatty acid (SCFA). SCFA gives many beneficial effects on metabolism and prognosis on DM type 2. However, there have been no study on the potency of gathotan and gathot as dietary fiber sources.Objectives: This study was designed to examine carbohydrate and dietary fiber content in gathotan and gathot as functional food for people with DM.Methods: Gathotan was made by spontaneous fermentation. Gathot was made by soaking overnight of gathotan, then steaming and drying. Carbohydrates content was calculated by using “carbohydrate by diference” method. Dietary fiber content was analyzed by using enzymatic gravimetri method.Results: The highest carbohydrate content was found in cassava (81,13%), followed by gathotan (68,32%), and gathot (39,03%), respectively. The highest dietary fiber content was found in gathot (17,36%), followed by gathotan (14%), and cassava (8,61%) respectively.Conclusions: Fermentation process of cassava to be gathotan and gathot are potential to increase dietary fiber and decrease carbohydrate content. KEYWORDS: gathotan, gathot, functional food, diabetes mellitus

    Peningkatan Pengetahuan tentang Pemilihan Makanan untuk Manajemen Cedera pada Atlet Sepak Bola Junior di PS Sleman Development Center

    One of the causes of improper nutritional intake of athletes is that athletes have not received education/knowledge about nutrition in sport performance for athletes. Inadequate nutritional intake of athletes is one of the triggers for fatigue and risk of injury. This activity aims to increase to knowledge and attitudes of athletes regarding proper nutritional intake and proper handling of injuries in athletes. Community service activities are carried outthrough education and simulation of food and drink selection in handling injuries to athletes, as many as 22 PS Sleman Development Center athletes who are members of the U-16 groups on 7 July 2022 at Macanan Squarem Prambanan, Yogyakarta . Community service activities are carried out in several stages in their implementation, starting from preliminaru studies,coordination with coaches, making materials, simulating food dan drink selection in handling athlete’s injuries. The increase in knowledge was measured from the average value of the pretest before being given educational on question number 2, which was 72,64 and after being given education it increased to 81,72. The increase in knowledge was measuredfrom the average value of the pretest before being given educational on question number 5, which was 90,8 and after being given education it increased to 95,34. The maximun posttest score at the end of session after being given education is 80 with a minimum score of 20. Nutrition education activities for athletes are expected to be carried out on an ongoing basisas an effort to assist appropriate nutritional interventions for athletes, especially when athletes experience injuries.     PENENTUAN PENYAKIT PARU DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN JARINGAN SARAF TIRUAN

    Organisasi Kesehatan Dunia (WHO) dan Organisasi Penanggulangan Kanker Dunia (UICC) memprediksikan terjadinya peningkatan kejadian kanker sebesar 300% pada tahun 2030. Salah satu jenis kanker ialah kanker paru. Deteksi kanker paru dapat dilakukan menggunakan rontgen. Diagnosis kanker paru dapat dilakukan melalui pengamatan hasil dari citra foto rontgen secara teliti. Otomasi dari hasil citra X-Ray dapat digunakan oleh praktisi kesehatan dalam pendeteksian kanker paru. Perancangan perangkat lunak jaringan saraf tiruan dari citra foto rontgen dilakukan melalui beberapa langkah yaitu pengolahan citra, seperti median filter, ekualisasi histogram adaptif, dan transformasi kosinus diskrit sebagai ekstraksi fitur citra yang selanjutnya dijadikan masukan jaringan saraf tiruan serta dengan didahului oleh proses pra pengolahan citra. Tingkat akurasi pendeteksian kanker paru melalui citra foto rontgen paru sebesar 72,97%.

    Prestasi atlet sangat didukung oleh performa yang optimal selama bertanding. Motivasi merupakan faktor penentu untuk meningkatkan prestasi atlet. Seorang pelatih merupakan salah satu motivator bagi seorang atlet dan mendukung prestasi yang optimal. SSB Baturetno merupakan salah satu sekolah sepak bola yang memiliki kualitas atlet yang sangat baik. Pendampingan gizi bagi pelatih sangat diperlukan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan pelatih dalam memberikan pendidikan bagi atlet. Pengetahuan yang baik bagi seorang atlet akan berdampak positif bagi peningkatan prestasi. Pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan pelatih tentang menu gizi seimbang bagi atlet sepak bola junior. Pengabdian masyarakat melalui upaya pendampingan gizi dilaksanakan pada bulan Agustus-Desember 2020 di SSB Baturetno. Kegiatan ini diikuti oleh 11 orang pelatih dengan menerapkan protokol kesehatan. Pendampingan gizi yang diberikan adalah pemberian edukasi mengenai pengaturan pola makan, sport drink, dan sport food selama latihan dan pertandingan. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat dilakukan melalui diskusi kelompok terarah, ceramah, diskusi, dan penerapan penyusunan menu. Hasil analisis menunjukkan skor pengetahuan sebelum 86,82, dan skor pengetahuan setelah pendampingan meningkat menjadi 91,91 (p=0,068). Kegiatan pendampingan gizi bagi pelatih dapat menambah pengetahuan tentang pengaturan menu seimbang

