    Ejercicios isométricos para el desarrollo de la fuerza de piernas en taekwondistas escolares

    It is the result of a diagnostic study of isometric strength, applied to taekwondo athletes from the Eide “Pedro Díaz Coello” school category. The athlete\u27s integral preparation program and current methodological documents were reviewed, verifying little explanation in the methodological guidelines for the development of isometric strength. Methods of scientific knowledge are used, such as analyticalsynthetic, historical-logical, survey, measurement, interview and statistical methods. The contributions obtained in this research are aimed at the development of isometric strength in Taekwondo. The form of evaluation of the result is established and the growth times of the isometric force are shown.Es el resultado de un estudio diagnóstico de la fuerza isométrica, aplicado a taekwondistas de la categoría escolar de la Eide “Pedro Díaz Coello”. Fue revisado el programa de preparación integral del deportista y documentos metodológicos de actualidad, comprobándose poca explicación en las orientaciones metodológicas para el desarrollo de la fuerza isométrica. Se emplean métodos del conocimiento científico, como analíticosintético, histórico-lógico, encuesta, medición, entrevista y los métodos estadísticos. Los aportes obtenidos en esta investigación está encaminada al desarrollo de la fuerza isométrica en el Taekwondo. Se establece la forma de evaluación del resultado y se muestran los tiempos de crecimiento de la fuerza isométrica

    Rapid evolutionary change of common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L) plastome, and the genomic diversification of legume chloroplasts

    <p>Abstract</p> <p>Background</p> <p>Fabaceae (legumes) is one of the largest families of flowering plants, and some members are important crops. In contrast to what we know about their great diversity or economic importance, our knowledge at the genomic level of chloroplast genomes (cpDNAs or plastomes) for these crops is limited.</p> <p>Results</p> <p>We sequenced the complete genome of the common bean (<it>Phaseolus vulgari</it>s cv. Negro Jamapa) chloroplast. The plastome of <it>P. vulgaris </it>is a 150,285 bp circular molecule. It has gene content similar to that of other legume plastomes, but contains two pseudogenes, <it>rpl</it>33 and <it>rps</it>16. A distinct inversion occurred at the junction points of <it>trn</it>H-GUG/<it>rpl</it>14 and <it>rps</it>19/<it>rps</it>8, as in adzuki bean <abbrgrp><abbr bid="B1">1</abbr></abbrgrp>. These two pseudogenes and the inversion were confirmed in 10 varieties representing the two domestication centers of the bean. Genomic comparative analysis indicated that inversions generally occur in legume plastomes and the magnitude and localization of insertions/deletions (indels) also vary. The analysis of repeat sequences demonstrated that patterns and sequences of tandem repeats had an important impact on sequence diversification between legume plastomes and tandem repeats did not belong to dispersed repeats. Interestingly, <it>P. vulgaris </it>plastome had higher evolutionary rates of change on both genomic and gene levels than <it>G. max</it>, which could be the consequence of pressure from both mutation and natural selection.</p> <p>Conclusion</p> <p>Legume chloroplast genomes are widely diversified in gene content, gene order, indel structure, abundance and localization of repetitive sequences, intracellular sequence exchange and evolutionary rates. The <it>P. vulgaris </it>plastome is a rapidly evolving genome.</p

    The Cauca department with its biogeographic diversity is one of the most diverse departments in bird species of Colombia. Looking for quantify the richness reported to the date and look at their geographical distribution, we made a information compilation about bird records in the department of Cauca by reviewing publications and ornithological collections in several world museums. We obtained a list of 1,102 species, including 18 endemic spp., 96 north migratory spp. and 41 nationally endangered spp.. This check list is a suitable tool for bird study in Cauca and is a reference to understand different bird topics in southwestern Colombia

    A deletion at Adamts9-magi1 Locus is associated with psoriatic arthritis risk

    Objective: Copy number variants (CNVs) have been associated with the risk to develop multiple autoimmune diseases. Our objective was to identify CNVs associated with the risk to develop psoriatic arthritis (PsA) using a genome-wide analysis approach. Methods: A total of 835 patients with PsA and 1498 healthy controls were genotyped for CNVs using the Illumina HumanHap610 BeadChip genotyping platform. Genomic CNVs were characterised using CNstream analysis software and analysed for association using the χ2 test. The most significant genomic CNV associations with PsA risk were independently tested in a validation sample of 1133 patients with PsA and 1831 healthy controls. In order to test for the specificity of the variants with PsA aetiology, we also analysed the association to a cohort of 822 patients with purely cutaneous psoriasis (PsC). Results: A total of 165 common CNVs were identified in the genome-wide analysis. We found a highly significant association of an intergenic deletion between ADAMTS9 and MAGI1 genes on chromosome 3p14.1 (p=0.00014). Using the independent patient and control cohort, we validated the association between ADAMTS9-MAGI1 deletion and PsA risk (p=0.032). Using next-generation sequencing, we characterised the 26 kb associated deletion. Finally, analysing the PsC cohort we found a lower frequency of the deletion compared with the PsA cohort (p=0.0088) and a similar frequency to that of healthy controls (p>0.3). Conclusions: The present genome-wide scan for CNVs associated with PsA risk has identified a new deletion associated with disease risk and which is also differential from PsC risk

