Model Dependency of the Digital Option Replication – Replication under an Incomplete Model (in English)

The paper focuses on the replication of digital options under an incomplete model. Digital options are regularly applied in the hedging and static decomposition of many path-dependent options. The author examines the performance of static and dynamic replication. He considers the case of a market agent for whom the right model of the underlying asset-price evolution is not available. The observed price dynamic is supposed to follow four distinct models: (i) the Black and Scholes model, (ii) the Black and Scholes model with stochastic volatility driven by Hull and White model, (iii) the variance gamma model, defined as time changed Brownian motion, and (iv) the variance gamma model set in a stochastic environment modelled as the rate of time change via a Cox-Ingersoll-Ross model. Both static and dynamic replication methods are applied and examined within each of these settings. The Concept of In-line Injection Pump for 120 MPa Pressures

Tato diplomová práce obsahuje celkové zhodnocení koncepce řadového vstřikovacího čerpadla pro tlak 120 MPa. Toto čerpadlo nese označení Mj a jedná se o produkt společnosti MOTORPAL, a.s. V této diplomové práci je rovněž obsažena analýza kontaktních tlaků mezi palcem vačkového hřídele čerpadla a kladkou zvedáku vstřikovací jednotky. Zahrnuto je porovnání tří různých druhů tvaru kladky a jejich vlivu na velikost kontaktních tlaků a dále je také řešen výpočet regulační hrany pístu a vliv velikosti dodávky paliva na natočení pístu.This thesis provides an overall evaluation of the concept of inline injection pump for pressure 120 MPa. The name of this pump is "Mj" and it is a product of the Motorpal, a.s. company. This thesis also contains an analysis of the contact pressures between the cam lobe and the pumping element's roller tappet. This includes comparing three different shapes of the roller and their influence on the magnitude of contact pressures. Calculations of the plunger helix and of the fuel delivery's impact on the relative position of plunger are also present.

Heating in lossy waveguide

Tato práce se zabývá modelováním vlnovodu s obdélníkovým příčným průřezem v programu Comsol Multiphysics a jeho optimalizací pomocí PSO algoritmu v programu MATLAB. Praktická část popisuje vybuzení elektrické vlny na různých kmitočtech a vlivy změn základních vlastností, rozměrů a polohy vložené dielektrické destičky na procházející elektrickou vlnu v pásmu jednovidovosti. V další fázi práce jsou aplikovány změny těchto základních vlastností na ohřívání struktury při vybuzení elektrického pole u vstupu tohoto vlnovodu. Poslední část se zabývá optimalizací vlnovodového filtru pomocí metody včelího roje a jeho následným zkoumáním elektrických a tepelných vlastností. Vše je ilustrováno na vložených obrázcích, které zachycují vlnovod z podélného vrchního pohledu, a pravoúhlých grafech.This thesis deals with modeling of a waveguide with the rectangular cross-section in Comsol Multiphysics and optimization with PSO algorithm in MATLAB. The practical section describes electromagnetic wave excitation at different frequencies; and the influence of changes of basic characteristics, proportions and the location of an inserted dielectric slide on passing electromagnetic wave in a single-mode band. In next phase of the project, changes of basic characteristics on heating structure at electromagnetic field excitation by this waveguides are discussed. The last part deals with optimizing waveguide filter with particle swarm optimization and research his new electric and thermal character. Modeled phenomena are illustrated by pictures of a waveguide from the axial upper projection, and on rectangular charts.

Study of the properties of the advanced cathode materials for lithium-ion cells

Tato práce se zabývá studiem akumulátorů, zejména lithium-iontových, principy jejich funkce a zejména studiem katodových materiálů pro lithium-iontové akumulátory. Tyto materiály by měly umožnit vývoj akumulátorů se značně vyšším jmenovitým napětím. Cílem práce je seznámení se s problematikou a shrnutí dosavadního vývoje na poli vysokonapěťových lithiových akumulátorů.This bachelor thesis deals with accumulators, studies their function and focuses on cathode materials for lithium-ion accumulators in particular. These materials should enable the development of accumulators with significantly higher nominal voltage. The aim of this thesis is to address problems connected with these accumulators and to summarize the development of high-voltage lithium-ion accumulators.

Posouzení metody částečného hedgingu na případu řízení měnového rizika nefinanční instituce

Financial risk management is an inherent part of each business activity. The analysis of available hedging strategies, theirs interconnection with efficient market and firm value theories, as well as various empirical studies are regular theme of scientific papers. In this study we focus on an alternative approach to hedging of financial risk of non-financial institutions – the partial hedging approach with shortfall acceptation. This approach initiates from Föllmer and Leukert (1999) method of quantile hedging. It is also related to cashflow at risk approach of Stein et al. (2001). The approach to hedging presented in this paper is based on a combined option position, so that a substantial decrease in initial capital needs can be achieved by accepting of some probability of shortfall. The strategy is studied under various circumstances given e.g. by risk neutral and real market probabilities. Simultaneously, it is compared to more standard strategies of hedging. Finally, we present two interesting findings: (i) real world probability of shortfall significantly differs from the risk neutral one, (ii) at first sight insignificant error in simulation results can have important influence on the interpretation of partial hedging strategies

Using Information Panels on the Street Lighting Pole

Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou sdělování informací obyvatelstvu. Nejprve je popsán současný stav této problematiky. V další části práce je proveden průzkum, který se snaží dokázat, jestli by bylo možné stávající stav vylepšit a tím zvýšit efektivitu sdělování. Toto vylepšení spočívá ve využití informačních technologií. V poslední části je pak naznačeno, jak by se takovýto systém dal zrealizovat v praxi.The master's thesis is focused on forwarding information to the general public. In the first part of the thesis there is described the present status of this topic. Further there is accomplished a survey. This survey tries to demonstrate that it is possible to increase an effect of forwarding information thanks to information technologies. In the last part there is described how it can be implemented in a real world.
