Today, energy conservation is a priority. This is due to the shortage of energy resources, the growth of their cost and global environmental problems. The production of compressed air is a wery costly and power-consuming process. One of the areas of energy saving is to improve the quality of the air preparation equipment, in particular, to increase the energy efficiency of this type of devices such as adsorption dryers for compressed air. Reduction of unnecessary energy losses in this sphere is possible due to the use of innovative technologies. The functioning of the adsorption dryer is associated with the consumption of compressed air, which is consumed during the periodic regeneration of the adsorbent. The practical value of the research includes an explanation of the regularity of the influence of the temperature drop, at which the adsorbent regeneration process takes place, on the reduction of the airflow loss during the proceedings of the dryer

Internally Displaced Persons and Their Legal Status: The Ukrainian Context

    Get PDF
The article examines the issues of social protection of internally displaced people as a new subject of social-security law. The legal foundations with regard to these individuals are on their way, under development. Ukraine’s law On the Rights and Freedoms of Internally Displaced People is established as the initial indicator that this subject is becoming recognised as a field of social-security law – specifically, internally displaced people and determining legal regulation. This law presents a definition of ‘internally displaced people’, presents a compilation of their rights and obligations, determines the legal status of such people, provides guarantees of social protection, and addresses related matters. Nonetheless, several issues still require legal regulation. The authors conclude that, for the qualitative improvement of legal regulation of the status of IDPs and their social protection, there must be complex interaction within both legal science and legislative entities and that bodies with special competence in this field must be established to engage in dialogue with civil and international organisations

The issues of efficiency improvement of manufacturing crankshafts in order to ensure their reliability and performance criteria are the priorities in modern production of internal combustion engines. Using the capabilities of modern special grinding machines can improve the quality of machining and obtain the necessary running characteristics of crankshafts. In work the questions connected with development of a method of calculation of rigidity of crankshafts for increase of accuracy of their machining, reliability and performance criteria’s are considered. Based on the proposed methodology, numerical calculations have performed and the possibility of determining the deflections and crankshafts rigidity in any section have been justified. The original construction of the following grinding steady rest for CNC grinding machines specified for machining the crankshaft main bearing journal and connecting rod journal is proposed. The construction design of the device allows for compensating the influence of the cutting force on the elastic strain of the part, depending on the change in its rigidity. The practical value of the research includes in develop recommendations for determining the optimal parameters for the round infeed grinding cycle of the crank pins from the point of view of productivity and accuracy

Chemistry of gold(I, III) complexes with organic ligands as potential MOCVD precursors for fabrication of thin metallic films and nanoparticles

The present review deals with the chemistry of complexes of gold(I) and gold(III) with organic ligands. Compounds classified according to the type of coordinating ligands and donor atoms are considered from the point of view of their potential application as precursors in the MOCVD process, which attract considerable scientific interest. This method has undeniable advantages over other technologies (precision multi-parameter monitoring in order to control the properties of the obtained coatings, high utilization of precursors, simple equipment design, etc.) and can be used to produce thin films and gold nanoparticles with desired characteristics on different types of surfaces of complex geometries for various engineering applications. The following main results published to date are summarized and analyzed in this review: (a) chemical approaches to synthesis, structural characteristics and properties of the main classes of organic compounds of gold (I, III), (b) thermal stability of gold compounds in solid state, (c) temperature-dependent measurements of vapor pressure used for the characterization of gold compound volatility, (d) thermolysis processes of gold complex vapor on heated substrates, (е) examples of modern high-precision applications of gold precursors in MOCVD technique of metallic layers and nanoparticles. Mechanisms and growth processes of gold films and nanoparticles, their composition, structure, and characteristics are also considered

Thin films of fluorinated 3d-metal phthalocyanines as chemical sensors of ammonia: an optical spectroscopy study

    Get PDF
A comparative study of the sensor response toward gaseous ammonia of hexadecafluorinated 3d-metal phthalocyanine (MPcF16, MCu(II), Co(II), Zn(II), Ni(II)) thin films was performed using complementary experimental (viz., surface plasmon resonance, SPR, and IR absorption spectroscopy) along with theoretical (density functional theory calculations, DFT) techniques. SPR measurements revealed changes of both thickness and optical parameters (refraction indices and extinction coefficients) of the MPcF16 films caused by adsorption of NH3. The MPcF16 species studied exhibited the following order of sensor response: ZnPcF16>CoPcF16≥CuPcF16>NiPcF16. A good correlation was found between the DFT calculated (B3LYP/6-311++G(2df,p)) binding energies, experimentally measured shift of the selected IR bands, and the optical sensor response. Apart from this, we performed a detailed assignment of all intense..

Cadmium-induced oxidative damage and protective action of fractioned red beet (Beta vulgaris) root juice in chickens

ArticleCadmium (Cd) is one of the most dangerous environmental bioaccumulative pollutants that affects many organs in humans and animals. Present investigation was conducted to evaluate the protective effect of fractioned red beetroot juice on Cd - induced oxidative stress in chickens. The named red beetroot juice fraction (BJF) was received by juice ultrafiltration. Per oral administration of BJF for 10 days followed by dietar y Cd exposure (50 mg kg - 1 of diet) was evaluated in the in vivo experiments in chickens. The prominent increase of Cd concentration in blood plasma, liver and kidney provoked the rise of oxidative processes activity in organs. BJF treatment attenuated the Cd - induced oxidative stress. The changes of oxidative stress markers - the reduction of hepatic and kidney malondialdehyde amount, the increase of glutathionperoxidase level in liver and blood catalase activity indicated the possible antioxidative influenc e of BJF. Chickens exposed to Cd showed no evidence of clinical toxicity, but exhibited some features of adverse action of this heavy metal. The increase of uric acid concentration in blood serum is associated with protein catabolic processes intensified b y Cd affect. Suppressive effect of Cd on the immune response in chickens manifested in alteration of cell and humoral immunity parameters. The data of the most investigated oxidative stress markers, biochemical and immunological indices in Cd - exposed chick ens were almost back to the values, when received BJF per os during 10 days. Administration of fractioned red beetroot juice to Cd - treated chickens prevented the oxidative impact of this heavy metal and provided immunomodulating effect

PARTICULARS OF ADSORBENT REGENERATION WITH THE USE OF MICROWAVE ENERGY

Energy conservation issues are acute in the world. Compressed air is widely used in the modern industrial production. The production of compressed air is a very energy-intensive process, since most of the energy, which is expended by the compressor, passes into the energy of heating. Compressed air cannot be used in modern production without a prior drying and cleaning. Industrial dryer’s air losses is up to 20% of compressed air additionally. Therefore, the issue of saving air during its drying stage is important. In the presented article, the thermal and aerodynamic processes that occur in the classical adsorption tower with the most modern design are considered. The processes that occur in the adsorption column with the microwave regeneration of the adsorbent are also considered. A comparative analysis of these constructions from the point of view of energy saving is made
