    Percepción de la felicidad como factor determinante para la convivencia social de las docentes del Colegio el Cafeterito de Neiva

    Consentimiento informado.Ante las demandas y exigencias del entorno social, nace la necesidad de indagar acerca de la percepción de la felicidad, y cómo ésta aporta a las relaciones entre el sujeto y su ambiente, de este modo, la felicidad se presenta como un estado que propicia emociones generadoras de sensaciones placenteras que involucra la interpretación de los impulsos de los sentidos de manera agradable y positiva. Teniendo como referencia la Maestría en Psicología Comunitaria se considera relevante vincular el presente estudio, al proyecto macro sobre “Felicidad: estudio mixto desde la perspectiva de docentes y estudiantes de psicología de dos universidades de Latinoamérica”, en el cual participan como investigadores docentes de la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México - UNAM y la Universidad Abierta y a Distancia - UNAD de Colombia, y desde donde nace la idea y la oportunidad de realizar la investigación sobre la percepción de la felicidad como factor determinante para la convivencia social de las docentes de un colegio de la ciudad de Neiva- Huila, surgiendo el interés en generar un nuevo conocimiento que aporte de manera trasversal al macro proyecto de Felicidad. El abordaje de la investigación fue desarrollado desde el enfoque cualitativo con diseño narrativo que contribuye a ampliar el conocimiento sobre la felicidad; lo cual permitió evidenciar como resultado reconocer que la felicidad se interpreta desde las prácticas diarias de las personas en las que se vinculan elementos propios del ser, del compartir, del aportar y el transmitir, soportada en valores de la sana interacción y que tienen inherencia con la convencía social, lo cual se convierte en factores incidentes que atribuyen a la vida en comunidad.According to the demands and requirements of the social environment, the need to inquire about the perception of happiness is born, and how it contributes to the relationships between a person and his/her environment, in this way, happiness is presented as a state that makes emotions generate pleasant sensations that involve the interpretation of the impulses of the senses in a nice and positive way. Having as reference the Master in Community Psychology, it is considered relevant to link the present study to the macro project on “Happiness: mixed study from the perspective of teachers and psychology students of two Latin American universities”, in which they participate as teaching researchers of the National Autonomous University in Mexico - UNAM and the Open and Distance University - UNAD in Colombia, where the idea is born and the opportunity to carry out research on the perception of happiness as a determining factor for the social coexistence of teachers in a school from the city of Neiva-Huila, with the interest in generating new knowledge that contributes transverse to the macro project of Happiness. The research approach was developed from the qualitative method with narrative design that contributes to expand knowledge about happiness; which allowed to show as a result to recognize that happiness is interpreted from the daily practices of people in which elements related to the human being, to the share, to the contribution and the transmission supported by values of healthy interaction and that it is inherent in the convincing social, which becomes incident factors attributed to life in community

    New aging properties of the Clayton-Oakes model based on multivariate dispersion

    In this work we present a recent definition of Multivariate Increasing Failure Rate (MIFR) based on the concept of multivariate dispersion. This new definition is an extension of the univariate characterization of IFR distributions under dispersive ordering of the residual lifetimes. We apply this definition to the Clayton-Oakes model. In particular, we provide several conditions to order in the multivariate dispersion sense the residual lifetimes of random vectors with a dependence structure given by the Clayton-Oakes survival copula. We illustrate our results with a graphical method

    Stratification of radiosensitive brain metastases based on an actionable S100A9/RAGE resistance mechanism

To view a copy of this license, visit http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/.Whole-brain radiotherapy (WBRT) is the treatment backbone for many patients with brain metastasis; however, its efficacy in preventing disease progression and the associated toxicity have questioned the clinical impact of this approach and emphasized the need for alternative treatments. Given the limited therapeutic options available for these patients and the poor understanding of the molecular mechanisms underlying the resistance of metastatic lesions to WBRT, we sought to uncover actionable targets and biomarkers that could help to refine patient selection. Through an unbiased analysis of experimental in vivo models of brain metastasis resistant to WBRT, we identified activation of the S100A9-RAGE-NF-κB-JunB pathway in brain metastases as a potential mediator of resistance in this organ. Targeting this pathway genetically or pharmacologically was sufficient to revert the WBRT resistance and increase therapeutic benefits in vivo at lower doses of radiation. In patients with primary melanoma, lung or breast adenocarcinoma developing brain metastasis, endogenous S100A9 levels in brain lesions correlated with clinical response to WBRT and underscored the potential of S100A9 levels in the blood as a noninvasive biomarker.     Clonal chromosomal mosaicism and loss of chromosome Y in elderly men increase vulnerability for SARS-CoV-2

