    THE BENEFITS OF IMAGES: GUESS AND CHECK GAME IN MATH CLASSROOM

    Geometry is a learning that requires some abilities to cover it. One of it is the spatial ability. The purpose of this study are how learning geometry in mathematics education, Teacher Training and Education Faculty at the University of Muhammadiyah Purwokerto, Indonesia can be easily understood by students. So, the researchers made a model of learning that is associated with the game, guess and check game is one of a game which is support for the student to understand the geometry with easily. Guess and check game consists of several steps or rules of the game. Guess and Check game also closely associated with the image. To improve a spatial ability and motivation to learn geometry for students, images are needed in the game especially in guess and check game. How guess and check the game as the application of the use of the image can improve spatial ability and motivation to learn in geometry?&nbsp

    Artikel ini merupakan hasil kajian pustaka yang dilakukan dari berbagai artikel yang telah diterbitkan dari banyak sumber dan penulis mencoba menganalisa untuk mendapatkan kesimpulan mengenai perbedaan konsep matematika dan pengetahuan secara umum ditinjau dari ras dan gender manusia. Artikel ini juga dihubungkan dengan dampak psikologi antara gender manusia yaitu laki-laki dan perempuan. Hal-hal apa saja yang harus pendidik lakukan untuk mengantisipasi perbedaan tersebut. Perbedaan konsep matematika didasarkan pada bagaimana siswa laki-laki dan perempuan menerima materi dalam pembelajaran matematika. Adakah perbedaan yang signifikan dalam menerima ilmu dalam pembelajaran ataukah perbedaan itu diakibatkan oleh dampak psikologi yang sedang terjadi. Pengetahuan secara umum juga dianalisa secara kajian artikel dari berbagai sumber, adakah perbedaan antara laki-laki dan perempuan dalam memperoleh pengetahuan dalam hidupnya. Perbedaan pengetahuan tersebut disamping didapatkan dari isu gender yang terjadi, tetapi juga ras dan adat istiadat dari berbagai wilayah di Indonesia yang bisa menjadi pencetus perbedaan pengetahuan pada anak. Pada makalah ini nanti akan dibahas mengenai perbedaan konsep matematika didasarkan pada gender manusia, perbedaan pengetahuan ditinjau dari ras dan gender pada manusia dan antisipasi yang harus dilakukan guru dalam pembelajarannya di kelas mengenai hal tersebut.     ENCOURAGING STUDENTS CREATIVITY BY SECRET INSIDE BALLOON GAME IN GEOMETRY CLASS

    The purpose of this study are encouraging students’ creativity by secret inside balloon game in geometry class at mathematics education of The University of Muhammadiyah Purwokerto, The Teacher Trainer and Education Faculty. Analytic geometry learning is implemented in the first semester, so that why lecture are conducted provided color and climate for new students how to study in college. Analytic geometry learning designed to the character, spirit, and a conducive learning atmosphere to the students. So, students can attend and follow in another course in the next semester. So this class implemented by using the game, one of the games that can be done is a secret inside balloon game. This game is to impress students that learning in college are fun and interest. There are three abilities to encouraging students’ creativity, they are synthetic ability, analytic ability, and practical ability Secret inside balloon is create with so many basic learning theories, including the theory of Van Hiele and the theory of Dienes. Therefore learning of analytic geometry can be combined by a variety of games. The Steps are planning, action, evaluation, and reflection. The analytic geometry that combined by secret inside balloon game is expected to introduce the students that the course or class in college are interesting and encouraging student attention in mathematics.     Pengembangan Model Pembelajaran Kontekstual Matematika di SMP Kelas IX yang Menekankan Religiusitas Peserta didik

