    Design and Evaluation of Digital Baseband Converter Sub-channel Delay Compensation Method on Bandwidth Synthesis

    The effect of sub-channel delay on bandwidth synthesis is investigated to eliminate the “phase step” phenomenon in bandwidth synthesis during the test of CDBE (Chinese Digital Backend). Through formula derivation, we realize that sub-channel delay may cause phase discontinuity between different sub-channels. Theoretical analysis shows that sub-channel delay can induce bandwidth synthesis error in group delay measurement of the linear system. Furthermore, in the differential delay measurement between two stations, bandwidth synthesis error may occur when the LO (Local Oscillator) frequency differences of corresponding sub-channels are not identical. Error-free conditions are discussed under different applications. The phase errors among different sub-channels can be removed manually. However, the most effective way is the compensation of sub-channel delay. A sub-channel delay calculation method based on Modelsim is proposed. The compensation method is detailed. Simulation and field experiments are presented to verify our approach

    Implementation of a High Recall Interactive Literature Retrieval System

    This project-based study implements a high recall and high precision interactive literature retrieval system based on the ReQuery-ReClassify (ReQ-ReC) framework proposed by Wang et al. in 2014. The study summarizes the challenges and difficulties of current methods of literature retrieval and review in achieving high recall in addition to high precision. Following the double-loop mechanism of the ReQ-ReC framework, the project applies the methodology of system design, database design and user interface design to turn the framework into a real-world web application. Heuristic evaluation for the user interface design indicates that the system is user-friendly and can be integrated with literature retrieval systems like PubMed.Master of Science in Information Scienc

    Trust, Perceived Benefit, and Purchase Intention in C2C E-Commerce: An Empirical Examination in China

    It is a class research question about how trust and perceived benefit affect consumers\u27 purchase intentions. This research examines the relationship in a very different context: consumer-to-consumer (C2C) e-commerce in China. Specifically, this research empirically assesses the differences in effect size due to the change of context. First, a theoretical model linking trust, perceived benefit, and their antecedents to purchase intention is developed upon the literature. Then the model is evaluated using empirical data collected at Taobao, the largest C2C e-commerce website in China. Partial least squares based structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) results strongly support the model and research hypotheses. A developing country context can indeed affect the strength of effect. These results contribute to the literature in that they provide new insights toward a more in-depth theoretical understanding. Meanwhile, they can also provide useful guidance for managers

    Construction and Analysis of Ecological Security Patterns in the Southern Anhui Region of China from a Circuit Theory Perspective

    Located in an important biodiversity conservation area in the Yangtze River Delta, the habitats of many species have been severely eroded because of human activities such as tourism development. There is no relevant species conservation plan in place in the region, and scientific guidance on ecosystem change and corridor construction is urgently needed. In this study, we first assess ecosystem service functions based on the InVEST model; then, we assess ecological sensitivity and identify landscape resistance surfaces by constructing ecosystem sensitivity indicators; finally, we construct ecological security patterns by combining landscape resistance surfaces and circuit theory identification. The main results are as follows: (1) The high value area of ecosystem services is located in the southwest, while the northeast part of the study area has lower ecosystem services, and there is a trade-off between the ecosystem services in the study area. (2) There are 38 ecological sources in southern Anhui, with a total area of more than 5742.79 km2, that are the basic guarantees of ecological security, mainly located in the northeast of the study area, and woodland and grassland are the most important components, accounting for 18.4% of the total study area. (3) The ecological security pattern in the study area consists of 63 ecological sources, 37 important corridors, and 26 potential corridors, of which there are 28 pinch point areas and 6 barrier point patches in the study area, mainly located within Huangshan City and Xuancheng City. We recommend that when implementing restoration and rehabilitation measures in the future, policy makers should give priority to pinch points and barrier areas.</p

    Research on low frequency ripple suppression technology of inverter based on model prediction

    The low frequency ripple of the input side current of the single-phase inverter will reduce the efficiency of the power generation system and affect the overall performance of the system. Aiming at this problem, this paper proposes a two-modal modulation method and its MPC multi-loop composite control strategy on the circuit topology of a single-stage boost inverter with a buffer unit. The control strategy achieves the balance of active power on both sides of AC and DC by controlling the stable average value of the buffer capacitor voltage, and provides a current reference for inductance current of the DC input side. At the same time, the MPC controller uses the minimum inductor current error as the cost function to control inductor current to track its reference to achieve low frequency ripple suppression of the input current. In principle, it is expounded that the inverter using the proposed control strategy has better low frequency ripple suppression effect than the multi-loop PI control strategy, and the conclusion is proved by the simulation data. Finally, an experimental device of a single-stage boost inverter using MPC multi-loop composite control strategy is designed and fabricated, and the experimental results show that the proposed research scheme has good low frequency ripple suppression effect and strong adaptability to different types of loads

    Simvastatin Blocks Blood-Brain Barrier Disruptions Induced by Elevated Cholesterol Both In Vivo and In Vitro

    Background. Hypercholesterolemia and disruptions of the blood brain barrier (BBB) have been implicated as underlying mechanisms in the pathogenesis of Alzheimer's disease (AD). Simvastatin therapy may be of benefit in treating AD; however, its mechanism has not been yet fully understood. Objective. To explore whether simvastatin could block disruption of BBB induced by cholesterol both in vivo and in vitro. Methods. New Zealand rabbits were fed cholesterol-enriched diet with or without simvastatin. Total cholesterol of serum and brain was measured. BBB dysfunction was evaluated. To further test the results in vivo, rat brain microvascular endothelial cells (RBMECs) were stimulated with cholesterol in the presence/absence of simvastatin in vitro. BBB disruption was evaluated. Results. Simvastatin blocked cholesterol-rich diet induced leakage of Evan's blue dye. Cholesterol content in the serum was affected by simvastatin, but not brain cholesterol. Simvastatin blocked high-cholesterol medium-induced decrease in TEER and increase in transendothelial FITC-labeled BSA Passage in RBMECs. Conclusions. The present study firstly shows that simvastatin improves disturbed BBB function both in vivo and in vitro. Our data provide that simvastatin may be useful for attenuating disturbed BBB mediated by hypercholesterolemia