    The pandemic caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2, COVID-19) had an estimated overall case fatality ratio of 1.38% (pre-vaccination), being 53% higher in males and increasing exponentially with age. Among 9578 individuals diagnosed with COVID-19 in the SCOURGE study, we found 133 cases (1.42%) with detectable clonal mosaicism for chromosome alterations (mCA) and 226 males (5.08%) with acquired loss of chromosome Y (LOY). Individuals with clonal mosaic events (mCA and/or LOY) showed a 54% increase in the risk of COVID-19 lethality. LOY is associated with transcriptomic biomarkers of immune dysfunction, pro-coagulation activity and cardiovascular risk. Interferon-induced genes involved in the initial immune response to SARS-CoV-2 are also down-regulated in LOY. Thus, mCA and LOY underlie at least part of the sex-biased severity and mortality of COVID-19 in aging patients. Given its potential therapeutic and prognostic relevance, evaluation of clonal mosaicism should be implemented as biomarker of COVID-19 severity in elderly people.     Effect of magnesium oxide (mgo) addition in diets for lactating holstein cows

    Se evaluó el efecto de adición de óxido de magnesio (MgO) en dietas para vacas Holstein sobre la producción y calidad de la leche. Diecinueve vacas Holstein en el segundo tercio de lactancia fueron asignadas a dos tratamientos (T), con 9 y 10 animales. Ambos tratamientos fueron similares para días de lactancia y producción de leche. Las vacas fueron asignadas al azar a dos grupos o tratamientos (T): T1 recibió 0,2%, y T2 recibió 0,4% de MgO. El MgO (agente alcalinizante) se mezcló con un concentrado comercial y se ofreció en el comedero junto con la dieta total, la cual consistió de 9 kg/d del concentrado mas heno de alfalfa ad libitum. La dieta total se ofreció 3 veces al día (06000, 1200 and 1700 h). El periodo experimental fue de 30 d, con otros 30 d de adaptación. Se evaluó la producción de leche (kg/d) y la calidad de la leche (grasa, proteína, y sólidos totales). Los datos se analizaron por medio del paquete estadístico SAS en un diseño de bloques al azar. Los animales en T2 (0,4% MgO) produjeron más leche (2,5 kg/d; P<0,05) que aquellos en T1 (0,20% MgO). El contenido de grasa, proteína, y sólidos totales en leche fue más alto (P<0,05) en T1 que en T2. Se concluye que la adición de 0,40% de MgO en dietas para vacas lactantes incrementa la producción de leche, sin embargo puede haber una pequeña reducción en la calidad de la leche, comparado con la suplementación de 0,20% de [email protected] was evaluated the effect of magnesium oxide (MgO) addition in diets for Holstein cows on milk production and quality. Nineteen Holstein cows in second third of lactation were assigned to two treatments (T), with 9 and 10 animals. Both treatments were similar for days in lactation and milk yield. Cows were assigned at random to two treatments (T) groups: T1 received 0.2% and T2 received 0.4% of MgO. The MgO (alkalinizing agent) was mixed with a commercial concentrate and offered in feed bunk with total diet, which consisted of 9 kg/d of concentrate plus alfalfa hay fed ad libitum. Total diet was offered three times a day (0600; 1200 and 1700 h). The experimental period was of 30 d, with other 30 for adaptation. Milk production (kg/d) and milk quality (fat, protein, and total solids) were evaluated. Data were analyzed using the statistical package SAS through of a randomized block design. Animals on T2 (0.40% MgO) produced 2.85 kg/d more milk (P<0.50) than those on T1 (0.20% MgO). The fat, protein and total solids content in milk were higher (P<0.05) in T1 than in T2. It is concluded that the addition of 0.4% MgO in diets for lactating dairy cows resulted in milk production increased, although there was a small reduction in milk quality, compared with 0.2% MgO supplementation

