Controlling Excitations Inversion of a Cooper Pair Box Interacting with a Nanomechanical Resonator
We investigate the action of time dependent detunings upon the excitation
inversion of a Cooper pair box interacting with a nanomechanical resonator. The
method employs the Jaynes-Cummings model with damping, assuming different decay
rates of the Cooper pair box and various fixed and t-dependent detunings. It is
shown that while the presence of damping plus constant detunings destroy the
collapse/revival effects, convenient choices of time dependent detunings allow
one to reconstruct such events in a perfect way. It is also shown that the mean
excitation of the nanomechanical resonator is more robust against damping of
the Cooper pair box for convenient values of t-dependent detunings.Comment: 11 pages, 5 figure
Critical properties of the topological Ginzburg-Landau model
We consider a Ginzburg-Landau model for superconductivity with a Chern-Simons
term added. The flow diagram contains two charged fixed points corresponding to
the tricritical and infrared stable fixed points. The topological coupling
controls the fixed point structure and eventually the region of first order
transitions disappears. We compute the critical exponents as a function of the
topological coupling. We obtain that the value of the exponent does not
vary very much from the XY value, . This shows that the
Chern-Simons term does not affect considerably the XY scaling of
superconductors. We discuss briefly the possible phenomenological applications

A Grassmann integral equation
The present study introduces and investigates a new type of equation which is
called Grassmann integral equation in analogy to integral equations studied in
real analysis. A Grassmann integral equation is an equation which involves
Grassmann integrations and which is to be obeyed by an unknown function over a
(finite-dimensional) Grassmann algebra G_m. A particular type of Grassmann
integral equations is explicitly studied for certain low-dimensional Grassmann
algebras. The choice of the equation under investigation is motivated by the
effective action formalism of (lattice) quantum field theory. In a very general
setting, for the Grassmann algebras G_2n, n = 2,3,4, the finite-dimensional
analogues of the generating functionals of the Green functions are worked out
explicitly by solving a coupled system of nonlinear matrix equations. Finally,
by imposing the condition G[{\bar\Psi},{\Psi}] = G_0[{\lambda\bar\Psi},
{\lambda\Psi}] + const., 0<\lambda\in R (\bar\Psi_k, \Psi_k, k=1,...,n, are the
generators of the Grassmann algebra G_2n), between the finite-dimensional
analogues G_0 and G of the (``classical'') action and effective action
functionals, respectively, a special Grassmann integral equation is being
established and solved which also is equivalent to a coupled system of
nonlinear matrix equations. If \lambda \not= 1, solutions to this Grassmann
integral equation exist for n=2 (and consequently, also for any even value of
n, specifically, for n=4) but not for n=3. If \lambda=1, the considered
Grassmann integral equation has always a solution which corresponds to a
Gaussian integral, but remarkably in the case n=4 a further solution is found
which corresponds to a non-Gaussian integral. The investigation sheds light on

Search for charged Higgs bosons decaying to top and bottom quarks in ppbar collisions
We describe a search for production of a charged Higgs boson, q \bar{q'} ->
H^+, reconstructed in the t\bar{b} final state in the mass range 180 <= M_{H^+}
<= 300 GeV. The search was undertaken at the Fermilab Tevatron collider with a
center-of-mass energy sqrt{s} = 1.96 TeV and uses 0.9 fb^{-1} of data collected
with the D0 detector. We find no evidence for charged Higgs boson production
and set upper limits on the production cross section in the Types I, II and III
two-Higgs-doublet models (2HDMs). An excluded region in the (M_{H^+},tan\beta)

Measurement of the forward-backward charge asymmetry and extraction of sin^2Theta^{eff}_W in ppbar -> Z/\gamma^{*}+X -> e+e+X events produced at \sqrt{s}=1.96 TeV
We present a measurement of the forward-backward charge asymmetry ()
in events at a center-of-mass energy
of 1.96 TeV using 1.1 fb of data collected with the D0 detector at the
Fermilab Tevatron collider. is measured as a function of the invariant
mass of the electron-positron pair, and found to be consistent with the
standard model prediction. We use the measurement to extract the

Measurement of the B0_s semileptonic branching ratio to an orbitally excited D_s** state, Br(B0_s -> Ds1(2536) mu nu)
In a data sample of approximately 1.3 fb-1 collected with the D0 detector
between 2002 and 2006, the orbitally excited charm state D_s1(2536) has been
observed with a measured mass of 2535.7 +/- 0.6 (stat) +/- 0.5 (syst) MeV via
the decay mode B0_s -> D_s1(2536) mu nu X. A first measurement is made of the
branching ratio product Br(b(bar) -> D_s1(2536) mu nu X).Br(D_s1(2536)->D*
K0_S). Assuming that D_s1(2536) production in semileptonic decay is entirely
from B0_s, an extraction of the semileptonic branching ratio Br(B0_s ->

Search for scalar leptoquarks and T-odd quarks in the acoplanar jet topology using 2.5 fb-1 of ppbar collision data at sqrt(s)=1.96 TeV
A search for new physics in the acoplanar jet topology has been performed in
2.5 fb-1 of data from ppbar collisions at sqrt(s)=1.96 TeV, recorded by the D0
detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. The numbers of events with exactly
two acoplanar jets and missing transverse energy are in good agreement with the
standard model expectations. The result of this search has been used to set a
lower mass limit of 205 GeV at the 95% C.L. on the mass of a scalar leptoquark
when this particle decays exclusively into a quark and a neutrino. In the
framework of the Little Higgs model with T-parity, limits have also been
obtained on the T-odd quark mass as a function of the T-odd photon mass
Search for anomalous \boldmath{Wtb} couplings in single top quark production
In 0.9 fb of collisions, D0 has observed an excess of
events with an isolated lepton, missing transve rse momentum, and two to four
jets. This excess is consistent with single top quark production. We examine
these data to study the Lorentz structure of the coupling. The standard
model predicts a left-handed vector coupling at the vertex. The most
general lowest dimension, CP-conserving Lagrangian admits right-handed vector
and left- or right-h anded tensor couplings as well. We find that the data
prefer the left-handed vector coupling and set upper limits on the anomalous
couplings. These are the first direct constraints on a general
interaction and the first direct limits on left- and right-handed tensor

Measurement of the electron charge asymmetry in ppbar->W+X->enu+X events at sqrt{s}=1.96 TeV
We present a measurement of the electron charge asymmetry in
ppbar->W+X->enu+X events at a center of mass energy of 1.96 TeV using 0.75 fb-1
of data collected with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. The
asymmetry is measured as a function of the electron transverse momentum and
pseudorapidity in the interval (-3.2, 3.2) and is compared with expectations
from next-to-leading order calculations in perturbative quantum chromodynamics.
These measurements will allow more accurate determinations of the proton parton

Search for right-handed W bosons in top quark decay
We present a measurement of the fraction f+ of right-handed W bosons produced
in top quark decays, based on a candidate sample of events in the
lepton+jets decay mode. These data correspond to an integrated luminosity of
230pb^-1, collected by the DO detector at the Fermilab Tevatron
Collider at sqrt(s)=1.96 TeV. We use a constrained fit to reconstruct the
kinematics of the and decay products, which allows for the
measurement of the leptonic decay angle for each event. By comparing
the distribution from the data with those for the expected
background and signal for various values of f+, we find
f+=0.00+-0.13(stat)+-0.07(syst). This measurement is consistent with the
