The Relationship between Exchange Rates and Stock Markets for the Fragile Five Countries
This paper aims to determine the significance relation and direction of stock markets and exchange rate on Fragile five Countries (South Africa, Turkey, Indonesia, India, and Brazil) between January 2010 to December 2019. This study applied the VAR Analysis and Granger Causality Test to determine the relationship among exchange rates and stock indexes. The results show that South Africa and Turkey exchange rates and stock indexes are in bidirectional relationships, for India and Brazil, there is a one-way causality finding from exchange rate to stock price, and the results for Indonesia show no causality

Supervising the Multi-Fidelity Race of Hyperparameter Configurations
Multi-fidelity (gray-box) hyperparameter optimization techniques (HPO) have
recently emerged as a promising direction for tuning Deep Learning methods.
However, existing methods suffer from a sub-optimal allocation of the HPO
budget to the hyperparameter configurations. In this work, we introduce DyHPO,
a Bayesian Optimization method that learns to decide which hyperparameter
configuration to train further in a dynamic race among all feasible
configurations. We propose a new deep kernel for Gaussian Processes that embeds
the learning curve dynamics, and an acquisition function that incorporates
multi-budget information. We demonstrate the significant superiority of DyHPO
against state-of-the-art hyperparameter optimization methods through
large-scale experiments comprising 50 datasets (Tabular, Image, NLP) and
diverse architectures (MLP, CNN/NAS, RNN).Comment: Accepted at NeurIPS 202
Scaling Laws for Hyperparameter Optimization
Hyperparameter optimization is an important subfield of machine learning that
focuses on tuning the hyperparameters of a chosen algorithm to achieve peak
performance. Recently, there has been a stream of methods that tackle the issue
of hyperparameter optimization, however, most of the methods do not exploit the
dominant power law nature of learning curves for Bayesian optimization. In this
work, we propose Deep Power Laws (DPL), an ensemble of neural network models
conditioned to yield predictions that follow a power-law scaling pattern. Our
method dynamically decides which configurations to pause and train
incrementally by making use of gray-box evaluations. We compare our method
against 7 state-of-the-art competitors on 3 benchmarks related to tabular,
image, and NLP datasets covering 59 diverse tasks. Our method achieves the best
results across all benchmarks by obtaining the best any-time results compared
to all competitors.Comment: Accepted at NeurIPS 202

PERLINDUNGAN HUKUM TERHADAP ISTRI DALAM PEMBAGIAN WARIS PADA PERKAWINAN POLIGAMI (Studi Perkara Nomor 286/PDT.G/2012/PA.PDG dan Nomor 12/PDT.G/2013/PTA.PDG

The problem of the Complaisance by Abid Al Gibar AlHamathani
The complaisance's subject is one of the most important subjects which has been discussed by the speech philosophers in their researches and studies, but it was an interesting subject by Abid Al Gibar who is called The Judge of Judges, he allocated a full part in his book (The Singer in chapters of Monotheism and Justice). Talking about this, the Complaisance was not a matter of disagreement between the scholars, but the dispute was about the necessaty or unnecessaty of the Complaisance. At this exact point the Nonconformests specialized in, and one of their follower is the Judge who proved the necessaty of the Divine Complaisance depending on mental and copying evidences. In this research we will discuss the particularistic of the Judge's attitude toward the Complaisance problem. In the introduction we will talk about the difining of the Judge Abid Al Gibar. The research elements include the definition of the Complaisance and its truth, aspects and kinds. The necessaty of the divine complaisance and the reply to the rivals by The Judge and then explaining the meanings which are used in discribing the Complaisance and who deserves this complaisance. The result that we reached through our studies of the Judge Abid Al Gibar's writings is that he proved by his mental and copying evidences the necessaty of the divine complaisance, and he represented an origenal view in that he disproved the rivals' opinions who rejected the necessaty of the divine complaisance
Quick-Tune: Quickly Learning Which Pretrained Model to Finetune and How
With the ever-increasing number of pretrained models, machine learning
practitioners are continuously faced with which pretrained model to use, and
how to finetune it for a new dataset. In this paper, we propose a methodology
that jointly searches for the optimal pretrained model and the hyperparameters
for finetuning it. Our method transfers knowledge about the performance of many
pretrained models with multiple hyperparameter configurations on a series of
datasets. To this aim, we evaluated over 20k hyperparameter configurations for
finetuning 24 pretrained image classification models on 87 datasets to generate
a large-scale meta-dataset. We meta-learn a multi-fidelity performance
predictor on the learning curves of this meta-dataset and use it for fast
hyperparameter optimization on new datasets. We empirically demonstrate that
our resulting approach can quickly select an accurate pretrained model for a
new dataset together with its optimal hyperparameters
Nutritional status and intestinal parasites among young children from pastoralist communities of the Ethiopian Somali region
Pastoralist children in the Ethiopian Somali Regional State (ESRS) are at high risk for undernutrition and intestinal parasitic infections (IPIs). We assessed the nutritional status and its association with IPIs in 500 children <5 years of age in a clustered cross-sectional study in Adadle district, ESRS. Stool samples were microscopically examined for IPIs and biomarkers for iron and vitamin A status, anthropometry, and food variety score (FVS) were assessed. Median (interquartile range [IQR]) FVS was 2.0 (2.0, 4.0), and 35% of children were exclusively breastfed up to age 6 months. Prevalence of stunting, wasting, underweight and mid-upper arm circumference (MUAC) <12.5 cm was 30, 34, 40, and 16%, respectively. Median (IQR) haemoglobin, ferritin, and retinol-binding protein concentrations were 9.5 g dL; -1; (8.2, 10.9), 6.2 μg L; -1; (4.0, 10.2), and 0.8 μmol L; -1; (0.67, 0.91), respectively. Prevalence of anaemia, iron, and vitamin A deficiency was 75, 91, and 30%, respectively. IPIs' prevalence was 47%; the most prevalent IPIs were Giardia lamblia (22%) and Ascaris lumbricoides (15%). Giardial infections but not A. lumbricoides increased the risk for MUAC 2 or with exclusive breastfeeding up to 6 months, respectively. Undernutrition and IPIs are alarmingly high in <5 years of age children in ESRS. Giardial infections and low nutritional adequacy of the diet seem to be major contributing factors to the precarious nutritional status and should be addressed by appropriate interventions
