    In the title complex, [Cu4Br(CN)3(C10H8N2)2]n, the four independent CuI atoms are all in distorted trigonal-planar geometries. One is formed by one N atom and one C atom from two cyanide groups and one Br atom, one is formed by two N atoms from two cyanide groups and one Br atom, and the other two are formed by two N atoms from a chelating 2,2′-bipyridine (bpy) ligand and one C atom from a cyanide group. The structure exhibits a zigzag chain backbone along [101] constructed by bromide and cyanide anions bridging the CuI atoms, with the [Cu(bpy)(CN)] units pointing laterally

    Tourism and Green Development: Analysis of Linear and Non-Linear Effects

    Clarifying the relationship between tourism and green development is conducive to promoting the harmonious coexistence of tourism industry benefits and economic and environmental systems. The externalities of tourism on economies and the environment have sparked numerous fascinating academic research debates; however, few studies have considered the impact of tourism on green development that balances economic growth and environmental protection. This study selects the green development efficiency measured by the super-efficient SBM model with undesired output as a proxy indicator of green development and adopts the panel data regression model and dynamic panel threshold regression model to investigate the linear impact and non-linear characteristics of tourism on the green development efficiency for 284 cities in mainland China at the prefecture level and above. The main findings are as follows: (1) Although China’s green development efficiency showed an upward trend during the study period, the overall level was not high. (2) Tourism has significantly promoted the improvement of China’s green development efficiency, indicating that tourism has become an effective driver of China’s economic green transformation. (3) This type of positive promotion of green development by tourism has a non-linear threshold characteristic, which means that, with the continuous improvement of the development level of the tourism industry, after crossing a specific threshold value and entering a higher level of development, the tourism industry will have an increasing marginal impact on the green development efficiency

    Obstacle Factors and Spatial Measurement of the Well-Being of the Elderly in China

    This paper takes 31 provinces in China as the research object and constructs an evaluation index system for the well-being of the elderly in four aspects (health well-being, income well-being, social well-being and educational well-being) and uses a set-pair analysis model to spatially measure the well-being of the elderly. Then, barrier analysis is used to identify the main factors that lead to the differences in the well-being levels of the elderly in different regions. The results show that: (1) The provinces with higher levels of well-being of the elderly are mainly concentrated in the Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei region, Pearl River Delta region, Yangtze River Delta region and Bohai Sea Rim region. (2) The differences in income well-being levels are the largest among provinces, and the differences in health levels are the smallest among provinces. (3) Analysis of the barriers to elderly well-being shows that the number of beds per 1000 population in health care facilities, elderly dependency ratio, number of higher education schools for adults, number of nursing homes and urban road area per capita are the main factors affecting the differences in the well-being levels of elderly people across provinces. Finally, policy recommendations are made to introduce localized policies for the elderly in China to continuously promote solutions to the problems of the elderly

    Phase Regulation and Defect Passivation Enabled by Phosphoryl Chloride Molecules for Efficient Quasi-2D Perovskite Light-Emitting Diodes

    Highlights The modification of perovskite precursor by a series of phosphoryl chloride molecules can indeed improve the performance of perovskite LEDs (Pero-LEDs). The bis(2-oxo-3-oxazolidinyl) phosphinic chloride can not only regulate the phase distribution by controlling the crystallization rate but also passivate the defects of the quasi-2D perovskite. Highly efficient and reproducible Pero-LEDs are achieved with an maximum external quantum efficiency (EQEmax) of 20.82% and an average EQE (EQEave) of around 20% on 50 devices. Abstract Quasi-2D perovskites have attracted tremendous interest for application as light-emission layers in light-emitting diodes (LEDs). However, the heterogeneous n phase and non-uniform distribution still severely limit the further development of quasi-2D perovskite LEDs (Pero-LEDs). Meanwhile, the increased defect density caused by the reduced dimension and grain size induces non-radiative recombination and further deteriorates the device performance. Here, we found that a series of molecules containing phosphoryl chloride functional groups have noticeable enhancement effects on the device performance of quasi-2D Pero-LEDs. Then, we studied the modification mechanism by focusing on the bis(2-oxo-3-oxazolidinyl) phosphinic chloride (BOPCl). It is concluded that the BOPCl can not only regulate the phase distribution by decreasing the crystallization rate but also remain in the grain boundaries and passivate the defects. As a result, the corresponding quasi-2D Pero-LEDs obtained a maximum external quantum efficiency (EQEmax) of 20.82% and an average EQE (EQEave) of around 20% on the optimal 50 devices, proving excellent reproducibility. Our work provides a new selection of molecular types for regulating the crystallization and passivating the defects of quasi-2D perovskite films

    CsPb(IxBr1− x)3 solar cells

    Owing to its nice performance, low cost, and simple solution-processing, organic-inorganic hybrid perovskite solar cell (PSC) becomes a promising candidate for next-generation high-efficiency solar cells. The power conversion efficiency (PCE) has boosted from 3.8% to 25.2% over the past ten years. Despite the rapid progress in PCE, the device stability is a key issue that impedes the commercialization of PSCs. Recently, all-inorganic cesium lead halide perovskites have attracted much attention due to their better stability compared with their organic-inorganic counterpart. In this progress report, we summarize the properties of CsPb(IxBr1− x)3 and their applications in solar cells. The current challenges and corresponding solutions are discussed. Finally, we share our perspectives on CsPb(IxBr1− x)3 solar cells and outline possible directions to further improve the device performance

    Thoracic ossification of ligamentum flavum caused by skeletal fluorosis

    Thoracic ossification of ligamentum flavum (OLF) caused by skeletal fluorosis is rare. Only six patients had been reported in the English literature. This study reports findings from the first clinical series of this disease. This was a retrospective study of patients with thoracic OLF due to skeletal fluorosis who underwent surgical management at the authors’ hospital between 1993 and 2003. Diagnosis of skeletal fluorosis was made based on the epidemic history, clinical symptoms, radiographic findings, and urinalysis. En bloc laminectomy decompression of the involved thoracic levels was performed in all cases. Cervical open door decompression or lumbar laminectomy decompression was performed if relevant stenosis was present. Neurological status was evaluated preoperatively, at the third day postoperatively, and at the end point of follow-up using the Japanese Orthopaedic Association (JOA) scoring system of motor function of the lower extremities. A total of 23 cases were enrolled, 16 (69.6%) males and 7 (30.4%) females, age ranging from 42 to 72 years (mean 54.8 years). All patients came from a high-fluoride area, and 22 (95.7%) had dental fluorosis. Medical imaging showed OLF together with ossification of many ligaments and interosseous membranes, including interosseous membranes of the forearm (18/23 patients 78.3%), leg (14/23 patients 60.9%), and ribs (11/23 patients 47.8%). OLF was classified into five types based on MRI findings: localized (4/23 patients 17.4%), continued (12/23 patients 52.2%), skip (3/23 patients 13.0%), combining with anterior pressure (2/23 patients 8.7%), and combining with cervical and/or lumbar stenosis (2/23 patients, 8.7%). Urinalysis showed a markedly high urinary fluoride level in 14 of 23 patients (60.9%). Patients were followed up for an average duration of 4 years, 5 months. Paired t-test showed that the JOA score was slightly but nonsignificantly increased relative to preoperative measurement 3 days after surgery (P = 0.0829) and significantly increased at the end of follow-up (P = 0.0001). In conclusion, Fluorosis can cause ossification of thoracic ligamentum flavum, as well as other ligaments. Comparing with other OLF series, a larger number of spinal segments were involved.
