    The Influence of Personality Traits on the Entrepreneurship of Sheep Farmers in Garut Regency

    Creative [email protected] Theory of Joseph Schumpeter explains that entrepreneurship is one of constructive solutions in the real sector, which at the same time creates jobs and leads to an increase in welfare. Therefore, entrepreneurs must have a consistent personality in responding to different situations. The aims of this study were to determine the demographic characteristics of farmers and agribusiness characteristics of the sheep farming in Garut as well as to analyze the influence of personality traits on agribusiness entrepreneurship of the sheep farming in Garut. The study was designed as a field study using the survey method. The primary data were obtained from the results of questionnaires distributed to 251 sheep farmers with Likert scale scores. The data were analyzed using Structural Equation Model (SEM) through LISREL program at α0.05 and loading factor of ≥ 0:50. The results showed that personality traits of Extraversion, Agreeableness, and Conscientiousness affected the farmers’ entrepreneurship. The farmers who have an open personality and are agreeable tend to have a strong entrepreneurial character. The entrepreneurship of the farmers will be stronger if they do not follow the order and disobey the rules or dare to leave their habits and perform their job differently and bravely. Thus, the entrepreneurial characters of sheep farmers in Garut are influenced by their personality traits

    Perilaku Konsumen Kopi: Proses Keputusan dan Kepuasan Konsumen Membeli Minuman Kopi Berlabel Fair Trade

    Fair Trade (FT) coffee has a higher production volume than other coffee certifications. This phenomenon is triggered by a shift that is influenced consumer behavior patterns. This study analyzes consumer characteristics, purchasing decisions, and satisfaction in buying FT coffee. A cross-sectional study with a quantitative approach was used as the research design. Data were obtained by distributing online questionnaires to 120 respondents using a voluntary sampling technique. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis, Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI), and Importance Performance Analysis (IPA). The results showed that most respondents were male, with an undergraduate degree and unmarried status. Trends and easy to get drink influence the main reason for purchasing. The main source of information comes from friends who focus on the coffee's taste and flavor. Consumers will continue to buy coffee even though prices have increased. Through CSI calculation, customer satisfaction is worth 74.04%. The results of the IPA calculation show that the main attributes to be improved are price, sales location, and information provision. The results of this study can be used as information on developing a marketing strategy that is adjusted to evaluate consumer expectations.   Keywords: characteristics, consumer behavior, fair trade coffee, purchasing decision, satisfactio

    FAKTOR-FAKTOR YANG MEMPENGARUHI KESEDIAAN MEMBAYAR KONSUMEN TERHADAP KOPI FAIR TRADE

    Coffee drink products that have a fair trade label tend to have a higher price than non-fair trade label coffee drinks, so that some consumers perceive that coffee is an expensive product. This study aims to determine how much consumers are willing to pay for coffee drinks labeled as fair trade and the factors that influence it. This study uses primary data from an online survey of 120 respondents in North Sumatra Province who have purchased coffee drinks with a fair trade label. Data analysis used logistic regression analysis. The results show that the majority of consumers are willing to pay more for coffee drinks labeled as fair trade with an increase of 5-10% from the current product price. The factors that influence the willingness to pay for coffee drinks labeled as fair-rade are age, education, marital status and coffee quality

    The aims of the study are to describe negotiation process and to find how women entrepreneursinterpret their negotiations. This study was based on interpretive paradigm with phenomenologicalapproach that resulted in qualitative data. The selected subject consisted of 16 women entrepreneursof food agribusiness in Bogor City. The data were obtained through in-depth interviews, observationand document analysis. The results show that both formal and informal negotiation process whichinvolves people/parties with various interests.     Influence of Entrepreneurship Orientation on Business Performance of Broiler Husbandry in The Partnership and The Independent Scheme in Bogor

    The purpose of this research are: (1) to analyze the dimensions that construct the entrepreneurship orientation of broiler husbandry entrepreneur in partnership and independent scheme, (2) to analyze the influence of entrepreneurship orientation on business performance of broiler husbandry in the partnership and the independent scheme. This research was conducted in March-May 2017, employed 30 respondent farmers on each partnership and independent scheme. Structural-Partial Least Square Equation Modeling (SEM-PLS) was employed for quantitative analysis. The results of this study indicated that the dimension of entrepreneurship that can be observed from the business actors of broiler husbandry in the independent scheme at the Bogor Regency was innovative, proactive, risk- taking, autonomy and competitive aggressiveness. While in the partnership scheme there was no observable orientation dimension. The partnership scheme showed a negative and insignificant influence of entrepreneurship orientation to business performance, whereas the independent scheme showed a positive and significant influence of the entrepreneurship orientation to the business performance

