We report a new record of Leptodactylus paraensis in the state of Pará, extending its distribution over 500km northwest of the type-locality. Preliminary assessment of amphibians and reptiles from floresta nacional do trairão, with a new snake record for the Pará state, Brazilian Amazon

We present a list of amphibians and reptiles from Floresta Nacional do Trairão, located in the southwestern part of the state of Pará. This study is part of the results obtained during the preparation of the management plan of FLONA do Trairão, required by the Instituto Chico Mendes de Conservação da Biodiversidade (ICMBio), conducted during the rainy season, 05-24 September 2009. We use four different methods: time-constrained visual searching (TCVS), pitfall traps with drift fence (PT), occasional collecting (OC), and collections made by others (CMO). The study area covers 257,482 hectares and approximately 70% of it is covered by dense ombrophilous forest and 30% of open ombrophilous forest. We registered 94 species of amphibians and reptiles: Anura (35), Chelonia (4), Crocodylia (1) and Squamata (54: 23 lizards and 31 snakes). The snake Drymobius rhombifer was registered for the first time in the state of Pará. Although none of the recorded species is cited in the lists of endangered species in Brazil, FLONA do Trairão should be considered important for maintaining populations of central Amazonian herpetofauna. © 2011 Deutsche Gesellschaft für Herpetologie und Terrarienkunde e.V. RÉPTEIS SQUAMATA DE UMA ÁREA DE SAVANA NO OESTE DO ESTADO DO PARÁ, BRASIL.

Este trabalho apresenta uma lista das espécies de répteis Squamatas da área do Sítio Mapinguarí, comunidade Jatobá, Rodovia Estadual Everaldo Martins, no município de Santarém, oeste do estado do Pará. O Sítio Mapinguarí apresenta 25 hectares fitofisionomicamente caracterizados pela presença de savana. O inventário foi realizado entre agosto de 2007 e agosto de 2008. Para o levantamento das espécies de répteis foram utilizados três métodos de amostragem; 1) procura visual limitada por tempo, 2) armadilhas de interceptação e queda, e 3) coletas por terceiros. Em 27 campanhas realizadas, totalizando um esforço amostral de 972 horas homem/campo, foram catalogadas 34 espécies de répteis pertencentes a 29 gêneros e 16 famílias. Entre as serpentes a família mais representativa foi Dipsadidae com um total de nove espécies. Entre os lagartos a família mais representativa foi Polychrotidae com quatro espécies. Os resultados podem ser considerados relevantes tendo em vista as dimensões da área estudada e o elevado grau de antropização e várias espécies são difíceis de serem coletadas, justificando a carência de dados ecológicos sobre determinados táxons. This research presents a list of species of Squamata reptiles in a savanna area located at Mapinguarí farm, community Jatobá, Highway Everaldo Martins, nearby the city of Santarém, west of Pará State. The Mapinguarí farm is a 25 hectares area characterized by the presence of savanna habitat. Surveys were conducted between August 2007 and August 2008. We have carried out three different sampling methods; 1) visual search limited by time, 2) drift fences with, Pitfall Traps 3) collections by local in habitants. After an effort of 324 hours per observer, we have cataloged 34 species of reptiles distributed in 29 genera and 16 families. The most representative snakes family was Dipsadidae, registering nine new species and between lizards it was the Polychrotidae family, represented with four species. Results are considered relevant because of relative small studied area, high antropic pressure and that many species can be difficult to collect, justifying the lack of ecological information on certain taxons. Análise multitemporal da antropização da Área de Proteção Ambiental da Margem Direita do Rio Negro, Setor Paduari-Solimões

Intense environmental anthropization processes due to changes in the soil and its cover use produce negative impacts, among others, on biodiversity, climate and hydrology. The Área de Proteção Ambiental da Margem Direita do Rio Negro; Setor Paduari -Solimões (Negro River Right Bank Environmental Protection Area; Sector Paduari-Solimões ), is a conservation unit close to the city of Manaus. This conservation unit has been submitted to intense anthropization effects. In this study, it was used images from Landsat 5, remote sensing and digital image processing to perform a multi-temporal analysis of the unit area anthropization. The analysis results indicates anthropization in 50,904.72 ha, i.e. 11% of the unit area and 17.3% anthropization increase in 2005.Pages: 4519-452
