    Correlation between Hand Length and Various Anthropometric Parameters

    Background: Estimation of stature is very important chapter in the field of Forensic anthropometry. The present study is a serious effort to establish correlation between Height of an individual and five parameters; Arm span, Hand length, Hand breadth, Foot length, and Foot breadth. Method: Sample of 273 living cases (138 male and 135 female students) between the ages of 17 and 23 years with no obvious deformities or previous history of trauma to hands, feet, spine and limbs, were studied at Government Medical College, Bhavnagar. Sample represents the population of Gujarat. Results: This study shows significant correlation between stature and all five parameters at different degrees. Mathematical formulas were used for estimation of stature from Arm span, Hand length, Hand breadth, Foot length, and Foot breadth. Arm span showed the highest correlation with stature (r=0.908) followed by Hand length, followed by foot length. Hand Breadth showed the lowest degree of correlation (0.467). Conclusion: Present study will be definitely helpful to forensic experts and crime scene investigators in establishing identity of an unknown individual.     THE COMBINATION OF COW AND PIG FECES AS BIOGAS SOURCES. This research has been carried out with the aim to find out the biogas production produced from the use of cow and pig feces. This research was conducted at Bailang Abattoir Manado, North Sulawesi. The material used in this study were cow feces, pig feces and water. Comparison of feces combinations (2 bucket cow feces, 1 bucket pig feces and 3 bucket water was 1: 1). The equipment used is a horizontal type digester, measuring, thermometer, pH indicator, biogas stove, hose, barrel and bucket. The data analysis used was in this study was descriptive analysis. The variables observed in this study were biogas volume, temperature, pH value, and biogas application. The 31 days of research showed that the total volume of biogas achieved was 122,266,262 m3. The results also obtained an average temperature of 31ºC for the morning and 30ºC for the afternoon. The pH value of this study 7. The gas test was conducted twice, first on the 15th day. The second test was carried out on day 31. The use of biogas takes 24 minutes to cook. The conclusion of this study is the combination of cow and pig feces with a temperature of 30-31ºC and pH 7 produces 122,266,262 cm3 of biogas with a cooking time of 24 minutes. Keywords: biogas, cow feces, pig feces

    The purpose of this study was to find out more deeply how the effectiveness of Minimum Service Standards at the Regional Education Office of North Sulawesi Province. The research was conducted from March to August 2022. The selection of respondents was done intentionally. This research uses descriptive qualitative research design. Research informants used purposive sampling technique. The research focuses on the accuracy of program targets, program socialization, achievement of program objectives, and program monitoring. Data collection technique was carried out by means of observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques in this study are data collection, data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the Minimum Service Standards program has not run effectively and optimally. This is because this program does not run to the entire community and the process for verification with data control is not strict so that people still do not choose education facilitation from the government. In addition, the socialization process by the Regional Education Office of North Sulawesi Province did not reach the community, only to school administrators in the regions. The lack of control and supervision to influence the level of achievement of the fulfillment of students in each school in the region. There is no direct assistance from the field responsible for continuing to schools, especially those that are still included in remote areas so that this program does not show satisfactory results

    KUALITAS ILABULO MENGGUNAKAN TEPUNG SAGU DENGAN LEVEL YANG BERBEDA

    THE QUALITY OF ILABULO USES SAGO FLOUR WITH DIFFERENT LEVELS. The study aims to evaluate the use of native chicken and starch   on   physical   and   organoleptic of ilabulo foods. This study was conducted using a complete random design (CRD), with four treatments: p1 (50 grams) p2 (100 grams) p3 (150 grams) p4 (200 grams) and five replication. Data was analyzed using anova (analysis of variance). Based on the results of data analysis that the variable of water holding capacity, moisture, flavor and taste showed non-significant differences while pH, the color, texture showed significant differences. It can be concluded that the use native chicken meat and sago flour of 100-200 grams to ilabulo food could be accepted by panelist.Keywords: native chicken, sago, ilabul

