    Efektivitas Seleksi Dimensi Tubuh Sapi Bali Induk

    Seleksi merupakan salah satu tindakan yang dilakukan untuk meningkatkan mutu genetik suatu populasi ternak.Respon seleksi yang terjadi tergantung pada intensitas seleksi, heritabilitas dan simpangan baku sifat yang diseleksi.Simpangan baku sifat atau performans ternak yang diseleksi akan menunjukkan keragaman (variasi) sifat tersebutdalam populasi yang dikenal dengan koefisien variasi (keragaman). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahuikoefisien keragaman dan efisiensi respon seleksi yang terjadi, bila seleksi dilakukan pada dimensi tubuh (panjangbadan, tinggi gumba dan lingkar dada) yang didasarkan intensitas seleksi dan estimasi heritabilitas yang samaterhadap semua dimensi tubuh yang diukur. Penelitian ini dilakukan secara purposive random sampling padalima kelompok ternak di lima kecamatan di kabupaten Jembrana. Jumlah induk sapi Bali yang digunakan dalampenelitian ini sebanyak 275 ekor. Variabel yang diukur adalah panjang badan, tinggi gumba dan lingkar dada. Hasilpenelitian menunjukkan rataan panjang badan, tinggi gumba dan lingkar dada sapi Bali induk di lokasi tersebutberturut-turut 117,19±8,84cm; 115,12±6,35cm dan 165,43±12,54cm dengan koefisien keragamannya berturut-turut7,54%; 5,52% dan 7,58%, sedangkan respon seleksinya berturut-turut 0,60cm; 0,76cm dan 1,25cm. Kesimpulanyang dapat diambil dari hasil penelitian ini adalah respon seleksi yang paling efektif untuk peningkatan mutugenetik dimensi tubuh sapi Bali betina adalah terhadap lingkar dadanya.     Penerapan Metode PPP (Presentation, Practice, And Production) dalam Pembelajaran Menulis Teks Deskriptif Kelas VII SMP PGRI 4 Denpasar

    The journal aimed at finding out whether the use of presentation, practice, and production method could improve the writing skill of descriptive essay. The data were collected by observation and documentation methods by giving assignments, questionnaires, interviews, direct record and student\u27s descriptive essay. The data were analyzed by descriptive qualitative method. The data were presented in the table, as well as in description sentences. The main theory used in this research is the theory of learning and teaching from Doughlas Brown. The supporting theories were taken by Jeremy Harmer entitled The Practice of English Language and Teaching and English grammar theory by Yule. The results of quantitative analysis showed that the use of PPP (presentation, practice, and production) method could improve the writing skill of the students. It could be seen from the result of the students\u27 achievement test and observation analysis which improve continuously during the aplication of the model. The mean score of the students was 61.33, which was categorized intofair level. After having treatment in the first cycle, the students\u27 mean inprove to 76.67 categorized into good level, the second cycle, the students\u27 mean score improve to 81categorized to good level. This improvement was also supported by the qualitative data. The result of the qualitative analysis showed that the use of PPP (presentation, practice and production) method could improve the learning motivation of the students. It could be seen from the result of questionnaire analysis and interview showed that from 18 students, 65% of students admitted that they could easy to understand about the lesson after applying PPP (presentation, practice and production)

    The Effect of Fermented Purple Sweet Potato (Ipomoea Batatas L) Skin in Diets on Feed and Anthocyanin Consumption, Carcass Characteristics, Anthioxidant Profile and Meat Texture of Bali Duck

    An experiment was carried out to determine the effect of fermented purple sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas L) skin in diets on feed and anthocyanin consumption, carcass characteristics antioxidant profile and meat texture of Bali duck. Five  treatment diets were used in a completely randomized design (CRD) consisted of control diet A (diet without containing purple sweet potato skin), diet B containing 10% purple sweet potato skin, diet C containing 10% fermented purple sweet potato skin, diet D containing 20% purple sweet potato skin, diet E containing 20% fermented purple sweet potato skin. Each treatment consisted of four replications and each replicate had five ducks. The variables observed were feed and anthocyanin consumption, slaughter weight, carcass weight, carcass percentage, carcass physical composition, meat antioxidant profile (capacity antioxidant (CA), malondialdehyde (MDA), and superoxide dismutase (SOD). Experiment results showed that diets with fermented or unfermented purple sweet potato diets treatments B, C, D, and E increased the anthocyanin consumption,  slaughter weight, carcass weight, carcass percentage and meat percentage of duck carcass but decreased their fat and skin

Analyze marketing channels, as well as the impact on the income of farmers. Finding the calf Bali marketing system that is able to increase the income of farmers. Problems in this study are why farmers tend to sell calves? How marketing channels, income, motivation, as well as the government\u27s role in helping farmers to increase their income from the sale calf? This research is explorative through surveys designed as a research explanation (explanatory research design)

    P-wave Pentaquark and its Decay in the Quark Model with Instanton Induced Interaction

    P-wave pentaquarks with strangeness +1, I=0 and J^P=1/2^+ are studied in the non-relativistic quark model with instanton induced interaction (III). We present their mass splittings and orbital-spin-isospin-color structures. It is found that decompositions of the wave functions are sensitive to III, while the mass splittings are insensitive. The decay of the lowest energy pentaquark, \Theta^+, is found to be suppressed when the contribution of III is increased. Its wave function is dominated by Jaffe-Wilczek-type configuration at large III.Comment: 9 pages, 5 figure

    The Effect of Offered Diet Containing Rice Hull and Mono Sodium Glutamate (MSG) and Effective Microorganism -4 (Em-4) Solution on the Performance of Campbell Duck

    An experiment was carried out to study the effect of Effective Microorganisms-4 (EM-4), a diet containing rice hull and Mono Sodium Glutamate (MSG) on performance, body fat distribution, and quality of Campbell duck meat. The experimental design used in this research is completely randomized design (CRD) with four treatments, ie control treatment (A), diets containing rice hull 4.94%, 3.36% MSG and EM-4 (B); rations containing rice hull 5.97%, 5.94%MSG  and the EM-4 (C), diets containing rice hull 6.94%, 6.34% MSG and EM-4 (D). Each treatment contained four ducks Campbell and each treatment was repeated four times. The observed variable is the performance, body fat distribution, and meat quality. The results showed that administration of rice husk supplemented with liquid EM-4 and MSG did not affect feed intake and protein consumption (P> 0.05), whereas the consumption of fat and crude fiber increased significantly (P <0.05), and the decrease was significantly (P <0.05) compared with the treatment control (A)
