Algebraic Integrability Conditions for Killing Tensors on Constant Sectional Curvature Manifolds
We use an isomorphism between the space of valence two Killing tensors on an
n-dimensional constant sectional curvature manifold and the irreducible
GL(n+1)-representation space of algebraic curvature tensors in order to
translate the Nijenhuis integrability conditions for a Killing tensor into
purely algebraic integrability conditions for the corresponding algebraic
curvature tensor, resulting in two simple algebraic equations of degree two and
three. As a first application of this we construct a new family of integrable
Killing tensors.Comment: 34 pages, no figure
Machine learning on the road to unlocking microbiota's potential for boosting immune checkpoint therapy
The intestinal microbiota is a complex and diverse ecological community that fulfills multiple functions and substantially impacts human health. Despite its plasticity, unfavorable conditions can cause perturbations leading to so-called dysbiosis, which have been connected to multiple diseases. Unfortunately, understanding the mechanisms underlying the crosstalk between those microorganisms and their host is proving to be difficult. Traditionally used bioinformatic tools have difficulties to fully exploit big data generated for this purpose by modern high throughput screens. Machine Learning (ML) may be a potential means of solving such problems, but it requires diligent application to allow for drawing valid conclusions. This is especially crucial as gaining insight into the mechanistic basis of microbial impact on human health is highly anticipated in numerous fields of study. This includes oncology, where growing amounts of studies implicate the gut ecosystems in both cancerogenesis and antineoplastic treatment outcomes. Based on these reports and first signs of clinical benefits related to microbiota modulation in human trials, hopes are rising for the development of microbiome-derived diagnostics and therapeutics. In this mini-review, we're inspecting analytical approaches used to uncover the role of gut microbiome in immune checkpoint therapy (ICT) with the use of shotgun metagenomic sequencing (SMS) data
ANALYSIS OF FACIAL EXPRESSIONS IN PATIENTS WITH SCHZIOPHRENIA, IN COMPARISON WITH A HEALTHY CONTROL - CASE STUDY
Introduction: Deficits in area of communication, crucial for maintaining proper social bonds, may have a prominent adverse
impact on quality of life in patients with schizophrenia. Social exclusion, lack of employment and deterioration of family life, may be consequences of aggravated social competencies, caused by inability to properly exhibit and interpret facial expressions. Although this phenomenon is known since first clinical descriptions of schizophrenia, lack of proper methodology limited our knowledge in this area. Aim of our study was to compare facial expressivity of the patient with schizophrenia, and the healthy individual.
Methods: 47-years old patient suffering from schizophrenia, and 36-years old healthy individual were invited to participate in
our study. They underwent the examination in Human Facial Modelling Lab in Polish-Japanese Institute of Information Technology in Bytom (Silesia, Katowice). Both participants were presented with two video materials, first one contained different facial expressions, which they had to imitate. Second one a part of comedy show, during which spontaneous reactions were recorded. Acquisition of facial expressions was conducted with marker-based technology of modelling. Obtained data was analyzed using Microsoft Excel.
Results and conclusions: An overall facial expression intensity, expressed as an average value of distances traveled by markers
during shifts from neutral position was higher in case of a healthy participant during both part of the study. The difference was
especially visible in case of an upper half of the face. Utilization of marker-based methods in analysis of human facial expressions seem to be reliable and remarkably accurate

Improved Stability of Inverted and Flexible Perovskite Solar Cells with Carbon Electrode
This is an open access article published under an ACS AuthorChoice License, which permits copying and redistribution of the article or any adaptations for non-commercial purposes. We demonstrate highly efficient, stable, and flexible perovskite solar cells of large areas, utilizing a carbon back-contact electrode in a p–i–n cell configuration. We enabled good electronic contact at the interface with carbon by inserting an ultrathin buffer layer before the carbon coating. Solar cells of such structure reach a power conversion efficiency of 15.18% on PET foil (device area of 1 cm2). We performed impedance spectroscopy and transient decay measurements to understand the electron transport characteristics. Furthermore, we demonstrate excellent operational (maximum power point) and thermal (85 °C) stability of these devices over 1000 h of aging
Testicular cancer risk incidence in perception of young men
Introduction. Testicular cancer is the most frequently occurring malignant tumour in young men. Self-examination of testicles allows for early detection of the disease. The objective of this paper was to evaluate the level of knowledge concerning testicular cancer among young men.
Material and methods. The study was conducted among 296 students of the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn.
Results. The majority of students were never previously interested in the issue of testicular cancer. The students were not able to say at what age this type of cancer usually occurs nor did they know the risk factors or symptoms of the disease. Students of Medicine had much more knowledge about testicular cancer than the students from other fields. 91% of the examined men declared that doctors never informed them about the risk of developing testicular cancer and the importance of self-examination of the testicles. 72% of students of faculties other than medical, never searched for any information concerning testicular cancer on their own. Only 29% of students of all faculties perform self-examination of their testicles.
Conclusions. Young man do not have sufficient knowledge concerning testicular cancer and rarely self-examine their testicles. Therefore, it is justified to disseminate more broadly knowledge concerning testicular cancer and to encourage young men to undergo self-examination.
Materiał i metody
Badaniem ankietowym objęto 296 studentów Uniwersytetu Warmińsko-Mazurskiego w Olsztynie.
Wyniki
Wnioski
Młodzi mężczyźni nie mają odpowiedniej wiedzy na temat raka jądra i rzadko wykonują samobadanie jąder. Zasadne jest rozpowszechnianie wśród młodych mężczyzn wiedzy na temat raka jądra i zachęcanie do wykonywania samobadania
