Communication abstract: Proceedings of the 5th International Congress of CiiEM - Reducing inequalities in Health and Society, held at Egas Moniz’ University Campus in Monte de Caparica, Almada, from June 16th to 18th, 2021.This is an open access article distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution License which permits unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited.Polymethylmethacrylate is the material of choice for prosthetic bases. Depending on the type of polymerization, acrylic resins may present some mechanical weaknesses that may lead to the failure of a prosthesis. The microhardness and flexural strength of a dental material determine its applicability. The objective of the present investigation was to evaluate the in vitro Knoop microhardness and flexural strength of a thermopolymerizable (Probase Hot) and an autopolymerizable (Probase Cold) resin, according to ISO 20759-1: 2013.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio

The Instituto de Coimbra was a scientific and literary academy funded in 1852 and having the last registered meeting minute in 1985. It was a multidisciplinary academy created to actively seek the development of Knowledge in the various fields of Science and Literature, aligned with the spirit of that time. The following essay proposes to address the issue of the Archeology in the Instituto de Coimbra through the postal correspondence received by that institution. From that perspective we will begin by presenting a small historical and organic review of the Instituto de Coimbra and its section of archeology. We will then talk about the Portuguese and Spanish joint congresses for the progress of Science and the role of the Instituto de Coimbra in the organization of those meetings. It will also be presented a small biography of each one of the archeologists that sent postal mail to the Instituto de Coimbra, followed lastly by the analysis of the letters and postal cards in question

The peri-implant mucosa may lack vascular supply, and histological observation, even without plaque, shows the presence of inflammatory cells. The objectives of this study were to assess the histopathological changes of the epithelium and connective tissue around the implant. Twenty patients of both genders were studied. Twelve weeks after implant placement, fragments of peri-implant gingival sulcus were harvested and processed for light microscopy. Group I (10): without clinical inflammatory signs (control); Group II (10): with clinical inflammatory signs. Histopathological parameters were analyzed and classified in 3 grades: mild, moderate or severe (grade 1, 2 or 3). Control group showed only slight changes, grade 1. In group II we found edema with moderate to severe cellular and nuclear changes. There are more women than men with all grades of inflammation. All patients with moderate edema are male and all patients with severe edema are female. A significant association (p=0.007) exists between these two variables. Significant differences were found when comparing the degree of inflammation with nuclear alterations (p=0.001) and the same results when comparing the degree of edema and nuclear changes (p<0.001). This study demonstrates that clinical examination can be used, with a small margin of error, to monitor and control the state of the peri-implant mucosa. In clinics the predisposition of female patients to greater degree of edema and inflammation should be accounted for.

Introduction: The assistance activity of respiratory rehabilitation was, in most countries, interrupted due to the pandemic caused by COVID-19. COVID-19 is a multisystem disease that can progress to acute respiratory failure syndrome, which can lead to serious sequelae. It is estimated that the survivors' sequelae could dominate clinicalpractice for years to come. Objective: To identify the main contributions to clinical practice in Respiratory Telerehabilitation in Pandemic.Methodology: Critical-reflective methodology, in which contributions from selected articles.Reflection Development: Starting early the post-hospital rehabilitation, before patients develop severe or limited ventilatory incapacity, is extremely important. Respiratory rehabilitation is an ongoing iterative process that requiresfrequent monitoring of the patient's functional capacity, used to guide and adjust treatment and care based on their progress. Its objectives are to reduce complications, minimize disability, preserve functionality, improve symptomsof dyspnea, anxiety, depression and improve quality of life. Telehealth and Telerehabilitation can be essential tools in providing care to these people. Conclusion: Telehealth and Telerehabilitation as digital practice tools can be fundamental allies in the implementation of respiratory rehabilitation programs, not only in times of suspension of in-person care activities, but also in order to improve access to differentiated health care and management of health resources.Introducción: La actividad asistencial de rehabilitación respiratoria se vio, en la mayoría de los países, interrumpida debido a la pandemia provocada por COVID-19.
