De la "tierra adentro" a la Villa de la Concepción del Río Cuarto : itinerarios de las comitivas ranqueles en la década de 1840

En la etapa de la Confederación rosista, la Frontera Sur de Córdoba configuró un frente de guerra con los ranqueles, siendo los principales motivos de lucha el territorio y el ganado. No obstante, hubo varios intentos por concertar las paces. Cuando ello ocurría, numerosas comisiones o flotas ranquelinas arribaban a la Villa de la Concepción del Río Cuarto a buscar las raciones estipuladas, intercambiar productos, curar sus enfermedades, etc. La circulación sólo se interrumpía cuando se reanudaban los enfrentamientos (malones, expediciones armadas). El trabajo tiene por propósito reconstruir los itinerarios seguidos por estas comitivas que, en algunos casos, estaban integradas por indígenas provenientes de la vertiente occidental de la cordillera. El movimiento de estas flotas y los bienes que intercambiaban o recibían como agasajos permite aproximarnos a las características de las relaciones interétnicas entre los ranqueles y el Gobierno de Córdoba en un momento de fuerte tensión política en la Confederación rosista.At the stage of the Confederation Rosas, the southern border of Cordoba set up a war front with ranqueles, the main reasons for fighting the territory and livestock. However, there were several attempts to arrange peace. When this happened, numerous commissions or Ranqueline fleets they arrived at the Villa de la Concepción del Río Cuarto find the stipulated rations, exchange goods, cure their illnesses, etc. The flow was interrupted only when the fighting (raids, armed expeditions) is resumed. The paper is intended to reconstruct the routes followed by these delegations that, in some cases, were composed of Indians from the western slopes of the Andes. EKF based State Estimation in a CFI Copolymerization Reactor including Polymer Quality Information

State estimation is an integral part of modern control techniques, as it allows to characterize the state information of complex plants based on a limited number of measurements and the knowledge of the process model. The benefit is twofold: on one hand it has the potential to rationalize the number of measurements required to monitor the plant, thus reducing costs, on the other hand it enables to extract information about variables that have an effect on the system but would otherwise be inaccessible to direct measurement. The scope of this thesis is to design a state estimator for a tubular copolymerization reactor, with the aim to provide the full state information of the plant and to characterize the quality of the product. Due to the fact that, with the existing set of measurements, only a small number of state variables can be observed, a new differential pressure sensor is installed in the plant to provide the missing information, and a model for the pressure measurement is developed. Following, the state estimation problem is approached rigorously and a comprehensive method for analyzing, tuning and implementing the state estimator is assembled from scientific literature, using a variety of tools from graph theory, linear observability theory and matrix algebra. Data reduction and visualization techniques are also employed to make sense of high dimensional information. The proposed method is then tested in simulations to assess the effect of the tuning parameters and measured set on the estimator performance during initialization and in case of estimation with plant-model mismatch. Apuntes para el estudio de políticas culturales en la provincia de Córdoba: La creación del Museo Superior de Bellas Artes “Evita- Palacio Ferreyra”

En los últimos diez años, la ciudad de Córdoba atravesó múltiples transformaciones, entre ellas, en su aspecto y características urbanísticas y arquitectónicas. El estado provincial ha sido, directa o indirectamente, uno de los principales promotores de estas transformaciones que incidieron directamente sobre el paisaje urbano. Entre ellas, las que más llamaron nuestra atención por su gran envergadura y su alto grado de visibilidad–junto con el boom constructivo y las demoliciones del barrio de Nueva Córdoba y zonas aledañasfueron aquellas vinculadas a un mega proyecto cultural estatal denominado “Media Legua de Oro Cultural”. La observación cotidiana de estas transformaciones, en tanto habitante de la ciudad, motivó nuestro interés por tentar comprender estas políticas culturales estatales, sus condiciones de emergencia, modos de implementación, las definiciones estatales a partir de las cuales se elaboraron y principalmente, las disputas que se produjeron en tono a esas políticas y definiciones. Para ello, describiremos minuciosamente las condiciones de emergencia de determinadas acciones estatales relacionadas con estas políticas, como lo constituye el caso de la creación e inauguración del Museo Superior de Bellas Artes Evita “Palacio Ferreyra”, un proceso que – en parte- involucró modos de legislación en relación al patrimonio cultural tangible de la provincia. Estos intereses analíticos se enmarcan en un conjunto de preocupaciones más generales, cifradas en la posibilidad de efectuar un primer acercamiento al estudio de los ejercicios cotidianos de poder estatal y su proceso continuo de formación, mediante un acercamiento etnográfico sobre un conjunto particular de políticas gubernamentales producidas desde el “área de cultura” del gobierno provincial.Fil: Tamagnini, María Lucía. Jóvenes en riesgo: un análisis de las facetas tutelares en la gestión municipal de la diversión nocturna. Córdoba, Argentina