    Penelitian ini bertujuan sebagai berikut: (1) mengembangkan produk pembelajaran kontekstual matematika yang menekankan religiusitas peserta didik, (2) menghasilkan produk pengembangan pembelajaran kontekstual matematika yang menekankan religiusitas peserta didik yang valid, praktis, dan efektif. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan atau development research. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan dan menerapkan pembelajaran kontekstual matematika yang menekankan religiusitas peserta didik. Subjek uji coba adalah peserta didik SMP Negeri 2 Banyumas, Jawa Tengah kelas IXA. Pengembangan pembelajaran difokuskan pada Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran (RPP) dan juga pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran yang membantu keterlaksanaan model pembelajaran, yaitu buku panduan guru (BPG), lembar kerja siswa (LKS), lembar projek. Produk yang diciptakan memenuhi kriteria valid, praktis, dan efektif. Penelitian ini valid, jika hasil penilaian para ahli dan praktisi yang didasarkan pada aspek teoritis yang kuat. Aspek kepraktisan ditinjau dari keterpakaian dan kemudahan guru dalam menggunakan perangkat pembelajaran dan peserta didik dalam pemanfaatan LKS, projek, dan lembar penilaian diri. Keefektifan dilihat dari hasil penilaian LKS, penilaian observasi dan hasil penilaian diri dalam pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan produk pengembangan memenuhi kriteria: (1) kevalidan yakni para dosen ahli menyatakan perangkat pembelajaran valid, dengan kriteria yang dihasilkan oleh RPP yaitu 3,72 4 (valid), BPG menghasilkan 3,91 4 (valid), LKS yaitu 3,64 4 (valid), dan lembar projek peserta didik sebesar 3,47 3 (cukup valid), (2) tingkat kepraktisan yakni; (a) kepraktisan guru terhadap perangkat pembelajaran menghasilkan skor kepraktisan yaitu 4,26 (praktis), (b) kepraktisan peserta didik terhadap pemanfaatan LKS, Projek, dan Penilaian diri yang menghasilkan kriteria yaitu 4,03 (praktis), (3) tingkat keefektifan yakni; (a) hasil penilaian masing-masing LKS1, LKS2, dan LKS3 sebanyak 89%, 92%, dan 95% memperoleh nilai predikat minimal cukup (C), sehingga dikatakan tuntas, (b) hasil penilaian msing-masing observasi1, observasi2, dan observasi3 memperoleh skor 100% (Tuntas), dan (c) skor hasil penilaian diri sebanyak 100% (Tuntas). Oleh karena itu bisa disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran kontekstual matematika yang menekankan religiusitas peserta didik memenuhi kriteria valid, praktis, dan efektif

    A Classroom Action Research (CAR): Students’ Creativity Enhancement Through Problem Solving Learning

    The purpose of this study is to improve students’ creativity through problem solving learning. Students’ creativity is an important issue in Mathematics Economics class. Some of the problems that occur are (1) the lack of students in asking questions; (2) low idea of students; (3) lack of courage in expressing opinions; (4) lack of ability to solve difficult mathematical problems in class, and (5) ) lack of courage in defending his opinion when discussing. This research is a classroom action research on mathematics economics course in Mathematics Education Department, University of Muhammadiyah Purwokerto in 2018/2019 academic year. The research phase includes (1) planning, (2) implementing actions, (3) observation, and (4) reflection. The results of this study show good results, because of the 55 students, only 3 students who scored less in the category and the second cycle only 1 student who scored less. Therefore, it can be concluded that problem solving learning can enhance students’ creativity

    Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan komunikasi matematis mahasiswa pada mata kuliah geometri analitik bidang. Subjek penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa semester I kelas A angkatan 2014 Program Studi Pendidikan Matematika, Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan, Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto. Data penelitian ini diperoleh melalui observasi, wawancara  dan dokumentasi. Data yang didapatkan berupa kemampuan komunikasi matematis kemudian direduksi, dianalisis, disajikan data dalam bentuk kualitatif, dan ditarik kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan komunikasi mahasiswa yang tercermin pada setiap indikator-indikator kemampuan komunikasi mahasiswa tampak pada pembelajaran Geometri Analitik Bidang

    The Model of Creative Thinking, Critical Thinking, and Entrepreneurial Skills Among University Students

    Digital skills for the twenty-first century are comprise of four fundamental capabilities: cognition abilities; process capabilities; systems capabilities; and social skills. Using one's ability to think creatively to demonstrate cognitive abilities can be very effective. On the other hand, critical thinking is a skill that can be developed at the university level and is used to transform raw data into meaningful information. Furthermore, the study purpose is investigate the relationship the entrepreneurial skills in students in the world of education, both in terms of educational and economic issues. Researchers are looking into the relative importance of creative thinking (CRE), critical thinking (CRI), and entrepreneurial skills (ETS) as primary predictors of success when it comes to learning and mastering skills in the technologically advanced development society (TCDS). In this study, which takes a quantitative approach, a cross-sectional survey gathers data. In order to analyze the relationship formed by CRE, CRI, and ETS among university students in TCDS, we used the structural equation model (SEM) method. In this study, 85 students from the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, and 315 students from the Faculty of Economics and Business at Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto participated, for a total of 315 students. The following research procedures were used in this investigation: (3) The relationship between CRE, CRI, and ETS was determined using a Structural Equation Model (SEM). In addition, the findings of this study include the following points: The EFA and CFA analysis revealed that the CRE construct contained four valid sub-constructs, while the CRI and ETS constructs each contained five valid sub-constructs. The results of the SEM analysis revealed a statistically significant relationship between CRE, CRI, and ETS, with a moderately significant relationship between CRE and ETS ( = 0,291), as well as a statistically significant relationship between CRI and ETS ( = 0,143). The correlation between CRE and CRI, on the other hand, was found to be high ( = 0.894). Finally, demonstrate that the CRE, CRI, and ETS have played a role in improving the performance of university students during the TCDS era

