Ultrasonic Imaging of Static Objects Through a Scattering Layer Using the Harmonic Phase Conjugation Approach

    Get PDF
The main goal of this study is to develop a new image reconstruction approach for the ultrasonic detection of foreign objects inside the human brain through a simplified skull model. The proposed solution is based on the Harmonic Phase Conjugation technique. A source of ultrasound (transducer), small reflecting and scattering objects, a simplified skull layer, and a linear array of ultrasonic receivers are the main components of the test setup. The algorithm starts with the forward propagation step, when the phase and amplitude distributions of the ultrasonic field from the source transducer are recorded with an array of receivers. These distributions are also calculated in presence of a skull layer and small reflecting objects. The recorded phase and amplitude information is then used in the back propagation step, when the phase-conjugated scattered field is numerically propagated through the same medium in the reverse direction. As this field naturally focuses at the locations of the reflecting objects, their image can be reconstructed. After testing the algorithm using a numerical model, a set of laboratory experiments was conducted to verify the accuracy of the developed simulation. The results of these tests are presented, and the main advantages and drawbacks of the approach are discussed

Jember Creative Industry Distribution Model Towards the International Market

    Get PDF
The creative industry is one of the industries that currently supports the Indonesian economy. The purpose of this study is to formulate the distribution model of Jember's creative industry towards the international market, especially in the performance art sector. This study is quantitative-eksploratif research conducted in Jember using SMEs as a population. The analytical tool used in this study was FGD and a fishbone diagram. The results of the fishbone diagram analysis showed several causes of SME growth problems such as the lack of HR skills in foreign languages, the inadequate sophisticated technology in business, and the minimal amount of business capital. The inappropriate adoption of the technology was then identified as the root cause of the problem. Thus, the distribution model for the creative industry to increase competitiveness in the international market is the technology application in every element of the SMEs

The creative industry is one of the industries that currently supports the Indonesian economy. The purpose of this study is to formulate the distribution model of Jember's creative industry towards the international market. This study is quantitative-descriptive research conducted in Jember using SMEs as population. Furthermore, samples were taken by using a non-probability sampling technique with a convenience sampling method. The analytical tool used in this study was a fishbone diagram. The results of the fishbone diagram analysis showed several causes of SMEs growth problems such as the lack of HR skills in foreign languages, the inadequate of sophisticated technology in business, and the minimal amount of business capital. The inappropriate adoption of the technology was then identified as the root cause of the problem. Thus, the distribution model for the creative industry to increase competitiveness in the international market is the technology application in every element of the SMEs. The Impact of Policy Changes: The Opportunities of Community Renewable Energy Projects in the UK and the Barriers they Face

    Get PDF
The UK’s energy system is predominantly centralised with a major reliance on fossil fuels. The trilemma of successfully delivering energy security, equity, and environmental sustainability, whilst dealing with an ageing energy infrastructure, demands change within the entire energy system. In recent years, Community Renewable Energy (CRE) projects have played a significant role in the transition of the UK’s energy system, but since 2016 government support for them has been less robust. This paper reports a web-based survey and semi-structured interviews of the UK’s community energy groups undertaken between August 2016 and March 2017. The results indicate that huge problems have arisen due to the changes in government policy, particularly for solar photovoltaic schemes. The majority of CRE organisations have chosen to focus on managing their existing assets rather than plan further growth. Additionally, this paper highlights the key challenges facing CRE projects that wish to develop innovative business models under the new policy conditions. Human Resource Management (HRM) is one of the most strategic parts in  organization. HRM is the art and science of managing the relationship and role of the workforce effectively and efficiently to achieve organizational goals. The development of human resource management changes every time. Currently the role of HRM is becoming more complex and full of challenges. Therefore, the preparation of a strategy in human resource management must be in line with the organization's business strategy. The management of the organization has now realized that employees are a strategic asset and must be developed in order to provide opportunities that the organization can take advantage of. Employee potential development programs that are currently being carried out are by increasing employee competencies. This also applies to educational institutions like University. This study uses a literature study that analyzes the role of Human Resource Business Partner in achieving higher education success. Competency improvement and development programs for lecturers and students have often been held with various activities such as seminars, training, competency tests, etc. It is intended that universities can produce professionals in their respective scientific fields. The employee management model that is considered capable of assisting higher education institutions in improving the competence of academics is to use the Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP). HRBP positions HR practitioners to be partners for organizational managers and as consultants in selecting employee competency development programs. In implementing HR management activities in University HRBP is the right model, especially for lecturers and students who want to improve their competence and develop their knowledge. This HRBP management model is also very helpful in the implementation of the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program by Higher Education, where the goal of MBKM is in line with HRBP, namely to increase the competence of academics and be able to produce academics who are professional in their fields

The Comparative Study of the Linguistic Representation of Shafiei Kadkani and Abd al-Wahhab al-Bayati to Hallaj's Tragedy from the Perspective of Ideational Metafunction

    Get PDF
Halliday's systemic functional theory is a social look at a language which is interwoven with three metafunctional processes. Studying literary texts from linguistic aspects, such as ideational function is one of the new research approaches which improve a better and deeper understanding of hidden layers of texts. One of the modern Arabic and Persian literary discussions is the use of myths in modern poetry. Contemporary Arabic and Persian poets have described Hallaj's story in the form of myth. Abd al-Wahhab al-Bayati, a contemporary Arabic poet, and Shafiei Kadkani, a contemporary Persian poet, are among the poets who deal with the story of Hallaj in some of their poems. The method is correlative-analytical and this study tries to analyze the variety of different ideational metafunction processes of Hallaj's story in the poetry of these two poets. The results show that each of these two poets used various material processes to express their opinions. Peripheral elements such as time and space exist in the poems of both poets