    Pujon, Malang is the largest milk producer in East Java. Nevertheless, the productivity and farm size are at low level. It indicates that entrepreneurial competencies of dairy farmers at poor level. This research presents the results from depth interview with 105 dairy farmers in Malang Regency, East Java. Based on this information, it can be concluded that entrepreneurial competencies of respondents are at low level on strategic skills, and middle level on leadership and technical management skills, Entrepreneurial competencies are generated positively by personal orientation (interest of dairy farmers in group activities, and risk taking behavior, and demographic characteristic (working experience). It has a positive relationship to successful business. Interest of dairy farmers in group activites improvement could up grade the personal orientation, entrepreneurial competencies, and successful business

    Seaweed is a potential commodity to be cultivated in improving people's welfare. Seaweed development is the right step in increasing competitive advantage to the comparative advantage owned by east lombok regency. Increasing the competitiveness of seaweed is not only focused on improving the competitiveness of its products, but the most important is the effort in improving the competitiveness of seaweed farmers in the village of Seriwe East Lombok regency. The purpose of this reseach are (1) to analyze and measure the competitiveness of seaweed in East Lombok Regency; (2) to analyze the impact government policy on improving seaweed competitiveness in East Lombok Regency; and (3) to analyze the sensitivity price change of the input and output on seaweed competitiveness in East Lombok Regency.     ABSTRAK                                                                        Sumatera barat yang merupakan salah satu sentra produksi peternakan ayam broiler. Selain itu daging ayam broiler merupakan konsumsi tertinggi daripada daging sapi maupun daging ayam kampung. Namun pada tahun 2017 terjadi penurunan produksi ayam broiler sebesar 0,21 persen. Hal ini menggambarkan adanya masalah aktivitas kewirausahaan terutama pada peternakan mandiri yang lebih rentan terhadap ketidakstabilan harga dipengaruhi oleh daya produksi, inovasi dan daya saing dalam melakukan usahanya. Oleh karena itu penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh aktivitas kewirausahaan terhadap pertumbuhan usaha peternakan mandiri. Metode analisis yang digunakan adalah Partial Least Square (PLS). Data primer diperoleh dari wawancara menggunakan kuisioner. Data sekunder diperoleh dari literatur terkait. Hasil penelitian menujukan daya produksi dan daya saing tidak berpengaruh signifikan. Sedangkan inovasi berpengaruh signifikan sebesar 0.368. Artinya penting adanya usaha yang inovasi dan kreatif seperti penggunaan metode berproduksi baru. Variabel laten aktivitas kewirausahaan berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap pertumbuhan usahanya sebesar 0.330.  Saran agar pemerintah dapat mempercepat pertumbuhan usaha dengan mengadakan pelatihan dan penyuluhan yang mendorong pertumbuhan usaha dilihat dari pendapatan dan skala usaha.Kata Kunci: inovasi, partial least square (PLS), peternakan ayam broiler, pertumbuhan usaha, pola mandiriABSTRACTWest Sumatra which is one of the centers of broiler chicken production. In addition broiler chicken meat is the highest consumption than beef or chicken meat. But in 2017 there was a decrease in broiler chicken production by 0.21 percent. This illustrates the problem of entrepreneurial, especially in independent farms which are more susceptible to price instability influenced by the power of production, innovation, and competitiveness in doing business. Therefore this study aims to analyze the influence of entrepreneurial activity on the growth of independent livestock businesses. The analysis method used is PLS. Primary data were obtained from interviews using questionnaires. Secondary data were obtained from the relevant literature. The results of the research addressing the power of production and competitiveness have no significant effect. While innovation has a significant effect of 0.368. It means that there is an innovation and creative effort such as the use of new production methods. The latent variable of entrepreneurial has a positive and significant effect on business growth of 0.330. Suggestions that the government can accelerate business growth by holding training and counseling that encourage business growth seen from income and business scale.Keywords: broiler, business growth, independent pattern, innovation, PL
