Towards A Theory-Of-Mind-Inspired Generic Decision-Making Framework
Simulation is widely used to make model-based predictions, but few approaches
have attempted this technique in dynamic physical environments of medium to
high complexity or in general contexts. After an introduction to the cognitive
science concepts from which this work is inspired and the current development
in the use of simulation as a decision-making technique, we propose a generic
framework based on theory of mind, which allows an agent to reason and perform
actions using multiple simulations of automatically created or externally
inputted models of the perceived environment. A description of a partial
implementation is given, which aims to solve a popular game within the
IJCAI2013 AIBirds contest. Results of our approach are presented, in comparison
with the competition benchmark. Finally, future developments regarding the

Ulcers in restrained rats: Study of protective substances
The genesis of ulcers in restrained rats is discussed through an investigation of the relationship between the protective effects of nervous system effectual substances examined vis-a-vis ulcers in restrained rats and their elective or secondary pharmacologic effects. The substances used were capable of either peripheral parasympatholytic, sympatholytic, ganglioplegic, spasmolytic effects or central, hypnotic, tranquilizing, neuroleptic, analgesic effects. The regular and considerable protection observed with parasympatholytics (atropine sulfate, benzylonium bromide, dihexyverine, J.L. 1344) and a ganglioplegic (pentamethonium) is a function of their anticholinergic properties. It is of less importance with dibenamine, a sympatholytic action on the adrenergic receptors. Among the central depressive substances tested (hypnotics, tranquilizers, neuroleptics, analgesic), phenobarbital at a nonhypnotic dose, and dextromoramide at a nonanalgesic dose, show antiulcerous effects, which are found with chlorpromazine only at cataleptogenic doses

Learning a Representation of a Believable Virtual Character's Environment with an Imitation Algorithm
In video games, virtual characters' decision systems often use a simplified
representation of the world. To increase both their autonomy and believability
we want those characters to be able to learn this representation from human
players. We propose to use a model called growing neural gas to learn by
imitation the topology of the environment. The implementation of the model, the
modifications and the parameters we used are detailed. Then, the quality of the
learned representations and their evolution during the learning are studied
using different measures. Improvements for the growing neural gas to give more
information to the character's model are given in the conclusion

This research paper investigates the financing gap in venture capital for female-founded ventures. Specifically, experiences of female founders in investor interactions are examined through a qualitative study by analysing their experiences with barriers to secure financing for the growth of their ventures.
