This study was commissioned by YEMAC and the Geneva International Centre for Humanitarian Demining (GICHD) with the following objectives: 1. To assess the overall socio-economic returns from mine clearance investments 2. To make a preliminary assessment of complementary development initiatives for mine-affected communities. 3.To enhance the capacity of YEMAC to conduct future assessments of socio-economic benefits from mine action; assess the community Landmine Impact Scores as a tool for identifying impact and determining priorities for action; advise on how to design ad conduct on-going socio-economic surveys relating to ERW; advise on integrating social differentiation within LIS survey protocols, and advise on enhancements to YEMAC\u27s monitoring and evaluation system

El régimen de restitución de derechos arancelarios (drawback) como factor de competitividad en el sector exportador de pisco, durante el periodo 2008 al 2018

In the study entitled Service-marketing plan to improve brand positioning in the Precisa Diagnóstica SAC clinical analysis laboratory, Chiclayo 2018; its main objecLa presente tesis tiene como objetivo principal determinar el impacto del régimen de restitución arancelario (drawback) como factor de competitividad en el sector exportador de pisco, durante el periodo 2008 al 2018. La metodología que se utilizo fue mixta, es decir, un enfoque cuantitativo y cualitativo, debido a la naturaleza de estudio del trabajo de investigación. Se empleo una población referencial constituida por los exportadores de pisco los cuales se acogen y no se acogen al régimen aduanero drawback. El estudio se exenta de muestra estadística debido a que la investigación se centra en la identificación, recolección, descripción, análisis, procesamiento e interpretación de los datos obtenidos y recolectado por la Superintendencia Nacional de Aduanas y de Administración Tributaria (SUNAT), además de entrevistas que servirán como información adicional y soporte de los resultados de la presente tesis. Las técnicas de búsqueda de información fueron la observación sistemática, la entrevista no estructurada y la investigación documental. Se concluye que el impacto del régimen de restitución arancelario (drawback) en la competitividad del sector exportador del pisco es bajo, debido a que el régimen aduanero drawback representa un incentivo para los exportadores de pisco, sin embargo no es un factor esencial determinante para la mejora en la competitividad de las exportaciones de pisco.The main objective of this thesis is to determine the impact of the drawback regime as a factor of competitiveness in the pisco export sector, during the period 2008 to 2018. The methodology used was mixed, that is, a quantitative and qualitative approach, due to the nature of the study of the research work. A referential population made up of pisco exporters was used, which accept and do not benefit from the drawback customs regime. The study is exempt from a statistical sample because the research focuses on the identification, collection, description, analysis, processing and interpretation of the data obtained and collected by the National Superintendence of Customs and Tax Administration (SUNAT), in addition to interviews which will serve as additional information and support for the results of this thesis. Information search techniques were systematic observation, unstructured interview, and documentary research. It is concluded that the impact of the tariff refund regime (drawback) on the competitiveness of the pisco export sector is low, due to the fact that the customs drawback regime represents an incentive for pisco exporters, however it is not an essential determining factor for the improvement in the competitiveness of pisco exports.Campus Lima Centr

دراسة تحليلية لأثر العبء الضريبي على المستوى المعيشي للأسرة في محافظة اللاذقية

هدف هذا البحث إلى إجراء دراسة تحليلية لأثر العبء الضريبي على المستوى المعيشي للأسرة في محافظة اللاذقية، وتقديم حلول ومقترحات من شأنها أن تساعد المعنيين على اتخاذ قرارات تخفف أثر هذا العبء وتساهم في تحسين المستوى المعيشي، كما هدف إلى التعرف على واقع النظام الضريبي في سورية، ومقارنة العبء الضريبي المحدد في سورية مع العبء الضريبي المحدد وفقاً للمعايير الدولية. أظهرت النتائج وجود أثر ذو دلالة إحصائية للعبء الضريبي في المستوى المعيشي للأسرة، وجود أثر ذو دلالة إحصائية لضريبة الرواتب والأجور في المستوى المعيشي للأسرة، وجود أثر ذو دلالة إحصائية لضريبة الدخل في المستوى المعيشي للأسرة، وجود أثر ذو دلالة إحصائية للضرائب الأخرى(ضريبة العقارات، ضريبة السيارات) في المستوى المعيشي للأسرة، وجود فروق جوهرية بين العبء الضريبي المحدد في سورية والعبء الضريبي المحدد وفقاً للمعايير الدولية

Metabolic crosstalk: molecular links between glycogen and lipid metabolism in obesity.

Glycogen and lipids are major storage forms of energy that are tightly regulated by hormones and metabolic signals. We demonstrate that feeding mice a high-fat diet (HFD) increases hepatic glycogen due to increased expression of the glycogenic scaffolding protein PTG/R5. PTG promoter activity was increased and glycogen levels were augmented in mice and cells after activation of the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1) and its downstream target SREBP1. Deletion of the PTG gene in mice prevented HFD-induced hepatic glycogen accumulation. Of note, PTG deletion also blocked hepatic steatosis in HFD-fed mice and reduced the expression of numerous lipogenic genes. Additionally, PTG deletion reduced fasting glucose and insulin levels in obese mice while improving insulin sensitivity, a result of reduced hepatic glucose output. This metabolic crosstalk was due to decreased mTORC1 and SREBP activity in PTG knockout mice or knockdown cells, suggesting a positive feedback loop in which once accumulated, glycogen stimulates the mTORC1/SREBP1 pathway to shift energy storage to lipogenesis. Together, these data reveal a previously unappreciated broad role for glycogen in the control of energy homeostasis
