    Analysis of Poverty Determinants in The Bali Province 2015-2020

    Poverty is a long-term problem in economic development in a country, especially developing countries. This study aims to analyze the effect of economic growth, population, the number of unemployed (TPT), minimum wage, and human development index (IPM) on poverty in Bali Province. The approach used in this research is quantitative with secondary data obtained from the Indonesian Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) for 2015-2020. The method used to analyze the factors that influence poverty in Bali Province is panel data regression. Based on the results of the study showed that partial economic growth has no effect on poverty. This condition occurs because economic growth in Bali Province has not been inclusive. The minimum wage and the Human Development Index have a negative effect on poverty so an increase in the minimum wage and the HDI will reduce poverty significantly. The number of unemployed and the total population have a positive effect on poverty in the Province of Bali. Simultaneously economic growth, population, number of unemployed (TPT), minimum wage, and human development index (IPM) have a significant effect on poverty in Bali Province

    LIVELIHOOD STRATEGY OF FORMER FEMALE MIGRANT WORKERS

    The life of female former migrant workers after working abroad is an interesting phenomenon to study. The contradiction in the conditions of life when working as a TKI and after working demands a strategy to maintain its survival. The purpose of this study is to analyze the survival strategies of women migrant workers after not working abroad. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive study and was conducted in Sarimulyo Village, Kebonagung District, Demak Regency. The type of data used is primary data. The technique of collecting data by interviewing direct sources. The research findings show that women former migrant workers use the livelihood strategy, namely human capital by relying on foreign language skills to teach lessons and courses as well as baking skills. Natural capital by managing rice fields and gardens. Social capital by borrowing from relatives and cooperatives. Financial capital using savings. Physical capital is by utilizing the paddy slip tool left by our parents and cake-making equipment to make pastries

    Pengaruh Ekspor, Investasi, Inflasi Dan Pengangguran Terhadap Pertumbuhan Ekonomi Di Indonesia Tahun 1990-2020

    This study analyzed the effect of export, investment, inflation, and unemployment to the constant gross domestic product (GDP) used to see the economic growth in Indonesia in 1990 to 2020. Time series data in this study are analyzed using ECM (Error Correction Model) to investigate the long-run and short-run effects of the independent variables, including export, investment, inflation, and unemployment, on GDP. The results suggest that there is no evidence to conclude that export affects GDP significantly in both long-run and short-run period. In terms of short-run period, investment gives positif effects on GDP, but inflation and unemployment are associated with negatif effects on GDP. Regarding long-run period, only investment and inflation significantly gives positive effects on GD

    PELUANG KERJA PESERTA PELATIHAN MENJAHIT Studi kasus: Balai Latihan Kerja di Kota Salatiga

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat bagaimana terciptanya peluang kerja setelah adanya pelatihan menjahit yang diselenggarakan oleh Dinas Perindustrian dan Tenaga Kerja Kota Salatiga Tahun 2017. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara mendalam. Data didapatkan dengan melakukan wawancara kepada informan kunci yaitu sebanyak 6 orang yang terdiri dari 5 orang alumni peserta pelatihan menjahit dan 1 orang instruktur pelatihan menjahit. Peluang kerja peserta pelatihan menjahit terbagi menjadi 5 tingkatan yang berbeda. Tingkatan pertama merupakan yang tertinggi, yaitu peserta pelatihan menjahit mampu membuka usaha mandiri (wirausaha), menawarkan jasa menjahit dan membuka peluang dan kesempatan kerja bagi orang lain. Tingkatan kedua peluang kerja peserta pelatihan menjahit yaitu peserta pelatihan menjahit yang mampu membuka usaha mandiri serta mampu membuka peluang kerja bagi orang lain. Tingkatan ketiga yaitu peserta pelatihan menjahit yang mampu membuka usaha mandiri sebagai penjahit. Tingkatan keempat adalah peserta pelatihan menjahit yang mempunyai usaha menjahit sebagai pekerjaan sampingan. Sementara tingkatan terakhir peluang kerja peserta pelatihan menjahit yaitu peserta pelatihan yang memiliki pekerjaan tetapi tidak terkait dengan pelatihan menjahit yang telah diterima. Masing-masing tingkatan kategori keberhasilan para peserta dipengaruhi oleh materi pelatihan yang tidak hanya mengajarkan ketrampilan menjahit secara teori maupun praktek, tetapi juga didukung dengan materi pelatihan tentang wirausaha dan kepribadian profesional. Kata Kunci: peluang kerja, pelatihan, peserta pelatihan, menjahit Abstract This study aims to understand how the employment opportunities were after a sewing training organized by the Department of Industry and Labor in Salatiga City in 2017. This research was done in a descriptive qualitative approach by using in-depth interview technique to collect the data. Data obtained by interviewing 6 key informants, consisting 5 former sewing training trainees and 1 instructor. The job opportunities for the trainees were divided into 5 levels. The first level was the highest, where the trainee was able to become an entrepreneur in sewing business, offering sewing services and providing employment opportunities. The second level was when the the trainee was able to run an independent sewing business and provide employment opportunities. The third level was when the trainee was able to start sewing business as tailors. The fourth level was when the trainee was able to have a sewing business as a side job. Finally, the fifth level was when the trainee got a job, but not necessarily related to sewing training. Each level of success category was influenced by the training materials which did not only teach about sewing skills, both in theory and practice, but also supported by entrepreneurship and professional personalities materials