    Since 2020, the social, political, and welfare conditions around the world have been violated due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, according to World Health Organization (WHO) figures for December 2021, more than five million people’s lives have been taken, and millions more have fallen into poverty. And not to mention the sociopolitical issues emerging in Colombia in 2021, which caused social struggles that impacted lives, economy, and other areas in a country with a long way to go to build peace and transform the culture of war. However, this context has also created challenges that have led science, academia, and governments to be strategic, creative, and dynamic. Thus, the university has developed pedagogical, technological, and psychosocial plans and strategies to face and mitigate the impacts that barely start to emerge. Life will not be the same, but it has been moving towards a new way of living, capable of building solidarity, fraternity, accompaniment, and confrontation bonds. This new version of the book presents reflections and the theoretical and the research analyses based on the actions of change in times of crisis that researchers from the research center have been developing. It is organized in two sections; the first has reflections on research in education and alternative pedagogical strategies that are being developed by the research center. In the second section, there are the reflections on research praxis, that is, research, projection, or social extension in both community and organizational contexts.Desde 2020, las condiciones sociales, políticas y de bienestar en el mundo se han visto vulneradas dada la pandemia del COVID-19, que le ha costado la vida a más de cinco millones de personas, y millones más han caído en la pobreza, de acuerdo con las cifras de la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS) para diciembre de 2021, esto sin especificar las problemáticas sociopolíticas que se levantan en Colombia en el 2021 y que desencadenaron luchas sociales que impactaron vidas, economía, y otros ámbitos en un país que tiene un largo camino para construir paz y transformar la cultura de la guerra. Sin embargo, también ha creado los retos que ha llevado a la ciencia, la academia y los gobiernos a ser estratégicos, creativos y dinámicos. Estas acciones han hecho que en la universidad se generen planes y estrategias pedagógicas, tecnológicas, psicosociales, para enfrentar y mitigar los impactos que apenas se asoman. La vida no será la misma, pero se ha venido transitando a una nueva forma de vivir, capaz de tender lazos de solidaridad, fraternidad, acompañamiento y enfrentamiento. Esta nueva versión del libro presenta las reflexiones, los análisis teóricos e investigativos desde las acciones de cambio en tiempos de crisis que vienen desarrollando investigadoras e investigadores del centro de investigación. Está estructurado en dos secciones, en la primera sección se encuentran reflexiones sobre investigación en educación y estrategias pedagógicas alternativas en las que avanza el centro de investigación a través de sus investigadores. En la segunda sección se encuentran las reflexiones sobre las praxis de las investigaciones, es decir, la investigación, la proyección o extensión social en tanto en contextos comunitarias como en las organizaciones.  Desde 2020, as condições sociais, políticas e de bem-estar no mundo foram violadas devido à pandemia da COVID-19, que custou a vida de mais de cinco milhões de pessoas, e mais milhões caíram na pobreza, de acordo com os números da Organização Mundial da Saúde (OMS) para dezembro de 2021, Isto sem especificar as questões sócio-políticas que surgem na Colômbia em 2021 e que desencadearam lutas sociais que impactaram vidas, a economia e outras áreas em um país que tem um longo caminho a percorrer para construir a paz e transformar a cultura da guerra. No entanto, também criou desafios que levaram a ciência, a academia e os governos a serem estratégicos, criativos e dinâmicos. Estas ações levaram a universidade a gerar planos e estratégias pedagógicas, tecnológicas e psicossociais para enfrentar e mitigar os impactos que estão apenas começando a surgir. A vida não será a mesma, mas estamos caminhando para um novo modo de vida, capaz de construir laços de solidariedade, fraternidade, acompanhamento e confronto. Esta nova versão do livro apresenta as reflexões, análises teóricas e de pesquisa a partir das ações de mudança em tempos de crise que os pesquisadores do centro de pesquisa vêm desenvolvendo.
