Is U(1) a Good Family Symmetry?
We analyze U(1) as a horizontal symmetry and its possibilities to explain
the known elementary-fermion masses. We find that only two candidates, in the
context of SU(3)SU(2)U(1)U(1)
nonsupersymmetric, are able to fit the experimental result mm.Comment: 10 pages, Accepted for publication in Z. Phys.
Mass Scales and Stability of the Proton in [SU(6)]Z
We proof that the proton is stable in the left-right symmetric gauge model
[SU(6)]Z, which unifies nongravitational forces with flavors,
broken spontaneously by a minimal set of Higgs Fields and Vacuum Expectation
Values down to SU(3)U(1)\hspace{0.2cm} . We also compute
the evolution of the gauge coupling constants and show how agreement with
precision data can be obtained.Comment: 14 page
Nanopartículas Poliméricas en Dermocosmética
Indexación: Web of Science; Scielo.Recent advances in the fields of biomaterials and nanotechnology have allowed the development of advanced nanoparticles for biomedical applications. Despite a vast number of nanostructures such as liposomes, solidlipid nanocapsules, polymeric and hybrid lipidpolymer nanoparticles have been studied as carriers for drug delivery for different pathologies with remarkable promising results; the use of polymeric nanoparticles in dermocosmetic still has not been widely explored. The evolution of cosmetic into the care skin and dermatology represents novel technological challenges. Also, the increasing knowledge about normal skin physiology and advances in nanotechnology provide an attractive environment for the creation of innovative dermocosmetic formulations. In this work, we discuss the state of the art of polymeric nanoparticles formulated for dermocosmetics, its mechanisms of action, and diffusion into the skin.
Charge and Magnetic Moment of the Neutrino in the Background Field Method and in the Linear R_xi^L Gauge
We present a computation of the charge and the magnetic moment of the
neutrino in the recently developed electro-weak Background Field Method and in
the linear gauge. First, we deduce a formal Ward-Takahashi identity
which implies the immediate cancellation of the neutrino electric charge. This
Ward-Takahashi identity is as simple as that for QED. The computation of the
(proper and improper) one loop vertex diagrams contributing to the neutrino
electric charge is also presented in an arbitrary gauge, checking in this way
the Ward-Takahashi identity previously obtained. Finally, the calculation of
the magnetic moment of the neutrino, in the minimal extension of the Standard
Model with massive Dirac neutrinos, is presented, showing its gauge parameter
and gauge structure independence explicitly.Comment: Latex, 19 pages, 9 PS and 10 EPS figures. One reference added.