    Berpikir Level Tinggi dan TPACK Calon Guru Matematika pada Pembelajaran Matematika Abad ke-21

    In the 21st century, learning requires high-level thinking processes and mastery of technology. The benefits of using technology accompanied by high-level thinking include 1) having many alternative solutions to problems, 2) be a good co-worker, and 3) being more independent in finding solutions. Also, learning mathematics is one of the main lessons in class and has the main characteristics of structured learning and has a systematic flow. The attributes of existing mathematics learning may support the technology learning process, which also has an orderly system and algorithm. This study employed a cross-sectional survey—it exploring high-level thinking and TPACK in mathematics learning. The subject was 182 pre-service mathematics teachers in Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto, Indonesia. This study showed high-level thinking, and TPACK indicated that the item was sufficient to perform factor analysis. The analysis results found that the Kaiser Meyer-Oikin (KMO) value for items in the high-level thinking construct questionnaire with 12 items showed 0.657 (l> 0.50). Subsequently, in TPACK construct questionnaire with 32 items showed 0.783. The results stated that higher-order thinking is the essential capital in learning mathematics. Therefore, learning mathematics also demands the dynamism of technological developments to support the success of learning mathematics.Pembelajaran matematika pada abad ke-21 membutuhkan proses berpikir tingkat tinggi dan penguasaan teknologi. Manfaat penggunaan teknologi yang disertai dengan pemikiran tingkat tinggi antara lain 1) memiliki banyak alternatif pemecahan masalah, 2) menjadi rekan kerja yang baik, dan 3) lebih mandiri dalam mencari solusi. Selain itu, pembelajaran matematika merupakan salah satu mata pelajaran utama di kelas dan memiliki ciri utama pembelajaran yang terstruktur dan memiliki alur yang sistematis. Atribut pembelajaran matematika yang ada dapat mendukung proses pembelajaran teknologi, yang juga memiliki sistem dan algoritma yang teratur. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei potong lintang yang mengeksplorasi pemikiran tingkat tinggi dan Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) dalam pembelajaran matematika. Subjek penelitian adalah 182 calon guru matematika di Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto, Indonesia. Penelitian ini menunjukkan item-item yang terkandung dalam berpikir tingkat tinggi, dan TPACK cukup untuk dilakukan analisis faktor, yaitu berada pada nilai 0.657 dan 0.783 (l> 0.50). Hasil penelitian menyatakan bahwa berpikir tingkat tinggi merupakan modal penting dalam pembelajaran matematika. Oleh karena itu, pembelajaran matematika juga menuntut dinamisme perkembangan teknologi untuk menunjang keberhasilan pembelajaran matematika

    Students Motivation and Mathematical Problem Solving Enhancement through SFAE (Student Facilitator and Explaining) in Problem-Solving Strategies

    This study was employed to enhance learning motivation and mathematical problem-solving abilities of class VIII A students of SMP Negeri 7 Purwokerto through SFAE learning with problem-solving strategies. The subjects of this study were 31 students of class VIII A SMP Negeri 7 Purwokerto. This study is a Classroom Action Research (CAR), which was conducted collaboratively and participative. The action research was carried out in 3 cycles, with each cycle consisting of 2 meetings. Students were given a questionnaire to measure learning motivation and a test to measure their mathematical problem-solving abilities at the end of each cycle. Data collection techniques in this study include observation, questionnaires, tests, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out by descriptive qualitative and quantitative. The finding showed that implementing of SFAE learning with problem-solving strategies could increase students’ learning motivation and mathematical problem-solving abilities. The study found that (1) The average percentage of the overall learning motivation questionnaire is steadily increased from 61.71% in cycle one to 68.10% in cycle two and 76.03% in cycle three. (2) The average percentage of student tests for problem-solving abilities in cycle one also significantly increases from 35.21% to 53.20% in cycle two and 79.61% in cycle three. The average student test rate for each indicator of problem-solving ability has met the study’s success criteria