    RIZKY DEWIYANI K (2019) Belakangan ini marak terjadi kekerasan seksual yang terjadi pada masyarakat. Ironisnya, pelaku tidak hanya mengincar para korban dewasa saja, namun juga menjadikan anak-anak yang masih tidak tahu apa-apa menjadi korban. Begitu besarnya peran orangtua, keluarga dan lingkungan bagi tumbuh kembang seorang anak. Melihat kasus kekerasan seksual pada anak yang terus meningkat dan dampak besar yang ditimbulkan akibat peristiwa tersebut, maka perlu dilakukan suatu program pencegahan kekerasan seksual melalui pendidikan seks yang berguna untuk melindungi diri anak dari bahaya kekerasan seksual. Salah satu program yang sesuai dengan karakteristik anak usia prasekolah adalah program underwear rule dimana anak diajak untuk belajar menghargai dan menjaga tubuh mereka terutama yang ditutupi pakaian dalam. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah program underwear rule efektif dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan orangtua mengenai bahaya kekerasan seksual pada anak. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada orangtua wali murid TK Harapan Bunda menggunakan purposive sampling dengan subyek penelitian 6 orang kelompok eksperimen dan 6 orang kelompok kontrol. Alat pengumpul data yang digunakan berupa objective test yang terdiri dari 45 item. Tekhnik analisis data menggunakan Mann Whitney Test, penghitungan ini dilakukan dengan bantuan program SPSS 24.0 for windows. Berdasarkan analisis data penghitungan gain score pada kelompok eksperimen dan kontrol diperoleh nilai taraf signifikansi p=0,004. Hasil penghitungan ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan rerata skor yang signifikan antara kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol. Pada kelompok eksperimen rerata skor pada saat pre-test 25,33 dan pada saat post-test 43,16 mengalami peingkatan sebesar 17,83 setelah diberikan perlakuan.     THE EFFECTS OF PALM JUICE VINEGAR TOWARDS THE ORGANOLEPTICS OF MUSCOVY DUCK MEAT (Chairina moschata). People in North Sulawesi are continued to develop duck farming. Most of them run their farm with traditional system. The species of duck developed in North Sulawesi of Chairina moschata is called Muscovy duck. Special treatments were applied in cook processing of duck meat especially to eliminate stink and tough texture. Palm juice vinegar containing acetic acid has many roles when it was added in foods stuffs including duck’s meat. The aim of this research was to evaluate the organoleptic taste of duck meat immersed in palm juice vinegar. The objects of this research were breast part of duck meat immersed and in juice vinegar and stored during 4, 8 and 12 days. This research used completely randomized design involving 4 treatments with 40 untrained panelists as replication. Observed variables were colors, flavors, meat tastes and meat tenderness. Data was analyzed using ANOVA and Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) for further significant treatments. The results showed that immersion treatment of duck meat in palm juice vinegar stored during 4, 8 and 12 days gave significant effects (P<0.01) to organoleptic of duck meat. Further test with DMRT showed that immersion of duck meat in 12 days palm juice vinegar can be accepted by the panelists as the best treatment.   Keywords: Organoleptic test, duck meat, palm juice vinega

    Pengaruh marinasi bawang putih (Allium sativum l) terhadap sifat fisik dan total bakteri daging ayam broiler dalam penyimpanan suhu dingin

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh marinasi bawang putih (Allium Sativum L) terhadap kadar air, daya mengikat air, pH, dan total bakteri daging ayam broiler dalam penyimpanan suhu dingin. Penelitian ini telah dilaksanakan pada bulan Oktober sampai desember 2021 di Laboratorium Teknologi Hasil Ternak (THT) Fapet, UNSRAT dan di Laboratorium Balai Riset dan Standarisasi Industri Manado. Bahan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah daging ayam broiler bagian dada yang direndam dalam jus bawang putih. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 5 Perlakuan dan 4 ulangan. Perlakuan adalah marinasi daging ayam broiler dalam jus bawang putih yang terdiri dari 5 level yaitu 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%, 30%. Parameter yang diuji dalam penelitian ini adalah kadar air, daya mengikat air, pH, dan total bakteri. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis sidik ragam (ANOVA) dan dilanjutkan dengan uji BNJ. Berdasarkan hasil analisis sidik ragam menunjukkan bahwa marinasi daging ayam broiler dalam bawang putih (Allium Sativum L) memberikan pengaruh yang tidak berbeda nyata (P&gt;0,05) terhadap kadar air, daya mengikat air, dan pH daging tetapi berbeda sangat nyata (P&lt;0,01) terhadap total bakteri. Berdasarkan hasil pembahasan maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa perlakuan marinasi jus bawang putih dengan konsentrasi 30% pada daging  ayam broiler dalam penyipanan suhu dingin (4-5OC) dapat mempertahankan kualitas daging yang disimpan selama 9 ja

