Approach for solving multimodal problems using Genetic Algorithms with Grouped into Species optimized with Predator-Prey
Over recent years, Genetic Algorithms have proven to be an appropriate tool for solving certain problems. However, it does not matter if the search space has several valid solutions, as their classic approach is insufficient. To this end, the idea of dividing the individuals into species has been successfully raised. However, this solution is not free of drawbacks, such as the emergence of redundant species, overlapping or performance degradation by significantly increasing the number of individuals to be evaluated. This paper presents the implementation of a method based on the predator-prey technique, with the aim of providing a solution to the problem, as well as a number of examples to prove its effectiveness

Scientific note: first global report of a bee nest built only with plastic
Agricultural plastic waste can alter wildlife diversity and behavior. Species survival will depend on their ability to adapt to new environmental conditions. In a seed-producing farm, a Megachile sp. nest made fully with plastic was found in a trap nest. This record represents the first one worldwide on revealing the use of plastic in the total construction of a bee nest.Fil: Allasino, Mariana L.. Instituto Nacional de Tecnología Agropecuaria. Horizontal balancing for mixed models assembly lines
Traditionally assembly lines have been used to produce high volumes of a single model. To take advantage of these lines in flexible manufacturing environments, we can implement mixed model lines which allow manufacturing different products of a family in the same line, however, its balancing requires different techniques that traditional. In this research, a literature review was made to analyze the factors affecting the mixed model lines in MTO environments and based on this we developed a mathematical optimization model to stabilize workloads making easier the decision about production sequences that are programmed on the line. The model was run in several instances and the results were significantly better than those obtained with a line balancing traditional method.
Assessing a fleet of robots for herbicide applications
Advanced technologies are critical for safe, site-specific and efficient control of pests
(weeds, pathogens and insects) in agricultural crops. Although the scientific and
technological bases of precision crop protection are mostly known and robust, the
commercial application of these new technologies is still very limited. To overcome
this situation, new farming methods and processes should be designed. Modern approaches
rely on existing information and communication technologies (ICT) and design
and construction of improved pest and crop sensors, along with enhanced pest
control actuators. Mobile platforms are essential to move the needed sensors and
actuators throughout the work field. Moreover, by using autonomous mobile platforms
equipped with innovative perception techniques, data processing systems and
tools for action, pest control procedures can be applied only if, when and where they
are needed, reducing costs, environmental damages and risks for farmers. This article
describes the RHEA fleet of robots highlighting the concepts and analyzing the
results achieved on the application of herbicide on wheat with a spray boom. This project is funded in part by the 7th Framework Programme of the European Union under

The development of participatory processes in the field of habitat is presented as a guarantee to take actions aimed at the sustainable construction of the territory. In this sense, knowledge generation processes in instances of interaction with the community are not only strengthened, they also allow us to understand the way in which the productive and social activities necessary for subsistence are developed and central in the configuration of identities. The present work advancesin the study of a research methodology on questions of community participation through the follow-up and conceptualization of the process of design and execution of the Community House in the Indigenous Community of Casas Viejas (Tafí del Valle, Tucumán). This activity takes place within the framework of broader processes that link from territorial and identity to technological aspect
