Periodic orbits 1-5 of quadratic polynomials on a new coordinate plane

While iterating the quadratic polynomial f_{c}(x)=x^{2}+c the degree of the iterates grows very rapidly, and therefore solving the equations corresponding to periodic orbits becomes very difficult even for periodic orbits with a low period. In this work we present a new iteration model by introducing a change of variables into an (u,v)-plane, which changes situation drastically. As an excellent example of this we can compare equations of orbits period four on (x,c)- and (u,v)-planes. In the latter case, this equation is of degree two with respect to u and it can be solved explicitly. In former case the corresponding equation ((((x^{2}+c)^{2}+c)^{2}+c)^{2}+c-x)/((x^{2}+c)^{2}+c-x)=0 is of degree 12 and it is thus much more difficult to solve

    Get PDF
During human evolution emotion expression became an important social tool that contributed to the complexification of societies. Human-computer interaction is commonly present in our daily life, and the industry is struggling for solutions that can analyze human emotions, in an attempt to provide better experiences. The purpose of this study was to understand if a software built using the transfer-learning technique on a deep learning model was capable of classifying human emotions, through facial expression analysis. A Convolutional Neuronal Network model was trained and used in a web application, which is available online. Several tools were created to facilitate the software development process, including the training and validation processes, and these are also available online. The data was collected after the combination of several facial expression emotion databases, such as KDEF_AKDEF, TFEID, Face_Place and jaffe. Software evaluation reveled an accuracy in identifying the correct emotions close to 80%. In addition, a comparison between the software and preliminary data from human’s performance, on recognizing facial expressed emotions, suggested that the software performed better. This work can be useful in many different domains such as marketing (to understand the effect of marketing campaigns on people’s emotional states), health (to help mental diseases diagnosis) and industry 4.0 (to create a better collaborating environment between humans and machines).Durante a evolução da espécie humana, a expressões de emoções tornou-se uma ferramenta social importante, que permitiu a criação de sociedades cada vez mais complexas.

The AquaeVitae project innovatively promotes health and prevents illness, focusing on thermal water-based dietary recommendations. It features an intelligent system, split into a web platform for nutritionists and administrators, and a mobile app for patients, enhancing nutritional planning and client interaction. It was decided to split the system into two parts: a web system for nutritionists and administrators, and a mobile system for patients. Nutrition apps are increasingly popular as they help clients manage their diet and make healthier food choices. Requirements were gathered for each user of the system and use case, entity-relationship and architecture diagrams were created. Prototypes were also developed for the web and mobile layout. This project is centred on the Web application for the nutritionist, using technologies such as Vue.js, TypeScript and Node.js. Our project offers an intuitive layout for managing nutritional plans by simplifying the creation, editing, and updating of health plans. Moreover, we allow easy interaction with patient reports and food diaries. Last, this Web Application was designed to allow an easy update of the food database with new foods, particularly unique thermal-based foods.O projeto AquaeVitae promove de forma inovadora a saúde e previne a doença, centrandose nas recomendações dietéticas baseadas na água termal.

In this article, we seek to analyze how the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) communicates on the social network Facebook, considering social responsibility issues. Based on the idea that sport in general, and football, in particular, can play an essential role in social transformation, we try to understand whether football's governing body in Europe has used digital social networks to communicate actions aligned with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). To achieve this objective, we use a mixed methodology, which determines the nature of the research as qualiquantitative with the use of the content analysis technique in a particular case study since it specifically analyzes the UEFA Facebook page and 257 publications made during the year 2021. Thus, we seek to understand if the institution plays the game concerning social responsibility and what contents and objectives stand out in this communication

This project aims at executing a CERN batch use case using Kubernetes, in order to figure out what are the advantages and disadvantages, as well as the functionality that can be replicated or is missing. The reference for the batch system is the CERN Batch System, which uses HTCondor. Another goal of this project is to evaluate the current status of federated resources in Kubernetes, in comparison to the single-cluster API resources. Finally, the last goal of this project is to implement built-in support to Kubernetes federations in OpenStack Magnum, allowing operators to easily create and manage Kubernetes federations with Magnum clusters, through API calls or command line interface. OpenStack Magnum[1] is the container infrastructure component of OpenStack[2], the open-source software that allows CERN to manage its computing resources in order to create private clouds

The teachers of today are inserted in a technological era that provokes them to review their methodological practices. Information and communication technologies (ICTs) is an instrument, although it is not a recent issue. But it is able to offer learners new possibilities for learning. The teacher is based on mastering this tool. The teaching units together with the public managers must subsidize with adequate infrastructure in both hardware, software, internet, applications as well as continuous training. However, many teachers, even though they have received adequate knowledge to deal with the interactive media in the classroom and thus convey new meaning to teach, tend to remain with the old models of teaching and learning. The students are against it. The aim was to understand the apathy, incompleteness or frustration regarding the use of technological media in the classroom of a public high school in the city of Senhor do Bonfim-BA. The research was conducted, preferably, on the night shift, in June, through a questionnaire applied to 18 teachers (100% of the sample). In order to answer the problem: Is teaching time a factor that contributes to the non-use of ICTs in school? The results showed that most of the faculty has more than 20 years of teaching. Another important factor was the infrastructure still to be desired, and both the handsets and the network connectivity are not satisfactory. The data show that the teaching time is a negative factor, considering that they are not teachers who were born of the technological culture
