Artificial Intelligence in Writing Skills Development: A Systematic Review of Recent Research and Current Effects
The rapid adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) tools such as ChatGPT, Grammarly, and QuillBot has transformed writing instruction. It remains that their long-term educational effects still unclear. This study conducts a systematic qualitative review of 23 peer-reviewed articles published between 2024 and 2025. This study synthesizes current research on AI’s role in writing skill development. The analysis identifies four major trends: (1) AI tools consistently improve surface-level writing quality; (2) learners with higher AI literacy use these tools more efficient; (3) ethical challenges, such as plagiarism and fairness, necessitate clear institutional policies; and (4) contextual factors, including educational level and teacher mediation, strongly influence AI’s effectiveness. Overall, the findings in this study reveal that AI enhances linguistic accuracy and learner confidence. However, it also reveals that it contributes little to higher-order writing abilities like coherence and critical thinking. These results suggest that hybrid feedback models where teacher and AI work together offer the most pedagogically sound approach. The review concludes that responsible AI integration can transform writing pedagogy while safeguarding creativity and academic integrity
Students’ Metacognitive Strategies in Writing Argumentative Essay
Metacognitive strategies have demonstrated positive correlations with writing performance in educational contexts, particularly through planning, monitoring, and evaluating processes. However, existing research predominantly examines final writing products rather than students\u27 actual strategy implementation patterns and perceptions during argumentative essay composition. This study investigated which metacognitive strategy aspects students most frequently employed and how they perceived these strategies in completing writing projects. Employing descriptive qualitative methodology, data were collected through questionnaires from 20 university students enrolled in a genre-based writing course, supplemented by interviews exploring their perceptions analyzed with thematic analysis. Findings revealed self-evaluation as the most consistently implemented aspect (95% for linguistic checking), while self-monitoring demonstrated the lowest and most variable utilization (45% for structural attention). Planning received moderate engagement, with reading before writing practiced by 85% of students, but visual planning by only 25%. Perceptual analysis uncovered a paradox: students recognized consultation and revision as essential yet perceived planning as temporally inefficient. This study concludes that metacognitive awareness does not automatically translate to strategic implementation, revealing a critical gap between declarative knowledge and procedural execution. These findings necessitate pedagogical shifts toward explicit self-monitoring training and demonstrate that metacognitive competence constitutes a fragmented, context-dependent construct requiring integrated instructional approaches beyond isolated strategy awareness

Oral literature constitutes one of the cultural heritages that represents local wisdom and the identity of a community. Sakeco emerges as a form of traditional oral literature that functions not only as entertainment but also as a medium of communication, a means of moral education, and an artistic expression of Sumbawa society. This study aims to analyze the potential of Sakeco as a representation of local genius and to examine appropriate conservation strategies for maintaining its continuity amid the currents of modernization. The research method employed is descriptive qualitative with an ethnographic approach through literature review, observation, and interviews with cultural practitioners. The findings indicate that Sakeco embodies local wisdom values such as social solidarity, respect for nature, religiosity, social criticism, and community ethics that remain relevant to modern life. However, its existence currently faces challenges including declining interest among younger generations, lack of documentation, and minimal support from cultural policies. Therefore, conservation efforts for Sakeco need to be realized through the revitalization of performances in public spaces, integration of local wisdom-based education in schools, regeneration training for young artists, and utilization of digital media as a means of documentation and promotion. Thus, Sakeco can be preserved not merely as a cultural artifact but can also thrive as a dynamic identity of Sumbawa society that is rich in local genius

Pemberdayaan Peternak Melalui Sosialisasi dan Praktik Pembuatan Mineral Block di Desa Karangkajen, Kecamatan Secang, Kabupaten Magelang
The Community Service Program (KKN) conducted in Karangkajen Village, specifically in Diwak and Karangtalun hamlets, aimed to disseminate and demonstrate the making of mineral blocks as feed supplements for goats. The outreach activities included educational presentations and hands-on practice held at the Village Hall, attended by 60 local farmers. The implementation method comprised exploration, preparation, execution, and documentation-evaluation phases. The mineral blocks were formulated using locally available materials such as coarse salt, premix, molasses, rice bran, and white cement. Results showed that goats eagerly licked and consumed the mineral blocks and appeared healthier and more active. High interest among farmers to adopt and independently produce the mineral blocks underscores the potential of this innovation to improve the productivity and health of ruminant livestock, especially in areas with limited forage availability
Pendataan Rumah Tidak Layak Huni (RTLH) Berbasis Survei Di Dusun Diwak Dan Karangtalun, Desa Karangkajen, Kabupaten Magelang
The Thematic Community Service Program (KKN) conducted by Universitas Tidar students in Karangkajen Village, Magelang Regency, aimed to assist local governments in verifying and updating data related to uninhabitable houses (UH). The activity was carried out through a paper-based survey approach, where the team conducted direct field visits to households listed in the SIMPERUM (Housing Information System). During the visits, the students filled out UH assessment forms, conducted interviews with residents, observed the physical condition of the houses, and documented structural inadequacies through photos. This method allowed for more accurate and accountable data collection compared to relying solely on secondary information. The collected data was then uploaded to SIMPERUM and served as a reference for future housing improvement programs. This activity not only strengthened collaboration between universities and local governments but also empowered students to engage in community-based development practices