    La asociación buildingSMART tiene como principal objetivo fomentar la eficacia en el sector de la construcción a través del uso de estándares abiertos de interoperabilidad con la metodología BIM (Building InformationMode-ling). Para ello, cuenta con una estructura de grupos de trabajo a nivel internacional para abordar diferentes cues-tiones al respecto. Sin embargo, en el ámbito del Patrimonio Cultural, no existe en la actualidad una aproximación internacional sobre el uso de BIM, y es por lo que buildingSMART Spanish Chapter ha puesto en marcha un grupo de trabajo abierto, denominado LEGEND–HBIM, y que está centrado en BIM aplicado al Patrimonio Cultural. De este modo, buildingSMART Spanish Chapter continua la laborde promover el uso de la metodología BIM a través de guías como esta, que supone una continuación de las guías uBIM publicadas en el año 2014

    Severe manifestations of SARS-CoV-2 in children and adolescents: from COVID-19 pneumonia to multisystem inflammatory syndrome: a multicentre study in pediatric intensive care units in Spain

    Background Multisystem inflammatory syndrome temporally associated with COVID-19 (MIS-C) has been described as a novel and often severe presentation of SARS-CoV-2 infection in children. We aimed to describe the characteristics of children admitted to Pediatric Intensive Care Units (PICUs) presenting with MIS-C in comparison with those admitted with SARS-CoV-2 infection with other features such as COVID-19 pneumonia. Methods A multicentric prospective national registry including 47 PICUs was carried out. Data from children admitted with confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infection or fulfilling MIS-C criteria (with or without SARS-CoV-2 PCR confirmation) were collected. Clinical, laboratory and therapeutic features between MIS-C and non-MIS-C patients were compared. Results Seventy-four children were recruited. Sixty-one percent met MIS-C definition. MIS-C patients were older than non-MIS-C patients (p = 0.002): 9.4 years (IQR 5.5–11.8) vs 3.4 years (IQR 0.4–9.4). A higher proportion of them had no previous medical history of interest (88.2% vs 51.7%, p = 0.005). Non-MIS-C patients presented more frequently with respiratory distress (60.7% vs 13.3%, p < 0.001). MIS-C patients showed higher prevalence of fever (95.6% vs 64.3%, p < 0.001), diarrhea (66.7% vs 11.5%, p < 0.001), vomits (71.1% vs 23.1%, p = 0.001), fatigue (65.9% vs 36%, p = 0.016), shock (84.4% vs 13.8%, p < 0.001) and cardiac dysfunction (53.3% vs 10.3%, p = 0.001). MIS-C group had a lower lymphocyte count (p < 0.001) and LDH (p = 0.001) but higher neutrophil count (p = 0.045), neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio (p < 0.001), C-reactive protein (p < 0.001) and procalcitonin (p < 0.001). Patients in the MIS-C group were less likely to receive invasive ventilation (13.3% vs 41.4%, p = 0.005) but were more often treated with vasoactive drugs (66.7% vs 24.1%, p < 0.001), corticosteroids (80% vs 44.8%, p = 0.003) and immunoglobulins (51.1% vs 6.9%, p < 0.001). Most patients were discharged from PICU by the end of data collection with a median length of stay of 5 days (IQR 2.5–8 days) in the MIS-C group. Three patients died, none of them belonged to the MIS-C group. Conclusions MIS-C seems to be the most frequent presentation among critically ill children with SARS-CoV-2 infection. MIS-C patients are older and usually healthy. They show a higher prevalence of gastrointestinal symptoms and shock and are more likely to receive vasoactive drugs and immunomodulators and less likely to need mechanical ventilation than non-MIS-C patients

    Fratricide-resistant CD1a-specific CAR T cells for the treatment of cortical T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia

    Relapsed/refractory T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL) has a dismal outcome, and no effective targeted immunotherapies for T-ALL exist. The extension of chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cells (CARTs) to T-ALL remains challenging because the shared expression of target antigens between CARTs and T-ALL blasts leads to CART fratricide. CD1a is exclusively expressed in cortical T-ALL (coT-ALL), a major subset of T-ALL, and retained at relapse. This article reports that the expression of CD1a is mainly restricted to developing cortical thymocytes, and neither CD34+ progenitors nor T cells express CD1a during ontogeny, confining the risk of on-target/off-tumor toxicity. We thus developed and preclinically validated a CD1a-specific CAR with robust and specific cytotoxicity in vitro and antileukemic activity in vivo in xenograft models of coT-ALL, using both cell lines and coT-ALL patient–derived primary blasts. CD1a-CARTs are fratricide resistant, persist long term in vivo (retaining antileukemic activity in re-challenge experiments), and respond to viral antigens.
