    Get PDF
Gastric cancer is one of the most common cancers and one of themost frequent causes of cancer deaths worldwide. Early detection andaccurate preoperative staging of gastric cancer is essential for planning optimal therapy such as endoscopic mucosal resection or gastric resection and offers the best prognosis. With advanced technology in diagnostic instruments and the mass screening, early gastric cancer has been detected easier. One-point cancer of gastric is a special type of early gastric cancer[1]. Diagnosis of one-point cancer of gastric is important for both the immediate treatment and the prognosis. There is still no consensus on the operation extent and postoperative treatment for patients with one-point cancer of gastric. Learned from previous reports[2-5], we know that existed in the superfi cial layer of the gastric mucosa and the superfi cial ulcer is one of the important characteristics of one point cancer of gastric. Herein, we report a case of one point cancer of gastric with the appearance of a deep infi ltrating ulcer. To the best of our knowledge, no such type of one point cancer of gastric has been reported

Thermal transport is an important energy transfer process in nature. Phonon is the major energy carrier for heat in semiconductor and dielectric materials. In analogy to Ohm's law for electrical conductivity, Fourier's law is a fundamental rule of heat transfer in solids. It states that the thermal conductivity is independent of sample scale and geometry. Although Fourier's law has received great success in describing macroscopic thermal transport in the past two hundreds years, its validity in low dimensional systems is still an open question. Here we give a brief review of the recent developments in experimental, theoretical and numerical studies of heat transport in low dimensional systems, include lattice models, nanowires, nanotubes and graphenes. We will demonstrate that the phonon transports in low dimensional systems super-diffusively, which leads to a size dependent thermal conductivity. In other words, Fourier's law is breakdown in low dimensional structures

Multifunctional tribometer development and performance study of CuCrZr-316L material pair for ITER application

Radio-Frequency (RF) contacts are key components on the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) Ion Cyclotron Resonance Heating (ICRH) antenna, and these components are facing big challenges such as 2 kA operation current load and intensive sliding under up to 250 °C in high vacuum. Stainless steel (SS) 316L and CuCrZr are most likely to be applied as base materials for the conductor and the RF contacts louvers. To evaluate the performance of the selected materials, their electrical and tribological behaviors have to be studied. A multifunctional tribometer which can mimic the ITER ICRH RF contacts' relevant working conditions was designed and built in CEA. The contact resistance (Rc) and coefficient of friction (CoF) of CuCrZr-316L pair were researched on this tribometer

A hybrid experiment consisting of emulsion chambers, burst detectors and the Tibet II air-shower array was carried out at Yangbajing (4,300 m a.s.l., 606 g/cm2^2) in Tibet to obtain the energy spectra of primary protons and heliums. From three-year operation, these energy spectra are deduced between 101510^{15} and 101610^{16} eV by triggering the air showers associated with a high energy core and using a neural network method in the primary mass separation. The proton spectrum can be expressed by a single power-law function with a differential index of 3.01±0.11-3.01 \pm 0.11 and 3.05±0.12-3.05 \pm 0.12 based on the QGSJET+HD and SIBYLL+HD models, respectively, which are steeper than that extrapolated from the direct observations of 2.74±0.01-2.74 \pm 0.01 in the energy range below 101410^{14} eV. The absolute fluxes of protons and heliums are derived within 30% systematic errors depending on the hadronic interaction models used in Monte Carlo simulation. The result of our experiment suggests that the main component responsible for the change of the power index of the all-particle spectrum around 3×10153 \times 10^{15} eV, so-called ``knee'', is composed of nuclei heavier than helium. This is the first measurement of the differential energy spectra of primary protons and heliums by selecting them event by event at the knee energy region.Comment: This paper has been accepted for publication Physics Letters B on October 19th, 2005.

TaWRKY71, a WRKY Transcription Factor from Wheat, Enhances Tolerance to Abiotic Stress in Transgenic Arabidopsis thaliana

Members of WRKY gene family encode transcription factors involved in plant developmental processes and response to biotic and abiotic stresses. In order to understand the function of the TaWRKY71 gene, a homologue gene was isolated and characterised in wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) genotype TAM107. Tissue-specific gene expression profiles indicated that TaWRKY71 was constitutively expressed in roots, stems, leaves, stamen and pistil. The relative expression of TaWRKY71 was elucidated under ABA treatment and other abiotic stresses. In agreement with this, several putative cis-acting elements involved in ABA-response, drought-inducibility, low-temperature and heat response were detected in the promoter region of TaWRKY71. The function of TaWRKY71 was further determined by transforming Arabidopsis thaliana. Transgenic plants over-expressing TaWRKY71 displayed enhanced seed germination under ABA treatment and were tolerant to salt and drought stresses. These results indicate that TaWRKY71 gene might play important roles in seed germination and abiotic stress response

Core and Common Members in Chinese Farmer Cooperatives

This paper addresses the distinction between core members and common members in farmer cooperatives in China in terms of the allocation of ownership rights, decision rights, and income rights. Empirical results from a multiple case study indicate that the life cycle and the governance characteristics of farmer cooperatives in China differ from cooperatives in the West world. The genesis of cooperatives in China is due to entrepreneurial farmers and the government, rather than the bottom-up, collective action process of many small farmers. The distribution of equity capital, decision rights, and income rights is quite skewed towards core members. We conclude that the development of cooperatives in China adapts to the local economic and cultural environment and goes via an alternative way to cooperatives in the Western world

A distance protection relay for a 1000-kV UHV transmission line

    No full text
A traditional distance protection relay uses a lumped parameter model of the transmission line. For a long 1000-kV UHV line with large distributed capacitance, such a simplified line model is inadequate and can cause malfunction of the relay due to large errors in the impedance measurement. This paper presents a new line model for a distance relay and the procedure of reliable fault impedance measurement and relay setting. It describes the proposed application of the relay developed to a 645-km 1000-kV UHV transmission line including shunt reactor compensation, which is currently being constructed in China. Tests are carried out on an RTDS (real time dynamic system) to evaluate the relay performance, showing significant improvement compared to a more traditional distance relay. The new distance relay is shown to satisfy the requirement of 1000-kV UHV transmission line protection
