Programmverifikationssystem Tatzelwurm. Weiterentwicklung wΓ€hrend des KORSO-Projekts
Der Bericht enthΓ€lt eine kurze Darstellung der Entwicklungsarbeiten,
die im Rahmen des KORSO-Projekts erfolgt sind. Eine
Versionsverwaltung erlaubt den Einsatz des Verifikationssystems
wΓ€hrend der Programmentwicklungsphase. Zum Beweis der in allen
Phasen der Softwareentwicklung anfallenden Verifikations-
bedingungen wurde der Beweiser erheblich weiterentwickelt. Der
Benutzer hat die MΓΆglichkeit, eigene Beweisregeln zu definieren.
Eine Sprache zur Formulierung von Beweisplnen erleichtert die
wΓ€hrend der Entwicklung von korrekter Software oftmals notwendige
Wiederholung von Beweisen. Mit Hilfsmitteln zur Erzeugung von
Gegenbeispielen bei unbeweisbaren Formeln erhΓ€lt der Anwender
nΓΌtzliche Hinweise zur Lokalisierung von Fehlern
NADPH oxidase 4 protects against development of endothelial dysfunction and atherosclerosis in LDL receptor deficient mice
AIMS
Endothelial dysfunction is an early step in the development of atherosclerosis. Increased formation of superoxide anions by NADPH oxidase Nox1, 2, and 5 reduces nitric oxide availability and can promote endothelial dysfunction. In contrast, recent evidence supports a vasoprotective role of H2O2 produced by main endothelial isoform Nox4. Therefore, we analysed the impact of genetic deletion of Nox4 on endothelial dysfunction and atherosclerosis in the low-density lipoprotein receptor (Ldlr) knockout model.
METHODS AND RESULTS
Ex vivo analysis of endothelial function by Mulvany myograph showed impaired endothelial function in thoracic aorta of Nox4(-/-)/Ldlr(-/-) mice. Further progression of endothelial dysfunction due to high-fat diet increased atherosclerotic plaque burden and galectin-3 staining in Nox4(-/-)/Ldlr(-/-) mice compared with Ldlr(-/-) mice. Under physiological conditions, loss of Nox4 does not influence aortic vascular function. In this setting, loss of Nox4-derived H2O2 production could be partially compensated for by nNOS upregulation. Using an innovative optical coherence tomography approach, we were able to analyse endothelial function by flow-mediated vasodilation in the murine saphenous artery in vivo. This new approach revealed an altered flow-mediated dilation in Nox4(-/-) mice, indicating a role for Nox4 under physiological conditions in peripheral arteries in vivo.
CONCLUSIONS
Nox4 plays an important role in maintaining endothelial function under physiological and pathological conditions. Loss of Nox4-derived H2O2 could be partially compensated for by nNOS upregulation, but severe endothelial dysfunction is not reversible. This leads to increased atherosclerosis under atherosclerotic prone conditions

In the course of the study, the analysis of the provided geological data for decision making during project development was carried out. Modeling and generating moving trees from video
We present a probabilistic approach for the automatic production of tree models with convincing 3D appearance and motion. The only input is a video of a moving tree that provides us an initial dynamic tree model, which is used to generate new individual trees of the same type. Our approach combines global and local constraints to construct a dynamic 3D tree model from a 2D skeleton. Our modeling takes into account factors such as the shape of branches, the overall shape of the tree, and physically plausible motion. Furthermore, we provide a generative model that creates multiple trees in 3D, given a single example model. This means that users no longer have to make each tree individually, or specify rules to make new trees. Results with different species are presented and compared to both reference input data and state of the art alternatives
Towards Pervasive Supervision for Autonomic Systems
Abstract One of the key motivations for the provisioning of autonomic communication features in next generation services is to reduce the need of human inference for management tasks. This however means essentially that system control is delegated to the system itself, i.e., the system operator gives up control to a certain extent. The consequence is that autonomic systems might deviate from intended behavior, may show inconsistent or unwanted states and behavior. We propose an approach to develop control structures complementary to distributed, heterogeneous services. We concentrate on necessary properties of those control structures, and furthermore on issues like selfapplicability and self-evolution