    Application of self-organizing mapping as anemia detection using an image of red blood cellsBackground: Anemia is a nutritional problem characterized by changes in blood cell size, especially in microcytic or macrocytic anemia. Iron deficiency anemia is included in hypochromic microcytic anemia because it has a smaller than normal size red blood cell and has a lower than normal hemoglobin (Hb) arising from reduced supply of iron for erythropoiesis (cell maturation process red blood). Analysis based on red blood cell image is a tool to detect anemia using technology applications. Self-organizing mapping (SOM) is one of the artificial neural networks by dividing the input pattern into several groups, so the network output is in the form of groups that are most similar to the input.Objective: To measure the accuracy of SOM for detecting the size of red blood cells in anemia condition.Methods: The type of research was an observational laboratory. The study was conducted at the Electrobiomedical Laboratory of Universitas Respati Yogyakarta from January to August 2018. The sample consisted of anemia and non-anemia red blood cells which had been tested in a laboratory of 92 blood preparations. Stage of measuring red blood cells consisted of pre-processing (cropping, gray scaling, contrast enhancement, and screening), segmentation, feature extraction, and image identification with SOM. The image identification results were concluded by calculating the accuracy of the anemia detection system based on laboratory examination results.Results: The characteristic that distinguishes anemia and non-anemia was in the size of red blood cells. Anemic red blood cells had different pixel intensities than non-anemic red blood cells. The image of non-anemia red blood cells had a full round or oval image. From as many as 92 detections of blood images, five blood images were not by the target results of laboratory tests. The accuracy achieved by the system was 94.57%.Conclusions: The accuracy value of anemia detection using SOM can be used to identify the type of anemia based on red blood cell size

    Gambaran Sikap Atlet Mengenai Gizi Seimbang dan Pemenuhan Kebutuhan Cairan

    Tujuan: Edukasi mengenai pentingnya pemenuhan kebutuhan cairan atlet diharapkan mampu meningkatkan pengetahuan atlet mengenai jumlah, jenis, dan waktu penting pemenuhan kebutuhan cairan. Selain itu, edukasi diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kesadaran atlet akan pentingnya mengganti cairan yang hilang selama proses latihan dan atau bertanding sehingga berperan sebagai langkah awal perubahan perilaku konsumsi cairan pada atlet. Isi: Atlet merupakan olahragawan yang terlatih kekuatan, ketangkasan dan kecepatan untuk diikursertakan dalam pertandingan. Oleh karenanya diperlukan pengetahuan yang baik mengenai gizi seimbang untuk atlet. Untuk menghasilkan pemain sepak bola yang handal, tidak hanya dibutuhkan strategi dan taktik namun juga stamina dan status gizi yang baik. Penerapan gizi seimbang disertai dengan pemenuhan kebutuhan cairan pada atlet berperan dalam mendukung pencapaian performa atlet. Akan tetapi, tidak semua atlet memahami pentingnya gizi seimbang dan pemenuhan kebutuhan cairan dalam peningkatan performa atlet. Edukasi gizi merupakan upaya yang dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan atlet mengenai pentingnya gizi seimbang dan pemenuhan kebutuhan cairan. Dengan pengetahuan yang baik mengenai gizi seimbang dan pemenuhan cairan, sikap atlet terhadap pemilihan menu makanan menjadi baik. Pengabdian masyarakat yang dilakukan adalah edukasi gizi mengenai gizi seimbang dan pemenuhan kebutuhan cairan atlet. Pengabdian masyarakat dilakukan kepada 21 atlet sepak bola di Sekolah Sepak Bola (SSB) Real Madrid pada tanggal 08 Mei 2018 di Stadion Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta. Secara keseluruhan, atlet sepakbola SSB Real Madrid mempunyai sikap yang baik terhadap pemilihan menu sehari berdasarkan gizi seimbang. Kegiatan pengabdian ini diharapkan dapat dilakukan secara berkelanjutan. Hal ini dikarenakan kemungkinan siswa yang berbeda di setiap tahunnya.     Indeks glikemik cookies growol: studi pengembangan produk makanan selingan bagi penyandang diabetes mellitus

    Glycemic index of growol cookies: snack development study for people with diabetes mellitusBackground: Low-glycemic foods with high fiber content have been shown to control blood glucose in diabetics. Growol, cassava fermented food, can be potentially developed as a functional food for diabetics. Growol has higher dietary fiber and lower total sugar, reducing sugar, and sucrose compared to cassava. Carbohydrates in growol combined with roasting processing techniques into cookies products may potentially change the glycemic index of the product.Objective: To examine the potency of growol cookies as a snack for diabetics in terms of the glycemic index of cookies.Methods: This observational laboratory study analyzed the glycemic index of growol cookies compared to glucose and control cookies. The study was conducted from April to October 2019. Ten subjects were involved in the glycemic index measurement. The glycemic index was analyzed through the area under the curve (AUC) ratio of glucose response of food by measuring blood glucose levels during fasting; 30; 60; 90; and 120 minutes after consuming test foods (growol cookies and control cookies).Results: AUC for glucose, control cookies, and growol cookies were 13,669.5; 11,886; and 11,941.5. The glucose glycemic index was 100, while the glycemic index of control cookies and growol cookies was 87. Both control cookies and growol cookies are high glycemic index food. There was an AUC difference between glucose and control cookies (p=0.001) and between glucose and growol cookies (p=0.001). The difference in AUC between control cookies and growol cookies (p=0.991) was not seen.Conclusions: Growol cookies have a lower glycemic index than glucose, but it still cannot be consumed as an alternative snack for diabetics
