Missing and spurious interactions and the reconstruction of complex networks

Network analysis is currently used in a myriad of contexts: from identifying potential drug targets to predicting the spread of epidemics and designing vaccination strategies, and from finding friends to uncovering criminal activity. Despite the promise of the network approach, the reliability of network data is a source of great concern in all fields where complex networks are studied. Here, we present a general mathematical and computational framework to deal with the problem of data reliability in complex networks. In particular, we are able to reliably identify both missing and spurious interactions in noisy network observations. Remarkably, our approach also enables us to obtain, from those noisy observations, network reconstructions that yield estimates of the true network properties that are more accurate than those provided by the observations themselves. Our approach has the potential to guide experiments, to better characterize network data sets, and to drive new discoveries

Cenozoic evolution of eastern Iberia: Structural data and dynamic model

Iberia underwent intraplate deformation during the Mesozoic and Cenozoic. In eastem Ibena, compression took place during the Palaeogene and early Miocene, giving rise to the Iberian Chain, and extension started during the early Miocene in the coastal areas and the Valencia trough; during early Miocene compression continued in the western Iberian Chain whereas extension had started in the eastern Iberian Chain. From the kinematic data obtained from the major compressional and extensional structures formed dunng the Cenozoic, a simple dynamic model using Bott's (1959) formula is presented. The results show that both extension and compression may have been produced assuming a main horizontal stress-axis approximately N-S, in a similar direction that the convergence between Europe, Ibena and Africa during the Cenozoic

Desconcentración residencial y nueva fragmentación socioespacial en la región de Barcelona : la diáspora de Santa Coloma de Gramanet

Se analiza el característico cmecimiento extensivo del espacio urbano (le Barcelona, propio de todos los países industrializados y su consiguiente desconcentracién de la población. Se destaca el estancamiento de la emigración campo-ciudad sustituido por los desplazamientos interurbanos, que están afectando negativamente a los núcleos urbanos centrales y a los municipios con mayor densidad de población. Un ejemplo típico es el del municipio barcelonés de Santa Coloma de Gramanet. The paper analizes the extensive growth of urban space in Barcelona and the subsequent population's de-concentration, a normal feature in all industrial countries. The migration from countryside ro town has been checked and sustituted for intra-urban trips, that affect negativeIy central urban centers and the municipalities with the highest population density. A clear instance is the town of Santa Coloma de Gramanet in Barcelona.On analyse la caractéristique croissance extensivede l'espace urbain de Barcelonne, propre á tous les pays industrialisés et la déconcentration, done, de la population. Com fomentar les relacions personals dels alumnes d’una aula d’un Centre rural agrupat (CRA) mitjançant una unitat didàctica basada en les Arts Plàstiques

Treball final de Grau en Mestre o Mestra d'Educació Infantil. Codi: MI1040. Curs acadèmic 2016-2017Aquest treball de final de grau pren com a punt de partida la següent hipòtesi; Com podem fomentar les relacions personals dels alumnes d'una aula CRA dintre d'aquesta? Ja que és dintre de l'aula on sorgeixen segregacions per nivells d'edat en aquests tipus d’escoles. Fruit d'aquestes segregacions alguns alumnes poden sentir inferioritat en vers els altres. Per a crear les bases de la hipòtesi plantejada es realitza un qüestionari a diversos components de la comunitat educativa, per a establir els components i la forma de treball en una aula CRA. Per aquest motiu es plantegen un seguit d'objectius que busquen apropar l'alumat dintre de l'aula i fer que naixin entre ells relacions personals basades en el respecte i l'amistat. Els objectius són: fomentar les relacions personals entre l'alumnat, introduir el treball cooperatiu dintre de l'aula i desenvolupar la creativitat i el pensament crític des de la perspectiva grupal. Per a tractar el tema s'ha elaborat una proposta d’unitat didàctica que fomenta el treball cooperatiu dintre de l'aula
