In this work, Gray images of formally self-dual codes over the ring S₄ = F₂[u]/‹u⁴› and some of their construction methods are considered. As a result, a considerable number of good formally self-dual binary codes with large automorphism groups have been obtained from the Gray images of formally self-dual codes over S₄. Some have better minimum distances than the best known binary self-dual codes of the same lengths.Publisher's Versio

Generalization of the lee weight to Ζpᵏ

We introduce a new extension of the Lee weight to Ζpᵏ and later to Galois rings GR(pᵏ,m). The weight we define is a non-homogeneous weight and is different than the one that is generally labeled as "generalized Lee weight". Unlike the case of generalized Lee weight, we define a distance-preserving Gray map from (Ζpᵏ, extended Lee distance)to (Fppᵏ⁻¹, Hamming distance), thus making our extension practical for coding theory purposes.Publisher's Versio

Examining the effectiveness of mindfulness based training program on female handball players’ psychological skills and coping with stress strategies

The aim of this study was to examine the effectiveness of a mindfulness-based training program on female handball athletes’ psychological skills and strategies to cope with stress in sport. In the study, as a quasi-experimental method, pre-test, and posttest models without a control group were used. The study group consists of 9 female handball players who play in the Antalya Muratpaşa Municipality Women's Handball Team. In the research, a personal information questionnaire, the Athletic Coping Skills Inventory and Coping Strategies in Sport Competition Inventory were used to collect data as pre-test before the program and as post-test at the end of the program. In the study, the Mindfulness-Based Training Program was implemented once a week as group training, consisting of 8 sessions lasted 60 minutes each. Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test was used to test the significance of the scope difference. As a result of the study, after the program, there was a significant difference in terms of ability to cope with adversity, coachability, concentration, goal setting and mental preparation, and being free from worries. Moreover, a significant difference between pre-test and post-test scores of the task-oriented coping dimension in Sport Competition Inventory was noted.No sponso

Profitable approach in cotton cultivar preferences

Bu araştırma, Harran Ovası koşullarında bölgede ekimi yapılan 10 pamuk çeşidinin (Stoneville-468, Stoneville-453, Stoneville-373, BA-440, BA-119, Carisma, Candia, DP-499, DP-396 ve Uğur) verim, bitkisel özellikler ve lif kalite özellikleri yanında pazar fiyatı x verim = dekara gelir üzerinden çeşitleri sıralamak ve getirisi en yüksek olan çeşit veya çeşitleri belirlemek amacıyla planlanmıştır. Çalışma, Harran Üniversitesi Ziraat Fakültesi Eyyübiye kampüsü deneme alanında 2014 yılı yetiştirme sezonunda yürütülmüştür. Deneme tesadüf blokları deneme deseninde 4 tekerrürlü, her parsel 4 sıralı, sıra arası 70 cm ve sıra üzeri mesafe 15-20 cm olacak şekilde ekimi yapılmıştır. Ekim işlemi 2 Mayıs 2014 tarihinde deneme mibzeri ile yapılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda; kütlü pamuk verimi ve dekara gelir yönünden Stoneville-468 ve BA-440 çeşitleri, erkencilik oranı yönünden BA-440, BA-119 ve Uğur çeşitleri, koza sayısı yönünden Stoneville-468, meyve dalı sayısı yönünden DP-499 ve Carisma, bitki boyu yönünden Candia, koza kütlü pamuk ağırlığı yönünden Stoneville-373 ve Candia, çırçır randımanı yönünden Carisma, Candia, BA-440 ve DP-396, 100 tohum ağırlığı yönünden Candia, Uğur ve Stoneville-453, lif kopma dayanıklılığı ve lif inceliği yönünden BA-440, lif uzunluğu yönünden Uğur, Stoneville-373 ve Stoneville-453, kütlü fiyatı yönünden Candia ve Carisma çeşitlerinin diğer çeşitlerden üstün olduğu saptanmıştır.This research was conducted to determine the best cultivar or cultivars to be able to get the highest income in the 10 cotton cultivars are commonly grown in Harran Plain conditions (Stoneville-468, Stoneville-453, Stoneville-373, BA-440, B-119, Carisma Candia, DP-499, DP-396 and Uğur) and to rank varieties in terms of yield, plant characteristics and fiber quality parameters, market price x yield = income per decare. This study was carried out at the trial site of Agricultural Faculty of Harran University in Eyyübiye Campus in 2014 growing season. Cultivars were sown on May 2, 2014 with the randomized block experimental design with four replications. Experimental plots were consisted of four rows with 70 cm row spaces and 15-20 cm intrarow spaces. As a result of study; it was found that Stoneville-468 and BA-440 cultivars were promising in terms of seed cotton yield and profitable approach per decare. BA-440, BA-119 and Uğur cultivars were placed in first orders in terms of first harvest ratio, Stoneville-468 in terms of number of boll per plant, DP-499 and Carisma in terms of number of sympodia, Candia in terms of plant height, Stoneville-373 and Candia in terms of seed cotton yield per boll, Carisma, Candia, BA-440 and DP-396 in terms of ginning outturn, Candia, Uğur and Stoneville-453 in terms of seed index, BA-440 in terms of fiber strenght and fiber fineness, Uğur, Stoneville-373 and Stoneville-453 in terms of fiber length, and Candia and Carisma in terms of seed cotton price

Tedarik Zinciri Yönetimi Uygulamalarının İşletme Performansına Etkisi: Gaziantep İli Örneği

