ADDRESSING TECHNOLOGY ISSUES THAT MAY IMPEDE E-HEALTH COMPLIANCE: A CASE STUDY

    Get PDF
Compliance relating to eHealth websites has tended to consider issues around ethics, safety, privacy and trustworthiness. However, from an adherence point of view that acknowledges the care seekers role in accessing and applying the advice they receive, it is important to evaluate whether the eHealth site is designed to assist adherence. This paper reports a study involving the review of a paediatric online system for treating urinary incontinence in children that was found to provide accurate treatment advice but that advice was only adhered with 50% of the time. While many factors will influence patient (in)decision and behaviour, in the study reported in this paper we conducted a heuristic evaluation of this incontinence program and review of its functionality which was compared with the six most highly accessed eHealth websites. The study found that the incontinence program performed well from a usability perspective and provided numerous recommendations for further improvement of the system with the intention that this will increase compliance with the treatment advice. The evaluation approach used can be applied to measure other eHealth advisory systems

[EN]The objective of this study is to determine how the age of onset to acquire a foreign language and motivation both influence in the pronunciation of the French language in university students. To accomplish this work, quantitative research was used and the methodology is descriptive correlative. There are previous studies that sustain that students of a foreign language that began at an early age have acquired better pronunciation of FLE compared to those who began their learning process at a later age. The human being at an early age has great muscular flexibility, it is precisely in this period that the muscles of the mouth must be trained to reproduce the sounds of the L2 phonological system. This research revises with Spearman test correlation this theory with French as a foreign language Peruvian’ students. This study also analyzes the importance of motivation for this area of learning process. The empirical results allow to confirm that the best stage to learn a foreign language is childhood, since a child's brain has greater plasticity; which allows it to unconsciously appropriate a second language and the positive impact of motivation on learning of pronunciation of French as a foreign language. It is possible to conclude that we have to foster foreign language since younger age

Cursos e Congresos , C-155[Abstract] Thanks to the rise of wearable devices, people have more direct access to a variety of health data, such as physical activity, sleep and heart rate. For the research field, these devices represent a powerful tool for monitoring and evaluating different parameters. However, the procedure of capturing data for storage in an independent and self-managed database is not standardised. In this project we analysed two methods of data capture for the Xiaomi Mi Bands. One uses the official application together with Google Fit and the other uses the open source application GadgetBridge. The advantages and disadvantages of each system were studied, concluding that both could be very beneficial as data capture solutions for wearable devices in research, although with different target projects due to their particularities. Future work will explore these systems in more depth, addressing limitations, automation and optimising for specific research needsXunta de Galicia; ED431B 2022/39CITIC is financed by the Xunta de Galicia through the collaboration agreement between the Consellería de Cultura, Educaci´on, Formación Profesional e Universidades and the Galician universities for the reinforcement of the research centres of the GalicianUniversity System (CIGUS). Major active faults are affecting turbidite sequences of the Penderisco Formation in Northwestern Colombia, located along the axis of the Western Cordillera. Such faults are currently active and generate a high/moderate degree of seismic hazard in this region. In this work we use the electrical resistivity tomography method to evaluate its ability to delineate minor structures and to identify displaced blocks associated with the Abriaquí Fault. Electrical tests were carried out in a perpendicular direction to the Abriaqui Fault, obtaining tomographic images of electrical resistivity at two different locations using the Dipole-Dipole method. From the results we infer a high correspondence between the obtained spatial distribution of resistivity and the previous ideas of the underground configuration based on geomorphic and tectonic criteria. In particular, the inferred configuration of the Abriaquí Fault from electrical resistivity is highly consistent with the 2D models previously proposed.&nbsp

The enormous environmental problems that arise from organic waste have increased due to the significant population increase worldwide. Microbial fuel cells provide a novel solution for the use of waste as fuel for electricity generation. In this investigation, onion waste was used, and managedtogeneratemaximumpeaksof4.459±0.0608mAand0.991±0.02Vofcurrentandvoltage, respectively. The conductivity values increased rapidly to 179,987±2859 mS/cm, while the optimal pH in which the most significant current was generated was 6968 ± 0.286, and the ◦ Brix values decreased rapidly due to the degradation of organic matter. The microbial fuel cells showed a low internal resistance (154,389±5228 Ω), with a power density of 595.69±15.05 mW/cm2 at a current density of 6.02 A/cm2; these values are higher than those reported by other authors in the literature. The diffractogram spectra of the onion debris from FTIR show a decrease in the most intense peaks, compared to the initial ones with the final ones. It was possible to identify the species Pseudomona eruginosa, Acinetobacter bereziniae, Stenotrophomonas maltophilia, and Yarrowia lipolytica adhered to the anode electrode at the end of the monitoring using the molecular technique
