GESTÃO AMBIENTAL COMO PRÃTICA SOCIAL EM UMA ORGANIZAÇÃO PRODUTORA DE CELULOSE: UMA ANÃLISE INTERPRETATIVA
The objective of this paper is to study the socio-environmental management of a company in the cellulose industry based on the organization’s interaction in the social field. To achieve this, a theoretical-methodological model, based on an interpretative approach and on the understanding of environmental management as a social practice, was used. Triangulation of document analysis techniques and deep semi-open interviews were carried out. To interpret the results, content analysis was used to identify how managers understand the socially constructed relations between the organization and the environment. The results of this research also show that the organization is seeking to implement management practices that guarantee the efficiency of its production process while attempting to mitigate its environmental impacts, consolidating its image as an open and transparent company that operates according to the philosophy of corporative social responsibility.Agribusiness, Agricultural Finance, Industrial Organization, Socio-environmental management, social practice, organizations.,
DA EXPECTATIVA À AÇÃO: UMA ANÁLISE DA QUEBRA DA CONFIANÇA INTERORGANIZACIONAL EM UM HABITAT DE INOVAÇÃO | FROM EXPECTATION TO ACTION: AN ANALYSIS OF THE DISRUPTION OF INTERORGANIZATIONAL TRUST IN AN INNOVATION HABITAT
The purpose of this present rehearsal is the conceptual explanation of the method of content analysis used in the qualitative research and its application in the social sciences. Two theoretical roads are traveled for the construction of that purpose. The first is based on the reference to the Theory of the Social Representations and the second to the Theory of the Action. The argument that sustains the purpose is that both theories base the content analysis as method of analysis for the social actors declared speech. Initially it is accomplished a theoretical rising of authors who described the content analysis and theories and later is developed an analysis of some dissertations that made of the method in the research process in Post Graduation s Program in Administration of the Federal University of Lavras. It is important to understand that, the non-discussion on the other theories that embrace the theme doesn t reduce your importance.social representations, theory of the action, content analysis, Research Methods/ Statistical Methods,
This paper presents a theoretical reflection on the political dimension of the networks. It tried to analyze this format organization, privileging the political dimension of the relationships inter-organizational based on some concepts formulated by sociologist Pierre Bourdieu. The theoretical evidences revealed that such perspective can offer an alternative understanding to the concepts which don't put the idea about networks in political terms, considering cooperation and trust as driving forces which explains entirely the connections among the organizations. Considering the networks as a social field, this article enlarges the idea on governance. It takes into consideration not only the structural and objective aspects, but also emphasizes the subjective dimension that permeates the relations among the agents.

Meeting school halfway: contributions of performative approach to the continuing education of school administrators
The aim of this thesis is to understand and demonstrate the potential of the performative approach to discuss the daily life at school and to offer contributions to the continuing education of school administrators. In order to advance in the dialogicparticipatory approach of dialogical practices between researcher(s) and manager(s), a performative approach was adopted, based on the articulation of the contributions made by the works of Barad (2007, 2017) and Shotter (2013, 2014a, 2014b, 2016). One argues that the notions of intra-action and diffraction (BARAD, 2007, 2017) bring to the first scheme of the investigation issues about practices/doings/actions. This analytical perspective drives attention to the intra-active processes in action and also to the broad effects that occur, that is, the differences that rise and the differences that the knowledge production practices create. The empirical research was performed in a school from Public Education System of Vitória-ES and the data collection was possible through observation, focus group with members of the technical and administrative staff of one shift, informal conversations with school professionals, document analysis and drawing production. To respond the proposed objective, it was performed a qualitative research, using diffraction (BARAD, 2007, 2010, 2014) as methodological resource. This thesis brought to light material-discursive strengths which are important to certain materialization processes. The empirical data show that strengths, such as the scholar system/ flux, teachers’ and managers’ accountability for the students’ development, the “chaotic situation of public education” speech, society’s demands, poverty and the limitations of the professionals’ actions, have left traces on the subjects’ bodies, while they acted in the performance of specific configurations of management, teaching and the educational institution itself. From the theoreticalempirical articulations performed, it was possible to rethink the continuing education of school administrators through two main cuts. The first one highlights the need to explore the performative enactments of things and meanings. This brings to light materiality and other issues of interest, such as power-performativity. The second cut explores the social and material effects of performative relationalities in the school entanglement. Therefore, this thesis joins the efforts that have been done by researchers to recognize and explore how the dialogue is sensitive to social, political and economic conjunctures (PHILLIPS et al., 2013; PHILLIPS; NAPAN, 2019; PHILLIPS; SCHEFFMANN-PETERSEN, 2019), also attending to the callings for the development of alternative literature on practices that consider the human being as the primary agent (HULTIN; MÄHRING, 2017).O objetivo desta tese é compreender e evidenciar o potencial da abordagem performativa para discutir o cotidiano da escola e oferecer contribuições para a formação continuada de gestores escolares.

Global variation in postoperative mortality and complications after cancer surgery: a multicentre, prospective cohort study in 82 countries
© 2021 The Author(s). Published by Elsevier Ltd. This is an Open Access article under the CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 licenseBackground: 80% of individuals with cancer will require a surgical procedure, yet little comparative data exist on early outcomes in low-income and middle-income countries (LMICs). We compared postoperative outcomes in breast, colorectal, and gastric cancer surgery in hospitals worldwide, focusing on the effect of disease stage and complications on postoperative mortality. Methods: This was a multicentre, international prospective cohort study of consecutive adult patients undergoing surgery for primary breast, colorectal, or gastric cancer requiring a skin incision done under general or neuraxial anaesthesia. The primary outcome was death or major complication within 30 days of surgery. Multilevel logistic regression determined relationships within three-level nested models of patients within hospitals and countries. Hospital-level infrastructure effects were explored with three-way mediation analyses. This study was registered with ClinicalTrials.gov, NCT03471494. Findings: Between April 1, 2018, and Jan 31, 2019, we enrolled 15 958 patients from 428 hospitals in 82 countries (high income 9106 patients, 31 countries; upper-middle income 2721 patients, 23 countries; or lower-middle income 4131 patients, 28 countries). Patients in LMICs presented with more advanced disease compared with patients in high-income countries. 30-day mortality was higher for gastric cancer in low-income or lower-middle-income countries (adjusted odds ratio 3·72, 95% CI 1·70–8·16) and for colorectal cancer in low-income or lower-middle-income countries (4·59, 2·39–8·80) and upper-middle-income countries (2·06, 1·11–3·83). No difference in 30-day mortality was seen in breast cancer. The proportion of patients who died after a major complication was greatest in low-income or lower-middle-income countries (6·15, 3·26–11·59) and upper-middle-income countries (3·89, 2·08–7·29). Postoperative death after complications was partly explained by patient factors (60%) and partly by hospital or country (40%). The absence of consistently available postoperative care facilities was associated with seven to 10 more deaths per 100 major complications in LMICs. Cancer stage alone explained little of the early variation in mortality or postoperative complications. Interpretation: Higher levels of mortality after cancer surgery in LMICs was not fully explained by later presentation of disease. The capacity to rescue patients from surgical complications is a tangible opportunity for meaningful intervention. Early death after cancer surgery might be reduced by policies focusing on strengthening perioperative care systems to detect and intervene in common complications.
