The Study of the Entrepreneur’s Values and Knowledge: Influence in Growth Expectations
This study examines how entrepreneur’s values and knowledge can influence growth expectations in new technology-ventures. The study analyses six Spanish cases with different level of growth expectations in their first years and with different characteristics in the entrepreneurial team. Our research reveals that entrepreneur’s knowledge is not a factor that helps to differentiate the level of growth in this specific sector. However, we found certain values present in those new ventures with a higher growth expectations, mainly independence and wealth. The values that were not related are the need of exploitation and security. Finally, we draw a model to understand the relationship between entrepreneur’s values and knowledge and their impact on new technology venture growth expectations
Legal form and risk exposure in Spanish firms
It is well-known that the legal form adopted by a firm determines the type of legal responsibility borne by its owners in case of bankruptcy. In this paper we argue that a firm under a limited liability status should be characterized by a higher than average bankruptcy probability, which ultimately captures their risk exposure when output is affected by exogenous shocks. To test this prediction we extend Lee’s (1976) switching regressions model to a panel dataset of 1313 Spanish
firms from 1990–1994, separating them into corporate and entrepreneurial forms
(with/without limited liability, respectively). We consider both random effects and fixed effects panel data models, taking into account the potential endogeneity between risk exposure and the legal form choice. Our results confirm the hypothesis that firms under limited liability have significant higher risk exposure than firms under unlimited liability.Data and financial support provided by the Fundación Empresa Pública (Madrid)Publicad

Bal images analysis for their automatic quantification
Finalmente, obtenemos un 70% de puntuación global IOU aprox. en la validación de la CNN.Bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) images are a medical test from which different pathologies can be extracted based on their cellular distribution. Laplace Synthesis Validation through Measurements on Underground Transmission Cables
Underground cable electrical parameters ZY as well as their modal propagation characteristics are highly frequency dependent which in certain cases turns its analysis difficult. To perform electromagnetic transient studies of cables the calculation of electrical parameters is essential to obtain the waves propagation solution through the multiconductor system. At the same time this requires to solve the inverse Laplace transform on a numerical form. Although the analytic Laplace transform has an indisputable accuracy, the application of its numerical version up-to-date has not been completely accepted. A complete methodology is developed in this work to guide analyst engineers or graduate students in the calculation of electromagnetic transients of underground cable systems. Finally, to help the validation of the numerical inverse Laplace transform a scaled prototype experiment is performed in the laboratory in which a transient step-response at the remote end of an energized conductor is measured
olvidos y consecuentemente atrasos indeseados.
A partir
“monitorizar los resultados” a “hacer que la calidad se cumpla”.Earth movement as many other items in the building business has a
constructive process that can oscillate depending on the intrinsic factors of each
type of work, having the duty to comply with current standards. Today we see
that the fulfillment of these procedures it´s in the hands of the technical inspection,
who must give constantly his compliance at the process. The experience can also
reveal to us that this process is not carried out optimally generating delays by poor
implementation and higher accident rates than those that we could get fulfilling a
checklist based on 3 things; Chilean law, Mining standards, and the
specifications that each work demands
The benefits of this tool is to generate a document of support which can
help at the professionals who confront an earth movement and need to fulfill with
standars of quality, accidents and standardization. With this we could give
the acquiescence at the processes backed by documents which prove the
correct action of workers and construction professionals, avoiding
misunderstandings, omissions and negligence and therefore delays which are
directly related with the costs.
A reliable and accurate communication on the work site, among the
specialists inside and outside the field, either the technical area, engineering,
supply or assembly, ensures that we can provide value at the customer and also
reduce the remains.
This formality of quality and continuous improvement is focused first of all
to be aware that part of our activities will be unproductive and will not add value
from the customer's perspective. From there, we conducted a process control
which it´s redefined as “going from monitoring results to make things happen"
Observación Marina en Europa (EMODNET) o el Sistema de Información de las Aguas Europeas (WISE).The European Environment Agency (EEA) in collaboration with the European Commission and the Member States
of the European Union is involved in an ambitious process of integrating the existing databases on environmental
information, in order to create a tool capable to manage the different European policies implementation and
application affecting the coastal and marine environment in Europe.
The policy development affecting this environmental context, amongst other initiatives the Directive INSPIRE, the
implementation of SEIS and the Recommendations on Integrated Coastal Zone Management (ICZM), require a
higher knowledge and monitoring initiatives for the environmental information, as well as the socio-economic aspects
which support the integrated analysis for integrated and sustainable responses to concrete needs. The
environmental information monitoring requires efficient technological solutions and information systems, some of
them are already operative at European level, such as the European Marine Observation and Data Network
(EMODNET) and the Water Information System for Europe (WISE)
