Feature Screening via Distance Correlation Learning

This paper is concerned with screening features in ultrahigh dimensional data analysis, which has become increasingly important in diverse scientific fields. We develop a sure independence screening procedure based on the distance correlation (DC-SIS, for short). The DC-SIS can be implemented as easily as the sure independence screening procedure based on the Pearson correlation (SIS, for short) proposed by Fan and Lv (2008). However, the DC-SIS can significantly improve the SIS. Fan and Lv (2008) established the sure screening property for the SIS based on linear models, but the sure screening property is valid for the DC-SIS under more general settings including linear models. Furthermore, the implementation of the DC-SIS does not require model specification (e.g., linear model or generalized linear model) for responses or predictors. This is a very appealing property in ultrahigh dimensional data analysis. Moreover, the DC-SIS can be used directly to screen grouped predictor variables and for multivariate response variables. We establish the sure screening property for the DC-SIS, and conduct simulations to examine its finite sample performance. Numerical comparison indicates that the DC-SIS performs much better than the SIS in various models. We also illustrate the DC-SIS through a real data example.Comment: 32 pages, 5 tables and 1 figure. In this paper, we study the asymptotic behavior of global solutions of the equation ut=Δu+euu_t=\Delta u+e^{|\nabla u|} in the annulus Br,RB_{r,R}, u(x,t)=0u(x,t)=0 on Br\partial B_r and u(x,t)=M0u(x,t)=M\geq 0 on BR\partial B_R. It is proved that there exists a constant Mc>0M_c>0 such that the problem admits a unique steady state if and only if MMcM\leq M_c. When M<McM<M_c, the global solution converges in C1(Br,R)C^1(\overline{B_{r,R}}) to the unique regular steady state. When M=McM=M_c, the global solution converges in C(Br,R)C(\overline{B_{r,R}}) to the unique singular steady state, and the blowup rate in infinite time is obtained

An Analysis of the Development of China's Commercial Banks under the Structural Reform of the Supply Side

In recent years, with the acceleration of interest rate marketization in China, commercial banks are increasingly facing the business environment of increasing interest rate fluctuations, intensified competition among industries, and slowing down the growth of profitability. At the same time, in the past few years, the hidden credit risks behind the large-scale credit investment and high profits are gradually exposed, and the non-performing loan rate is rising. With the increasingly obvious drawbacks of demand-side management, supply-side reform emerges as the times require. Advocating innovation, adapting to consumption upgrading and guiding the optimization of export structure are its obvious advantages. As one of the main economic bodies, commercial banks should also clearly judge the current historical stage of their own. With the end of extensive economic growth, the expansion of commercial banks has ended, and a new historical turning point has arrived. The implementation of the structural reform on the supply side has put forward more explicit and specific requirements for the financial innovation of commercial banks. In this reform, commercial banks need to gradually establish a set of mechanisms, products and risk prevention system adapted to the new normal situation, and be able to flexibly use the relevant results to prevent and defuse the production capacity. This paper tries to analyze the opportunities and missions faced by commercial banks under the background of structural reform on the supply side, optimize the traditional development structure, sort out a new development framework, and give corresponding policy recommendations. We believe that commercial banks should take the initiative to support the supply-side reform while welcoming new opportunities for development. They should vigorously promote the growth of entrepreneurship finance, accelerate the development of Internet finance, dig deep into changes in customer demand, actively develop green finance, and optimize and adjust the credit structure of banks

On Liberation Nature of Technology From the Perspective of Social Ecological Civilization

Ecological civilization, which reflects the development stage and its state of social progress, is a sublation of aggressive growth model in modern industrial civilization. It is also a discard of extensive technology view that for limitless growth of wealth by abuse of science and technology. To some extent, technologies which represent the essential power of humankind, are born with the nature of liberation for man and its society. Specifically, we can never forget the liberation function of technology. While the nature of modern civilization is for the limitless liberation of human’s ego consciousness and desires by technologies, the nature of contemporary civilization is for the liberation and free of everyone and the whole society by technologies, eliminating the one dimensional society, one dimensional man, and one dimensional thought. In the background of establishing a harmony society, this paper tries to analyze the liberation nature of technology from the perspective of social ecological civilization in three dimensions. The first is the technology liberation in the context of reality, including the tendency of globalization and knowledge economy, the urgent need of green technology and the concrete practice of ecological restoration. The second is the development model of technology liberation in the context of theories, including the technology wildness phase of human ignorance in ancients, the technology civilization phase of dynamic increase of technologies as well as human confidence in modern times, and the eco-scientific phase of harmonious symbiosis in human and nature. And then the development of technology heads for the ultimate dimension of human and natural liberation. The third is a dialectic methodological enlightenment for contemporary technical practice based on the development venation of technology liberation

INTRODUCTION: Work-related low-back pain is prevalent in both developed and developing countries. Since this injury often results in considerable discomfort for the employee and a large expense for the employee and employer, there have been many studies on manual lifting. As it is a major health-risk factor in China, research into problems related to manual lifting is of the utmost importance. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to examine the effect of loads on lumbar spine, knee, and hip joints during manual lifting, and to provide a biomechanical basis for establishment of a Chinese Recommended Weight Limit for employees and for employers

The Impact of Macroprudential Supervision on the Capital Operation of Commercial Banks

    Get PDF
Based on the 8320 observations in 40 quarters of 16 listed banks, this paper empirically analyses the macro-prudential supervision's impact on commercial bank's capital operation through the dynamic unbalanced panel system GMM model. The results show that macro-prudential supervision has exerted active supervision on China's commercial banks, guiding China's commercial banks to establish a capital restraint mechanism and improving the bank's internal capital supplement mechanism. The response of commercial banks to capital supervision is positive. The regulatory rating results influence the active adjustment of the bank's follow-on capital ratio. Commercial banks basically meet the requirements for prudent management of countercyclical capital. Based on the analysis of the data in the article, this paper suggests that the regulatory authorities further strengthen the bank's capital supervision and make the bank's macro-prudential supervision appear more counter-cyclical. At the same time, we must appropriately improve the banking ownership structure, increase the sources of external funds for commercial banks, and enhance the transparency of the financial system so that uninsured loan holders can play a significant role in binding banks

    Get PDF
The educational space of the Architecture faculty is used to cultivate architects. At the same time, it becomes the carrier of architectural ideas and teaching methods. The type of architecture and its spatial organization reflect the architectural education philosophy and attitude. Back in history, as early as the Renaissance, there had study places for architects emerged. After the industrial revolution and the modernist process, the types of architectural education sites are more diverse, and their main features are the spatial form of hybrid and box-in-box. This article preliminarily analyzes the evolution of the outline of architectural education building and interprets the spatial ideas in each period. The study focuses on the famous Dutch architectural school–BKCity of the Delft University of Technology, analyzing the teaching space logic of its distinctive Why Factory and exploring how the related space could stimulate the vitality of architectural education. By the analogy of some architectural schools, it also tries to compare the differences and characteristics of Chinese and Western architectural academies, finding out the spatial significance in architecture discipline, education method as well as sustainable application
