Cartan Normal Conformal Connections from Pairs of 2nd Order PDE's
We explore the different geometric structures that can be constructed from
the class of pairs of 2nd order PDE's that satisfy the condition of a vanishing
generalized W\"{u}nschmann invariant. This condition arises naturally from the
requirement of a vanishing torsion tensor. In particular, we find that from
this class of PDE's we can obtain all four-dimensional conformal Lorentzian
metrics as well as all Cartan normal conformal O(4,2) connections.
To conclude, we briefly discuss how the conformal Einstein equations can be
imposed by further restricting our class of PDE's to those satisfying
additional differential conditions.Comment: 39 page
In this paper trade to the interior of the Spanish Empire is analysed. Commodity prices during a 140 years span are described and the price convergence process between Spain and Peru, and between Peru and Chile is investigated. The main finding is that despite technological, trade and institutional improvements, price
convergence between Spain and Peru was delayed by wars during the eighteenth
century. Conversely, price convergence is found between Peru and Chile. The absence of wars in the Pacific Ocean can explain the difference in price behavior .Publicad
Evaluate if hyponatremia has value to predict intrahospitalary
mortality in cirrhotic patients at the Belen Hospital of Trujillo
Methods: A clinical trial was carried out with 100 patients with
decompensated cirrhosis distributed in 2 groups: with or without
hyponatremia.
Results: The frequency of mortality between with and without
hyponatremia were 40% and 14 % respectively. Hyponatremia risk is
related to mortality was 2.86 (p<0.05) with a sensibility, especificity,
predictive positive and negative value were 75%, 59%, 40% y 80%.
Conclusions: Hyponatremia has value to predict intrahospitalary
mortality in cirrhotic patients at the Belen Hospital. There was not
significant difference among the groups regarding the age, sex or
functional classTesi
Within the context of the Cold War, Brazil and Argentina experienced national security dictatorships responsible for a many violations of human rights. With the transitions, Argentina and Brazil returned to democracy although persistence of a series of authoritarian legacies can be observed in the new social-political scenario. The present study analyzes: a) which legacies of authoritarianism currently remain in these countries; b) which public policies were pursued to deal with the crimes committed by the authoritarian regime; and c) how the maintenance of these authoritarian legacies can have repercussions in the quality of democracy.

Subject Preference and Ergativity
This paper presents the first-ever processing experiment on relativization in Avar, an ergative language with prenominal relatives. The results show no processing difference between the ergative subject gap and the absolutive object gap. The absolutive subject gap, however, is processed much faster. We propose a principled explanation for this result. On the one hand, Avar has a subject preference (cf. the Accessibility Hierarchy, Keenan and Comrie, 1977), which would make the processing of the ergative and the absolutive subject gap easier than the processing of the absolutive object gap. On the other hand, the ergative DP in a relative clause serves as a strong cue that allows the parser to project the remainder of the clause, including the absolutive object DP (cf. Marantz, 1991, 2000); such morphological cueing favors the absolutive object gap. Thus, two processing preferences, the one for subject relatives and the other for morphologically cued clauses, cancel each other out in terms of processing difficulty. As a result, reading time results for the ergative subject and absolutive object relative clauses are very similar. The overall processing results are significantly different from what is found in accusative languages, where subject preference and morphological cueing reinforce each other, leading to a strong transitive subject advantage.Linguistic
The Perceptions and Experiences of Human Resources Recruiters Regarding Linkedin as an Online Personal Branding Representation of Recent Business Graduates
This study aimed to explore the perceptions and experiences of Human Resource Recruiters regarding LinkedIn as an online personal branding representation of recent business program graduates by using a phenomenological approach. The population of interest comprises Human Resource Recruiters that use LinkedIn and hire recent business graduates. The recordings and or transcripts of the interviews were utilized to conduct an interpretative phenomenological analysis to identify broader themes across the data set. The identified themes follow the same order as the questions conducted during the sessions. The five themes that emerged are (1) Social platforms utilized by HR recruiters, (2) HR recruiters\u27 experiences of using LinkedIn in recruiting recent business graduates, (3) The LinkedIn profile and personal branding, (4) LinkedIn impression management behaviors observed by HR recruiters as best practices by job candidates, and (5) HR recruiters recommendations for managing their profile to communicate a solid personal brand
Sobre el topónimo beocio Θεσπιαί
According to Pausanias (9,26,6), the Boeotian place name Thespiae (Θεσπιαί) stems either from Thespius (Θέσπιος), the mythic founder of the place, or from Thespia (Θέσπεια), daughter of Asopus. Its lexical basis may be the same as the epic word θέσπις ‘inspired by gods’. The aim of this paper is to examine this hypothetical etymological connexion which has not yet been studied in depth in order to suggest a plausible origin to the place name Θεσπιαί.