İşletmeler global pazardaki rekabet ortamında, bir yandan rekabetçi konumlarını korumak isterken diğer yandan da yeni müşterilerinin isteklerini yerine getirmede tedarik zinciri yönetimini uygulamaktadırlar. Küreselleşmeyle beraber artan rekabet ortamında tedarik zinciri yönetimi; işletmelerin performanslarını etkileyen etmenlerden birisi olarak görülmektedir. Tedarik zinciri yönetimi uygulamalarının işletmelerin performanslarını doğrudan ya da dolaylı olarak etkilediği bilinmektedir. Bu etkinin boyutu ve anlamlılık düzeyinin araştırılması önemlidir. Bu bağlamda, çalışmanın amacı tedarik zinciri yönetimi uygulamalarının işletme performansına etkisinin araştırılması olarak belirlenmiştir. Araştırmada tedarik zinciri yönetimi ve işletme performansı ölçekleri kullanılarak oluşturulan anket Gaziantep ilinde üretim yapan 176 üretim işletmesine uygulanmıştır. Toplanan veriler SPSS ve AMOS programları ile analiz edilmiştir. Yapılan analizler sonucunda; tedarik zinciri yönetimi uygulamalarının işletme performansı üzerinde anlamlı ve pozitif yönde etkisinin olduğu bulgularına ulaşılmıştır

Effects of Estrogen on Coronary Artery Calcification and the Relationship Between Osteoporosis and Cardiovascular Diseases in Postmenopausal Women

DergiPark: 1020947tmsjEstrogen deficiency is known to be one of the causes of cardiovascular disease and osteoporosis in postmenopausal women. Coronary artery calcification is one of the major factors of cardiovascular disease. The studies related to the effects of estrogen on coronary artery calcification and the possible relation between osteoporosis and cardiovascular disease rapidly increased in recent years. Estrogen levels decrease in postmenopausal women and can lead to an increased risk of cardiovascular disease. Estrogen could affect cardiovascular diseases by mediating the receptor activator of nuclear factor-kappa B ligand-osteoprotegerin system in vascular smooth muscle cells and autophagy in cardiomyocytes. Current evidence indicates that estrogen has an increasing effect on bone mineral density by multiple biochemical pathways: increasing calcium absorption in the gastrointestinal system, decreasing excretion of calcium in the kidneys, reducing bone resorption, such as enchanting osteoblasts, suppressing osteoclasts by inhibiting proinflammatory cytokines, and inhibiting the activity of osteoclasts by essentially inhibiting the receptor activator of nuclear factor-kappa B ligand-osteoprotegerin system. Recent studies showed a significant relationship between coronary artery calcification and osteoporosis due to estrogen’s role in these pathogeneses, which can be prevented by using estrogen hormone therapy for post- menopausal women. Investigating the association between ınternet addiction, depression, social phobia, social anxiety and psychiatric disorders among secondary education students in Turkey

Introduction: The purpose of the study is to identify the prevalence of Internet addiction (IA) among students and evaluate the association of IA with depression, social phobia, social anxiety and psychiatric disorders. Materials and Methods: A total of 297 students aged 9-14 years and studying at a private school in Gölbaşı/Ankara province were included in the study. The study was conducted between November 2015 and May 2016. The student’s depression inventory; social phobia scale for student and adolescents; social anxiety scale for student-revised and strength and difficulties questionnaire were used as data collection tools. According to the Internet dependency scale, student were classified into 4 groups as non-addicted group, threshold group, risk group and addicted group. Results: According to the Internet dependency scale, the majority (258/86.9%) of the students were not Internet addicts. Twenty seven (9.1%) students were in the threshold group and 12 (4%) student were in the risk group. Compared with the depressed mood, the likelihood of having depression in the risk group was higher (p=0.001). The risk group and the threshold group had higher social phobia and social anxiety scores at a statistically significant level than the non-dependent group (p?0.05). Conclusion: Internet use is an indispensable element for the lives of generation-Z student. However Internet addiction, which is directly related to this condition, causes many psychological and social problems for student at an alarming level. Nanodoldurucu içeren beş farklı kompozitin yüzey sertliği ve pürüzlülüğü açısından değerlendirilmesi

Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı bir nanofil (Filtek Supreme XT) ve dört nanohibrit kompozitin (İvoclar Tetric EvoCeram, Dentsply Ceram X, Voco Grandio, Bisco Ælite) polisaj sonrası yüzey sertliklerini ve pürüzlülüklerini değerlendirmektir. Gereç ve Yöntemler: Her test için her bir kompozitten on adet örnek hazırlandı ve üreticilerin talimatları doğrultusunda şeffaf bant altında polimerize edildi. Polimerizasyondan sonra tüm örnekler OptiDisc polisaj diskleri ile 10’ar sn polisajlandı. Yüzey sertliğinin değerlendirilmesinde Vicker’s sertlik testi ve yüzey pürüzlülüğü için ise yüzey profilometre testi kullanıldı. İstatistiksel analizde her test için örneklerin üç farklı bölgesinden elde değerlerin ortalamaları kullanıldı. Bulgular: Kompozitler arasında yüzey sertliği ve pürüzlülüğü açısından istatistiksel olarak anlamlı farklılıklar bulundu. En yüksek yüzey sertliği değeri Grandio ve Supreme XT gruplarından elde edilirken, en düşük yüzey pürüzlülüğü değeri Supreme XT grubundan elde edildi. Sonuç: Bu bilgiler ışığında kompozit rezin seçerken doldurucu içeriğinin ve yoğunluğunun da dikkate alınması gerektiği görülmüştür
