Reset Complexity of Ideal Languages over a Binary Alphabet

We prove PSPACE-completeness of checking whether a given ideal language serves as the language of reset words for some automaton with at most four states over a binary alphabet. Moral and Ecological Function of Students' Upbringing

The paper considers some social problems and consequences of the consumer attitude of man and modern society to nature. The necessity of changing the stereotypes of man and nature interaction and forming man's reasonable needs is stressed. It is argued that human mentality and value reference points need changing by means of upbringing. The authors develop questions related to the upgrade of higher school in Russia and to the use of functionalist ideas in the upbringing process of higher education institutions. The pedagogical model of implementing the moral and ecological function of students' upbringing at a higher education institution is developed and represented. It includes interrelated structural components: motivational and goal-related, axiological, content-related, technological and final one. The paper reveals the essence of such notions as "new social and ecological ideal", "moral and ecological function of upbringing", "ecological and humanist values". An analysis of upbringing process at a higher education institution is presented from the standpoint of competency-based approach. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd. This paper describes the analysis and modelling of word usage frequency time series. During one of previous studies, an assumption was put forward that all word usage frequencies have uniform dynamics approaching the shape of a Gaussian function. This assumption can be checked using the frequency dictionaries of the Google Books Ngram database. This database includes 5.2 million books published between 1500 and 2008. The corpus contains over 500 billion words in American English, British English, French, German, Spanish, Russian, Hebrew, and Chinese. We clustered time series of word usage frequencies using a Kohonen neural network. The similarity between input vectors was estimated using several algorithms. As a result of the neural network training procedure, more than ten different forms of time series were found. They describe the dynamics of word usage frequencies from birth to death of individual words. Different groups of word forms were found to have different dynamics of word usage frequency variations

THE EFFECT OF SEDIMENT GRAIN SIZE ON HEAVY METAL CONTENT

In the natural surroundings tectonical, climatological, dynamic and physico-chemical conditions of sedimentation are the crucial factors in the process of sediment composition formation. Grain size is one of the most investigated reasons of space and temporary variability in heavy metal concentration. In general, the data on grain size measurement afford to appreciate sorption capacity of sediments and arrange them. The dependence heavy metal content on grain size of sediments has been examined in the enormous amount of research works. The main conclusion is that if grain size decreases, metal content increases.We have carried out sediment grain size measurement of two lakes (Chebachje Lake, Piketnoye Lake) located in the South of Western Siberia, Russia. To define grain size of these sediments the sorting of samples collected layer-by-layer has been conducted by nest of sieves (from 43 to 1000 µm). Accomplished examinations allow to state that layer-by-layer grain size measurement of sediments has significant importance in reconstruction of paleoecologic peculiarities and also influences organic and inorganic matter concentrating in the sediments in dynamic

The "Service" model of the competences of the municipal employee as the basis of vocational training: Russian experience

Competences of the municipal employee are considered in a context of the “service” concept of the public and municipal administration. The results of the sociological researches reflecting estimates and expectations are the basis for a model of the competences, connected with local authorities. In the article the technology and the results of the selection of the applicants for a reserve for the municipal positions are presented on the basis of the offered model of the competences also. From the point of view of the purposes of the vocational training the offered model of the competences can act as a basis for a formation of the curriculum

STRENGTHENING THE PRACTICAL COMPONENT IN THE ENVIRONMENTAL TRAINING OF FUTURE ENGINEERS

Do objetivo do estudo é investigar a formação de habilidades de fortalecimento do componente prático de treinamento ambiental de estudantes, com especialização técnica. Isso é alcançado com a introdução de formas e métodos de treinamento, como a pesquisa de projetos técnicos e artigos científicos na área sujeita (usando o método de análise diversionária), a participação dos estudantes no trabalho dos departamentos científicos das empresas, na prática de produção ecológica e no design interdisciplinar. Os resultados do experimento mostram uma dinâmica positiva nas mudanças dos níveis de formação das principais características da cultura ecológica dos alunos e confirmam a eficácia da introdução do considerado.Del objetivo del estudio es investigar la formación de tales habilidades de fortalecimiento del componente práctico de la formación ambiental de los estudiantes, que tienen especialización técnica. Se logra mediante la introducción de tales formas y métodos de capacitación, como la investigación de proyectos técnicos y artículos científicos en el área sujeta (utilizando el método de análisis de distracción), la participación de los estudiantes en el trabajo de los departamentos científicos de las empresas, en la práctica de producción ecológica y en el diseño interdisciplinario. Los resultados del experimento muestran una dinámica positiva en los cambios de los niveles de formación de las principales características de la cultura ecológica de los estudiantes, y confirman la efectividad de la introducción de lo considerado.Of the goal of study is to investigate the formation of such skills of strengthening of practical component of environmental training of students, having technical specialization. It is achieved by the introduction of such forms and methods of training,as the research of technical projects and scientific articles in the subjected area (using the method of diversionary analysis), the participation of students in the work of scientific departments at the enterprises, in eco-oriented production practice and in the interdisciplinary designing.