    Latar Belakang: Remaja adalah kelompok penduduk masyarakat yang berusia sekitar 10-19 tahun. Pertumbuhan dan perkembangan selama masa remaja ini dibagi menjadi tiga tahapan, yaitu masa remaja awal usia sekitar 10-13 tahun, masa remaja pertengahan usia sekitar 14-17 tahun dan masa remaja akhir 17-20 tahun. Masa remaja adalah masa yang sangat rentan dalam melakukan perilaku seksual perilaku sendiri dipengaruhi oleh pengetahuan terkait seks bebas, apalagi pada remaja awal yang menginjak usia pubertas. Tujuan: penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mendeskripsikan pengetahuan tentang perilaku seks pada usia remaja 10-13 tahun di sekolah dasar Salatiga. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan pendekatan survei, di mana penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan pertanyaan terstruktur yang sama pada setiap orang. Tempat penelitian adalah Sekolah Dasar Eben Haezer Kota Salatiga, dengan populasi penelitian berjumlah 70 orang. Metode: pengumpulan data berupa kuesioner yang berisi pertanyaan-pertanyaan terkait karakteristik responden dan tentang perilaku seks bebas. Analisis univariat data mengukur tingkat pengetahuan responden tentang pengetahuan seks bebas dengan rentang nilai 0 – 100. Tingkat pengetahuan tinggi akan diberikan pada responden dengan nilai minimal ≥76, untuk tingkat pengetahuan sedang diberikan pada responden dengan nilai 50-75, terakhir untuk tingkat pengetahuan rendah diberikan pada responden dengan nilai ≤50. Hasil: penelitian didapatkan tingkat pengetahuan remaja awal tentang seks bebas masuk ketegori cukup sebanyak 46%. Kesimpulan: dari penelitian ini adalah gambaran pengetahuan anak usia 10-13 tahun tentang perilaku seks bebas tergolong dalam kategori cukup, dimana remaja awal belum memiliki pemahaman yang mendalam tentang perilaku seks bebas.Background: Teenagers are a group of people aged around 10-19 years. Growth and development during adolescence is divided into three stages, namely early adolescence around 10-13 years of age, mid-adolescence around 14-17 years of age, and late adolescence at 17-20 years. Adolescence is a period that is very vulnerable in carrying out sexual behavior. Self-behavior is influenced by knowledge related to free sex, especially in early adolescents who are at the age of puberty. Purpose: study aims to describe knowledge about sexual behavior in adolescents aged 10-13 years. Salatiga Elementary School. Method: research is quantitative research with a survey approach, in which research is conducted using the same structured questions for everyone. The research location was Eben Haezer Elementary School, Salatiga City, with a study population of 70 people. The data collection method was in the form of a questionnaire containing questions related to the characteristics of the respondents and about free sex behavior. Univariate data analysis measures the level of knowledge of respondents about free sex knowledge with a value range of 0-100. A high level of knowledge will be given to respondents with a minimum score of ≥76, for a moderate level of knowledge it will be given to respondents with a value of 50-75, finally for low knowledge levels it will be given to respondents with a value of ≤50. Results: showed that the level of early adolescent knowledge about free sex was in the sufficient category of 46%

    Analysis of Commercial Approach to Non-organic Domestic Waste Management at Settlement Besides Kampar River Case Study : Pulau Birandang Village and Alai Village in Kampar District, Riau Province, Indonesia

    The area of coverage of waste management services in some areas sometimes only focus on specific areas such as the capital province, district or city. Some areas of the region (district) still do not get special attention for waste management facilities services from local City Sanitation Department. In this study we raised two villages located on the banks of the Kampar River and examined the management of non-organic domestic waste in this area. We choose Pulau Birandang Village and Alai Village because of the habit this people to throw garbage like non-organic waste (such as paper, plastics, etc) to the Kampar river. This act is very dangerous for the sustainability of water security and can cause silting rivers. The aims of this research to analyze the influence of commercial approach as a solution to solve waste problem in both villages. Commercial approach is the method applied by giving incentives to people who are sort the non-organic waste according to its kind. Data for this study were collected from observation using 80 questionnaires to 80 respondents from both villages, the Pulau Birandang village and Alai village. Results of the analysis is also reinforced by opinión from the leaders of them (people) who are likely to reflect the wishes of the people too. The results from this study is the commercial approach (take and give system) which applied in this villages could increase people's enthusiasm in managing domestic waste by sorting waste before it is collected

    PENGAMATAN POST-MORTEM KUALITAS KULIT KAMBING DI KOTA MANADO

    Kulit ternak merupakan hasil ikutan ternak yang memiliki nilai ekonomis sebagai bahan baku utama berbagai produk industri kulit. Kualitas kuli tsegar dapat mengalami penurunan pada saat ternak masih hidup maupun setelah lepas dari tubuh ternak. Penyembelihan ternak kambing di Kota Manado cukup banyak namun belum memperhatikan kualitas kulitnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui seberapa jauh kualitas post-mortem kulit kambing di Kota Manado. Pengambilan data dilakukan di tempat pemotongan hewan pasar bersehati Kota Manado menggunakan metode observasi terhadap beberapa variabel yaitu cacat irisan, cacat penyakit kulit, dan cacat flek darah. Pengambilan sampel melalui purposive sampling serta penyajian data menggunakan statistik deskriptif. Hasil pengamatan menunjukkan bahwa cacat pada kulit kambing post mortem yang terbanyak adalah cacat irisan dan cacat penyakit kulit (± 60%) dan cacat flek darah paling sedikit (± 13,3%).