    Local Knowledge “Makiriwo” in The Sustainable Livelihood Perspective (Case of Apulea Coconut Farm Community in North Halmahera Regency, Indonesia)

    This study aims to describe a portrait of Apulea community in North Halmahera District which is located in the border region between Indonesia-Philippines and North Halmahera-West Halmahera District. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach that specifically describes a survival strategy for the sustainability of the livelihoods of coconut farmers in the village of Apulea in North Halmahera Regency, Indonesia. Retrieval of research data using in-depth interview techniques, document observation and study. The informants involved in this study were selected selectively based on livelihoods and experience using social capital and cultural capital as a strategy to achieve livelihood sustainability. The results of this study indicate that local knowlidge makiriwo is embodied in natural resource capital and social capital that is used to sustain life  amid barriers to acces to financial capital, physical capital and human capital

    The informality of the money lender business is closely related to transaction costs and risks in carrying out its business. Trust is vital and plays an important role in the sustainability of money lender businesses. Trust serves to reduce transaction costs, mortgage loan risks and the determination of collateral. This study will look at the role of trust dimensions, namely ability, benevolence, and integrity in money lender loan transactions in Semarang Regency. To achieve this goal, the research uses a qualitative approach with case studies, which aims to comprehensively understand the role of the dimensions of trust in lending transactions in money lender businesses. As a result, every dimension of trust plays a role in money lender loan transactions

    This study examines the communication strategy designed by the Konawe district government. The design of the communication strategy aims to invite all people to be actively involved in collaborating with the local government in efforts to develop the Toronipa Beach tourism area. The research method used is a qualitative descriptive research approach as a methodological basis, while the data collection techniques are observation, in-depth interviews, and literature review. The communication strategy is analyzed using the communication strategy theory which states that the communication strategy is a combination of all communication elements consisting of message sources, messages, media, recipients, and also communication effects designed to achieve optimal communication goals. Based on the results of the research, it is known that the communication strategy carried out by the government involves the Chairperson of the LPM and Pokdarwis, the content of the communication message is an invitation to participate and information related to tourism development, deliberation forums as a medium of communication, different aspects review in communicant analysis, and organizational and participatory communication as the communication patterns. With this communication strategy, the government hopes that community participation will continue to increase and contribute to the development and management of Toronipa beach

    Evaluation of the Implementation of Tourism Policy

    This purpose of the study is to  evaluate the  implementation of tourism programs in Bobale Island, Kakara Island, Tagalaya Island and Meti Island in North Halmahera District. The study is based on a model developed by George Edward III, and used qualitative methods to collect and analyze data.  Data collection techniques used included in-depth interviews, observation and study of the documents. Results of the study showed that resources, communication, disposition and bureaucratic structure are the main factors that influence the implementation of tourism policies are. Nonetheless, this study also showed that public support through public participation in the implementation process is also an important factor that determines the success of tourism policy. To that end,   community support or community participation should be an important factor that must be taken into account in the formulation of development priorities of Tourism development Master plan for North Halmahera District government

    SOCIAL CAPITAL AND LIVELIHOOD DIVERSIFICATION: TOURISM ENTREPRENEURSHIP IN A REMOTE AREA OF NORTH HALMAHERA, INDONESIA

    This article aims to describe the capability of public access to social capital as a form of livelihood diversification through tourism entrepreneurship. This idea was originated from the optimization of the tourism sector and the creative economy by the local government since 2017, aiming to encourage creative entrepreneurship in tourism, creative multimedia, and coffee shop businesses. This study was conducted in a qualitative approach; thus, primary and secondary data sources were used to analyze the data. The primary data was obtained through in-depth interviews and observations, while the secondary data was obtained from document studies. In this case, the in-depth interviews were conducted with the entrepreneurs. The participants involved as key informants had various backgrounds in tourism entrepreneurship such as travel agent and tour guide service, creative multimedia service, and coffee shop business. Furthermore, field observations were done based on activities or events, aiming to observe the process of involvement of these entrepreneurs in regional tourism activities during the events of “Torang Angkat Sampah” in 2017, “Tanjung Bongo Festival” in 2017, “North Galela Festival” in 2018, “Wonderful North Halmahera” in 2018, and “O Molulu Ma Akere” in 2019. The secondary data used was the Medium Term Program Plan of the Local Government Agencies of the Regional Tourism Department of North Halmahera Regency after there was a policy of creative economy development elaborated in the bureaucratic structure changes at the Regional Tourism Department. The results show that the availability of infrastructure, accessibility of information and transportation, and the capability of access to social capital were such a stimulus for the diversification of people’s livelihoods to run tourism, creative multimedia, and coffee shop businesses. Through social capital, entrepreneurs were strengthened by their social relations with various communities to have more consumers while also maintaining the business sustainability
