Fungsi Tari Babangsai Dalam Upacara Aruh Ganal Di Desa Loksado Hulu Sungai Selatan Kalimantan Selatan
The Babangsaidance is performed as an expression of thankfulness and happiness due to the successful rice harvest. This dance is an inseparable part of the AruhGanalceremony. The joyfulness of the supporting community can be seen from the presence of the members of Loksado society as both the performers and organizers of the ceremony. The AruhGanalceremony is carried out once a year, that is in accordance with the rule of the society of the village of river upstream Loksado, south Borneo. The existence of the Babangsaidance in the AruhGanalritual ceremony functions as a means of ceremony on one hand, and as an entertainment for the society carrying out the ritual ceremony on the other. Consequently, the ceremony may take place continually for seven days and seven nights
Generalized vegetation map of north Merrit Island based on a simplified multispectral analysis
A simplified system for classification of multispectral data was used for making a generalized map of ground features of North Merritt Island. Subclassification of vegetation within broad categories yielded promising results which led to a completely automatic method and to the production of satisfactory detailed maps. Changes in an area north of Happy Hammocks are evidently related to water relations of the soil and are not associated with the last winter freeze-damage which affected mainly the mangrove species, likely to reestablish themselves by natural processes. A supplementary investigation involving reflectance studies in the laboratory has shown that the reflectance by detached citrus leaves, of wavelengths lying between 400 microns and 700 microns, showed some variation over a period of seven days during which the leaves were kept in a laboratory atmosphere
Generalization of the coupled dipole method to periodic structures
We present a generalization of the coupled dipole method to the scattering of
light by arbitrary periodic structures. This new formulation of the coupled
dipole method relies on the same direct-space discretization scheme that is
widely used to study the scattering of light by finite objects. Therefore, all
the knowledge acquired previously for finite systems can be transposed to the
study of periodic structures.Comment: 5 pages, 2 figures, and 1 tabl
Study of charm and beauty mass spectra, semileptonic decays of and in a phenomenological potential model
Using a non-relativistic potential model, we obtain the mass spectra,
leptonic decay constants, and parameters of the Isgur-Wise function for the
beauty and charm mesons. With the calculated quantities, we investigate purely
leptonic decays of , , , semileptonic decay modes and for three lepton
channels , and obtain the corresponding branching fractions. transitions are also studied. Next, we
apply the form factors for spin zero and spin one transitions of to
calculate the nonleptonic branching ratios of , where and stand for the vector meson and the
pseudoscalar meson, respectively. Our results are found to be in agreement with
those obtained in the experimental and theoretical results
Human action recognition via skeletal and depth based feature fusion
This paper addresses the problem of recognizing human actions captured with depth cameras. Human action recognition is a challenging task as the articulated action data is high dimensional in both spatial and temporal domains. An effective approach to handle this complexity is to divide human body into different body parts according to human skeletal joint positions, and performs recognition based on these part-based feature descriptors. Since different types of features could share some similar hidden structures, and different actions may be well characterized by properties common to all features (sharable structure) and those specific to a feature (specific structure), we propose a joint group sparse regression-based learning method to model each action. Our method can mine the sharable and specific structures among its part-based multiple features meanwhile imposing the importance of these part-based feature structures by joint group sparse regularization, in favor of discriminative part-based feature structure
selection. To represent the dynamics and appearance of the human body parts, we employ part-based multiple features extracted from skeleton and depth data respectively. Then, using the group sparse
regularization techniques, we have derived an algorithm for mining the key part-based features in the proposed learning framework.
The resulting features derived from the learnt weight matrices are more discriminative for multi-task classification. Through extensive experiments on three public datasets, we demonstrate that our approach outperforms existing methods
Perbandingan Daya Antioksidan Ekstrak Metanol Daun Tembakau (Nicotiana Tabacum L) Dengan Rutin Terhadap Radikal Bebas 1,1-diphenil-2-pikrilhidrazil (Dpph)
An experiment was done to compare the antioxidant activity of methanolic extract of tobacco leaves and rutin. This experiment was conducted by extracting methanolic extract of tobacco leaves with soxhletation method with methanol and measuring the absorbance of DPPH using spectrofotometry UV- Vis in λ 517 nm. The obtained data was analized by t-test with the confidence level 95%. The result showed that methanolic extract of tobacco leaves extract and rutin have the different of antioxidant activity.

Evolution of a barotropic shear layer into elliptical vortices
When a barotropic shear layer becomes unstable, it produces the well known
Kelvin-Helmholtz instability (KH). The non-linear manifestation of KH is
usually in the form of spiral billows. However, a piecewise linear shear layer
produces a different type of KH characterized by elliptical vortices of
constant vorticity connected via thin braids. Using direct numerical simulation
and contour dynamics, we show that the interaction between two
counter-propagating vorticity waves is solely responsible for this KH
formation. We investigate the oscillation of the vorticity wave amplitude, the
rotation and nutation of the elliptical vortex, and straining of the braids.
Our analysis also provides possible explanation behind the formation and
evolution of elliptical vortices appearing in geophysical and astrophysical
flows, e.g. meddies, Stratospheric polar vortices, Jovian vortices, Neptune's
Great Dark Spot and coherent vortices in the wind belts of Uranus.Comment: 7 pages, 4 figures, Accepted in Physical Review
Economic Analysis of Working Waterfronts in the United States
Waterfront communities in the United States, whether rural or urban, recreational or industrialized, have been subject to economic, technological, ecological, and demographic changes that challenge their continued existence or development. The purpose of this study is to document the current status, contribution to regional economies, and future prospects of U.S. coastal communities in order help promote their longâterm economic prosperity. A review of the relevant literature on economic valuation of waterfront and oceanârelated economic activities found that previous studies usually evaluated only one particular economic sector or specific region. The present study attempts to provide a comprehensive evaluation of all oceanârelated economic activity for all coastal regions of the United States