En el presente artículo propongo una reflexión respecto de procesos de construcción de “juventudes” a partir del estudio etnográfico de la acción de la administración estatal sobre la noche y la diversión nocturna, en el contexto contemporáneo de la ciudad Córdoba. El texto se organiza en torno a dos grandes ejes: por un lado, una exploración en torno a los modos de construcción discursiva de ese espacio tiempo nocturno como objeto de políticas gubernamentales, en la ciudad de Córdoba, en los últimos 4 años. Por el otro, una indagación sobre los modos de producción de poblaciones (“jóvenes”) que se realizan performativamente en actuaciones administrativas específicas. Las “clausuras preventivas” de diferentes locales destinados a la diversión nocturna constituyen el principal universo empírico de referencia. A partir de un abordaje etnográfico de dichas actuaciones intentaré reflexionar sobre las varias facetas tutelares que estarían implicadas la gestión contemporánea del entretenimiento nocturno, en tanto en su realización cotidiana se activarían un conjunto de repertorios morales ligados al cuidado, la protección y la seguridad de “los jóvenes”.In this article I present a reflection upon the construction processes of the "youth", from the point of view of the ethnographic studies of state administration actions on the nightlife, in the context of the contemporary city of Córdoba, Argentina. The text is organized around two main ideas: on one hand, an exploration of the discursive constructions of the nightlife space-time as an object of government policies in the city of Córdoba during the last four years. On the other hand, an inquiry into the ways of population production ("the youth") that are being carried out performatively in specific administrative proceedings. The main empirical reference universe is the "preventive closure" of different nightlife premises. From an ethnographic approach to such actions, I will try to reflect upon the nuances of those domination practices in the current management of nighttime entertainment, while in everyday life they would activate a set of moral codes related to the care, protection and security of "youth".Fil: Tamagnini, María Lucía. Macroelement modeling of SSI effects on offshore wind turbines subject to large number of loading cycles

In this paper, the hypoplastic macroelement formulation proposed by [1] has been modified in order to extend its range of applicability to offshore structures subject to cyclic loads with very high number of cycles, with particular attention to fatigue phenomena and cyclic displacement accumulation. A series of FE analysis has been performed to model the soil–foundation interaction processes of a prototype of offshore wind turbine, for which the geometrical characteristic of the superstructure and foundation, the soil conditions and the predicted environmental (wave and wind) loads were known. The study, carried out in parametric form, has allowed to better understand the role played by the modified cyclic part of the macroelement model in reproducing the shake–down effects as observed in small–scale model tests.Peer ReviewedPostprint (published version

Modeling deformation bands in thermal softening and fluid infiltrating porous solids at finite strain

Onset and modes of deformation bands are often influenced by nonmechanical loading triggered by seepage of pore fluid and thermal effects. Experimental evidence has established that temperature changes can alter the shape and size of the yield surface and cause shear band to form in geomaterials that are otherwise stable. Understanding this thermo-hydro-mechanical responses are important for many engineering applications, such as carbon dioxide storage and extraction of hydrocarbon in which hot or cool fluid are often injected into deep porous rock formations. The purpose of this research is to simulate this coupled process using a thermoporoplasticity model with extended hardening rules. A key feature of this model is that evolution of internal variables is governed by both the plastic dissipation and the change of temperature. An adaptively stabilized monolithic finite element model is proposed to simulate the fully coupled thermo-hydro-mechanical behavior of porous media undergoing large deformation. We first formulate a finite-deformation thermo-hydro-mechanics field theory for nonisothermal porous media. The corresponding (monolithic) discrete problem is then derived adopting low-order elements with equal order of interpolation for the three coupled fields. A projection based stabilization procedure is designed to eliminate spurious pore pressure and temperature modes due to the lack of the two-fold inf–sup condition of the equal-order finite elements. To avoid volumetric locking due to the incompressibility of solid skeleton, we introduce a modified assumed deformation gradient in the formulation for nonisothermal porous solids. Finally, numerical examples are given to demonstrate the versatility and efficiency of this model

Various arts: performances by Felisa Crítica in the worlds of cinema and theatre

En este escrito nos proponemos describir algunas configuraciones, funcionamientos y usos de críticas de cine, analizando las diferentes tensiones en juego. Para hacerlo, recurrimos a un caso singular: Felisa y su blog de críticas a films y piezas teatrales. Felisa, una mujer de barrio Almagro en Buenos Aires, se enfrenta a la cámara en su casa, comenta películas y obras de teatro, y las sube a su blog. Este caso nos permite trabajar el cruce entre diferentes artes: la crítica, el cine, el teatro y, por qué no, la ciencia, poniendo en cuestión las imbricaciones entre realidades virtuales y presenciales, domesticidades e intelectualidades, obras y comentarios, fantasías y verdades, en su inescindibles configuraciones.In this paper we intend to describe certain configurations, performances and uses of film reviews, analyzing the different tensions at stake. In order to do so, we focus on a singular case: Felisa and her blog of films´ and plays´ reviews. Felisa, a woman from Almagro neighborhood in Buenos Aires, faces the camera at home, comments movies and plays, and uploads these to her blog. This case allows us to work the intersection between different arts: criticism, film, theater and, why not, science, calling into question the overlapping between the virtual and the real, intellectuality and domesticity, works and comments, fantasies and truths, in its inseparable configurations.Fil: Garrido, Jimena Ines.
