Ethical Consequences: Treatment of Stakeholders in Capitalistic Approach and Cooperative Approach to Business

    Get PDF
The study illustrates an interpretive glimpse on ethical concern in business corporations. The challenge towards Capitalistic approach to business has given birth to model called Cooperative approach to business. It has been deeply studied and analysed that both entities incur ethical dilemmas due to their nature of business operations. This paper intends to compare capitalistic approach to business (Microsoft Corporation) with Cooperative approach to business (Mondragon Corporation) to identify the ethical consequences that arise from how each entity treats various stakeholders. In recent chaotic business environment, surprisingly, a massive portion of students and many other target audiences in relation with business studies have been lacking the comparative awareness related to ethical consequences in a business that concerning individual profit maximization and a business that concerning social responsibilities across the borderline. This paper flashed characteristics of both approaches so that it can be addressed easily. Keywords: Business Ethics, Capitalistic Corporation, Cooperative Corporation, Ethical Dilemma, MCC

Reply to "Comment on 'Light-Front Schwinger Model at Finite Temperature'"

In hep-th/0310278, Blankleider and Kvinikhidze propose an alternate thermal propagator for the fermions in the light-front Schwinger model. We show that such a propagator does not describe correctly the thermal behavior of fermions in this theory and, as a consequence, the claims made in their paper are not correct.Comment: 3pages, version to be published in Phys. Efficacy of thermal barrier coated superalloy used in turbines

    Get PDF
The life of thermal barrier coating prior to spallation is dominated by micro cracking in both the thermally grown oxide and the yttria stabilized zirconia top coat. The damage generated by this microcracking is expected to be a primary life-limiting factor. High temperature force controlled fatigue testing of thermal barrier coated (TBC), bond coated only and bare Superni C263 superalloy, employed for manufacturing the combustion chamber of aero turbines, were conducted in air. Additionally, several accelerated creep tests on the TBC coated and on the bare Supemi C263 alloy were carried out in air

Quantization in a General Light-front Frame

In this paper, we study the question of quantization of quantum field theories in a general light-front frame. We quantize scalar, fermion as well as gauge field theories in a systematic manner carrying out the Hamiltonian analysis carefully. The decomposition of the fields into positive and negative frequency terms needs to be done carefully after which we show that the (anti) commutation relations for the quantum operators become frame independent. The frame dependence is completely contained in the functions multiplying these operators in the field decomposition. We derive the propagators from the vacuum expectation values of the time ordered products of the fields.Comment: 14 pages, revtex, version to be published in Phys. Rev. D with the discussion of Abelian field quantization replaced by the non-Abelian field and some comments added on the Mandelstam-Liebbrandt prescriptio

Solid Wastes Recyling through Sinter-Status at Tata Steel

    Get PDF
Integrated steel plants generate several by-products rich in iron, flux and fuel values, categorised as waste. These by-products contain, besides mineral values, hazar-dous constituents causing damages to the environment. The environmental quality consciousness, the product cost competitiveness and high mineral values of these wastes have resulted in attempts to recyle these materials. Recycling recovers the mineral values, preserves the dec-reasing natural resources and deteriorating environment and eliminates the disposal cost. Sinter plant provides an avenue for recycling of these wastes. Recycling decreases the cost of sinter and hence the cost of steel produced. Present paper outlines the status of waste generation, their characteristics, and the quantity being recycled via the sinter plant at Tata Steel.Furthermore, it highlights the problems, which restricts its further recycling and discusses its influence on cost and quality of sinter

Mummification in a Bitch: A case report

A pug aged 5 years was admitted in the Lyka pet clinic with difficulty in parturition. Breeding history of the dog was collected from the owner. X-ray was conducted which confirmed the presence of foetus. The bitch was manually handled to relieve the Dystocia following intravenous drip of N.S.S. and oxytocin. In the vent of unsuccessful attempt the bitch was surgically operated for C.S. and six fetuses of which four normal and two mummified were relieved. Routine post operative care were undertaken and the bitch recovered normally with out any complication. Photographic recording was also made during the recovery of mummified foetus

Near-infrared studies of the 2010 outburst of the recurrent nova U Scorpii

We present near-infrared (near-IR) observations of the 2010 outburst of U Sco. JHK photometry is presented on 10 consecutive days starting from 0.59 d after outburst. Such photometry can gainfully be integrated into a larger data base of other multiwavelength data which aim to comprehensively study the evolution of U Sco. Early near-IR spectra, starting from 0.56 d after outburst, are presented and their general characteristics discussed. Early in the eruption, we see very broad wings in several spectral lines, with tails extending up to ∼10 000 km s−1 along the line of sight; it is unexpected to have a nova with ejection velocities equal to those usually thought to be exclusive to supernovae. From recombination analysis, we estimate an upper limit of [inline image] for the ejected mass
