La Producción institucional del desorden : una etnografía sobre los restos en y del «Barrio Chino» de Barcelona

Esta comunicación expondrá los resultados del trabajo etnográfico con los que se (de)muestra el interés por parte de las administraciones públicas, en lo que podríamos llamar "producción institucional del desorden". Con esta producción -simbólica pero también fáctica- del desorden, los gobiernos abonarían el terreno para futuras intervenciones urbanísticas y fiscalizadoras contra grandes capas de población y con especial acritud, sobre los grupos más descapitalizados. Como es imaginable, estas imágenes distorsionadas, pueden colaborar además, en que los responsables institucionales sobre la zona, elidan su responsabilidad a la hora de tratar aquellos habitantes como sujetos de pleno de derecho.This paper will present the results of ethnographic work with the interest of public administrations, in what we might call "institutional production of disorder" is demonstrated. With this symbolic production-but-factual disorder, governments would enable the groundwork for future town planning and supervisory interventions against large sections of the population with special bitterness on the most undercapitalized groups. As imaginable, these distorted images, they can also assist in the institutional charge of the area, avoid their responsibility to treat those people as full subjects of law

The Edge : Social Inclusion Through Space

El proceso de consolidación de asentamientos informales y su incorporación social y económica a la ciudad formal es el marco de esta investigación. Este trabajo plantea que aparte de la nueva infraestructura provista a las áreas urbanas marginadas es necesario evaluar la relación física entre los asentamientos informales y la ciudad formal en términos de conectividad espacial. Dada la existencia de fuertes límites urbanos aparentemente segregadores que rompen con la trama urbana de la ciudad, se han hecho una serie de análisis sintácticos, cuantificables, para medir la relación espacial real entre las dos situaciones urbanas. Se sugiere que el borde urbano como elemento físico segregador tiene la potencialidad de invertir su condición de barrera para convertirse en un espacio de encuentro y de integración.The process of consolidation of informal settlements and their social and economical incorporation to the formal city is the framework of this research. This paper is set out to suggest that apart from the supplied infrastructure to the marginalized urban a reas there is a need to evaluate the physical relation between the formal and informal settlements in terms of spatial connectivity. Because there seems to be segregating of urban borders that splits the whole urban grid, a series of syntactic analysis are made in order to measure the actual spatial relation between the two urban states. It is suggested that the urban edge as physical segregating element has the potentiality to invert its barrier condition to become a binding and integrating space.Peer Reviewe

Single-Board-Computer Clusters for Cloudlet Computing in Internet of Things

The number of connected sensors and devices is expected to increase to billions in the near future. However, centralised cloud-computing data centres present various challenges to meet the requirements inherent to Internet of Things (IoT) workloads, such as low latency, high throughput and bandwidth constraints. Edge computing is becoming the standard computing paradigm for latency-sensitive real-time IoT workloads, since it addresses the aforementioned limitations related to centralised cloud-computing models. Such a paradigm relies on bringing computation close to the source of data, which presents serious operational challenges for large-scale cloud-computing providers. In this work, we present an architecture composed of low-cost Single-Board-Computer clusters near to data sources, and centralised cloud-computing data centres. The proposed cost-efficient model may be employed as an alternative to fog computing to meet real-time IoT workload requirements while keeping scalability. We include an extensive empirical analysis to assess the suitability of single-board-computer clusters as cost-effective edge-computing micro data centres. Additionally, we compare the proposed architecture with traditional cloudlet and cloud architectures, and evaluate them through extensive simulation. Capital y sociedad: aproximaciones teóricas y empíricas

Under capital concept lies multiple meanings undercovered result of multiple semantic references that have the concept. This work will attempt to prove that capital, collecting the distinctions at the present day that provide it, become to the mechanism that make possible the structural coupling among interactions and functional systems and whose evolution run in parallel to the society's evolution established a theoretical passing through, with diverse empirical manifestations, between the differentiation and integration of society. It is posible in view the intrincate relationships that establish the communicative mechanism capital with generalized symbolic communication media, features that allow design general communicative frameworks of intersystemical relationships, allow likewise that will named communication assymetry.Bajo el concepto de capital se cobijan múltiples acepciones, fruto de las múltiples referencias con que cuenta semánticamente el concepto. Intentaremos demostrar que el capital, recogiendo las distinciones que provee en la actualidad, corresponde al mecanismo que posibilita el acoplamiento estructural entre los sistemas de interacción y los sistemas funcionales y cuya evolución corre en paralelo a la evolución de la sociedad estableciendo un tránsito teórico, con diversas manifestaciones empíricas, entre la diferenciación y la integración de la sociedad. Ello es posible dadas las intrincadas relaciones que establece el mecanismo comunicativo capital con los medios de comunicación simbólicamente generalizados, características que permiten diseñar comunicativamente marcos generales de relaciones intersistémicas, posibilitando asimismo lo que denominaremos asimetrías en la comunicación
