Trastorno del desarrollo de la coordinación

    Get PDF

Calibration and performance tests of detectors for laser-accelerated protons

    Get PDF
We present the calibration and performance tests carried out with two detectors for intense proton pulses accelerated by lasers. Most of the procedures were realized with proton beams of 0.46-5.60 MeV from a tandem accelerator. One approach made use of radiochromic films, for which we calibrated the relation between optical density and energy deposition over more than three orders of magnitude. The validity of these results and of our analysis algorithms has been confirmed by controlled irradiation of film stacks and reconstruction of the total beam charge for strongly non-uniform beam profiles. For the spectral analysis of protons from repeated laser shots, we have designed an online monitor based on a plastic scintillator. The resulting signal from a photomultiplier directly measured on a fast oscilloscope is especially useful for time-of-flight applications. Variable optical filters allow for suppression of saturation and an extension of the dynamic range. With pulsed proton beams we have tested the detector response to a wide range of beam intensities from single particles to 3 ×105 protons per 100 ns time interval.Project funded by the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness and co-funded with FEDER's funds within the INNPACTO 2011 program under Grant No. IPT-2011-0862-900000. Characterization of preovulatory follicular fluid secretome and its effects on equine oocytes during in vitro maturation

12 Pág.In vitro maturation (IVM) of oocytes is clinically used in horses to produce blastocysts but current conditions used for horses are suboptimal. We analyzed the composition of equine preovulatory follicular fluid (FF) secretome and tested its effects on meiotic competence and gene expression in oocytes subjected to IVM. Preovulatory FF was obtained, concentrated using ultrafiltration with cut-off of 10 kDa, and stored at -80 °C. The metabolic and proteomic composition was analyzed, and its ultrastructural composition was assessed by cryo-transmission microscopy. Oocytes obtained post-mortem or by ovum pick up (OPU) were subjected to IVM in the absence (control) or presence of 20 or 40 μg/ml (S20 or S40) of secretome. Oocytes were then analyzed for chromatin configuration or snap frozen for gene expression analysis. Proteomic analysis detected 255 proteins in the Equus caballus database, mostly related to the complement cascade and cholesterol metabolism. Metabolomic analysis yielded 14 metabolites and cryo-transmission electron microscopy analysis revealed the presence of extracellular vesicles (EVs). No significant differences were detected in maturation rates among treatments. However, the expression of GDF9 and BMP15 significantly increased in OPU-derived oocytes compared to post-mortem oocytes (fold increase ± SEM: 9.4 ± 0.1 vs. 1 ± 0.5 for BMP15 and 9.9 ± 0.3 vs. 1 ± 0.5 for GDF9, respectively; p < 0.05). Secretome addition increased the expression of TNFAIP6 in S40 regardless of the oocyte source. Further research is necessary to fully understand whether secretome addition influences the developmental competence of equine oocytes.Projects PID2020-112723RB-I00 and PID2021-122507OB-I00 funded by MCIN1/AEI/10.13039/501100011033 and by “ERDF A way of making Europe”. The new multi-frequency instrument (MFI2) for the QUIJOTE facility in Tenerife

    Get PDF
The QUIJOTE (Q-U-I joint Tenerife) experiment combines the operation of two radio-telescopes and three instruments working in the microwave bands 10?20 GHz, 26-36 GHz and 35-47 GHz at the Teide Observatory, Tenerife, and has already been presented in previous SPIE meetings (Hoyland, R. J. et al, 2012; Rubiño-Martín et al., 2012). The Cosmology group at the IAC have designed a new upgrade to the MFI instrument in the band 10-20 GHz. The aim of the QUIJOTE telescopes is to characterise the polarised emission of the cosmic microwave background (CMB), as well as galactic and extra-galactic sources, at medium and large angular scales. This MFI2 will continue the survey at even higher sensitivity levels. The MFI2 project led by the Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias (IAC) consists of five polarimeters, three of them operating in the sub-band 10?15 GHz, and two in the sub-band 15-20 GHz. The MFI2 instrument is expected to be a full two-three times more sensitive than the former MFI. The microwave complex correlator design has been replaced by a simple correlator design with a digital back-end based on the latest Xilinx FPGAs (ZCU111). During the first half of 2019 the manufacture of the new cryostat was completed and since then the opto-mechanical components have been designed and manufactured. It is expected that the cryogenic front-end will be completed by the end of 2022 along with the FPGA acquisition and observing system. This digital system has been employed to be more robust against stray ground-based and satellite interference, having a frequency resolution of 1 MHz.The MFI2 instrument is being developed by the Instituto de Astrofisica de Canarias (IAC), with an instrumental participation from the Universidad Politecnica de Cartagena (UPCT). Partial financial support is provided by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation (MICINN), under the projects AYA2017-84185-P, IACA15-BE-3707, EQC2018-004918-P and the FEDER Agreement INSIDE-OOCC (ICTS-2019-03-IAC-12). Adolescentes y drogas : su relación con la delincuencia

    Get PDF
