    The Roman Roads Between Upper Moesia and Thrace: Archaeological and Epigraphic Evidence

    The paper focuses on a little-known Roman vicinal communication that connected the River Timok region in Upper Moesia with the Roman town of Pautalia in the province of Thrace. In Roman times the most important feature of both of these two regions was mining activity. This road that connected two mining centres was most likely to have been used for the transport of ore. Although it is not mentioned in the extant Roman itineraries, it was certainly an important compendium between two Roman centres and was marked by milestones. This paper also reconsider

    Standardna mišićna relacija sila-brzina (F-V) može se primenjivati u testiranjima mehaničkih osobina mišića. Generalizacija parametara F-V relacije modela dva opterećenja sa jedne mišićne grupe na druge i primena ovog modela u izokinetičkim uslovima nije dovoljno istražena. Ciljevi su realizovani kroz dva dela istraživanja. U prvom su postavljeni ciljevi: Da se utvrdi linearnost F-V relacije, konkurentna validnost parametara modela dva opterećenja i mogućnost generalizacije između istih parametara modela dva opterećenja pri skokovima sa počučnjem, na bicikl ergometru i pri opružanju potkolenice u izometrijskim uslovima. U drugom delu istraživanja cilj je bio da se utvrdi konkurentna validnost parametara modela dve brzine kod opružanja potkolenice u izokinetičkim uslovima. Rezultati prvog dela istraživanja pokazali su da su parametri modela dva opterećenja bili veći od direktno izmerenih varijabli za sve testove. Korelacija između pomenutih parametara je bila visoka, osim pri parametru sile na bicikl ergometru. Rezultati su pokazali da je korelacija između istih parametara novog i standardnog modela pri različitim testovima za mišiće nogu varirala od umerene do visoke. Rezultati drugog dela istraživanja pokazali su da je F-V relacija gotovo linearna. Dobijena je gotovo identična F-V relacija primenom modela dve brzine, pri samo dve standardne ugaone brzine - 60 i 180 °/s. Dobijeni rezultati govore u prilog upotrebi modela dva opterećenja koji je daleko jednostavniji, a daje jednako kvalitetne informacije kao klasičan regresioni model približno linearne F-V relacije. Pokazano je da je mogućnost generalizacije mišićne snage nešto veća, nego generalizacija mišićne sile. Ovaj naučni doprinos otvara mogućnost pojednostavljenja testiranja mehaničkih kapaciteta mišića.he standard muscle force-velocity (F-V) relationship can be applied in testing the mechanical properties of muscles. The generalization of the parameters of the F-V relationship of the two-load model from one muscle group to another and the application of this model under isokinetic conditions have not been sufficiently investigated. The objectives have been achieved by two parts of the study. Aims within first were: To determine the linearity of the F-V relationship, the concurrent validity of the two-load parameters and the possibility of generalization between the same parameters of the two-load model during testing in squat jumps, on the cycle ergometer and for lower leg extension under isometric conditions. In second part of the study, the aim was to determine the concurrent validity of two-velocity model parameters in lower leg extension under isokinetic conditions. The results of the first part of the study showed that in all tests the parameters of the two- load model were higher than the directly measured variables. The correlation between the above parameters was high, except for the force parameter on the cycling ergometer. The results showed that the correlation coefficients between the same parameters of the new and the standard F-V model varied from moderate to high in different tests for the leg muscles. The results of the second part of the study showed that the F-V relationship was approximately linear. An almost identical F-V relationship was obtained by applying the two- velocity model, at only two standard angular velocities - 60 and 180 °/s. The results obtained speak in favor of applying the two-load model, which is far simpler, and provides the same quality of information as the classical regression model of approximately linear F-V relationship. It has been shown that the possibility of generalizing the muscle power is slightly higher than the generalization of the muscle force. This scientific contribution opens the possibility to simplify the testing of mechanical muscle capacities

    The use of hydropower potential in the Republic of Serbia is dependent on the demand for electricity and implies meeting the basic and special needs for energy, certainty of delivery to the consumers, attaining lower prices, aligning the development of the energy sector and economic and societal development and rational production, transmission and distribution of electrical energy. By establishing a specific public-private partnership model (PPP) the water sector can use the renewable potential of the amounts and quality of water and manage its water resources to gain indirect, induced and direct supply that may impact the private energy efficiency and that meets ever growing demand of the energy sector, that is their supply in the energy market. Today’s conditions under which the water sector is functioning and the attitude towards energy demands need to be changed by establishing a relationship between the public and the private domains in accordance with the principles and requirements that apply on PPP and under conditions that are based on the national and EU legislation

    Reversion of developmental mode in insects: evolution from long germband to short germband in the polyembrionic wasp Macrocentrus cingulum Brischke

There is no public supplementary material available for this publication.Germband size in insects has played a central role in our understanding of insect patterning mechanisms and their evolution. The polarity of evolutionary change in insect patterning has been viewed so far as the unidirectional shift from the ancestral short germband patterning of basal hemimetabolous insects to the long germband patterning observed in most modern Holometabola. However, some orders of holometabolic insects display both short and long germband development, though the absence of a clear phylogenetic context does not permit definite conclusions on the polarity of change. Derived hymenoptera, that is, bees and wasps, represent a classical textbook example of long germband development. Yet, in some wasps putative short germband development has been described correlating with lifestyle changes, namely with evolution of endoparasitism and polyembryony. To address the potential reversion from long to short germband, we focused on the family Braconidae, which displays ancestral long germband development, and examined the derived polyembryonic braconid Macrocentrus cingulum. Using SEM analysis of M. cingulum embryogenesis coupled with analyses of embryonic patterning markers, we show that this wasp evolved short germband embryogenesis secondarily, in a way that is reminiscent of embryogenesis in the beetle Tribolium castaneum.     Predmet ovog rada su oblici razvoja i promene agonistički koncipiranog selfa (Gutvajn i Džinović, 2019; Džinović, 2020), koji se oslanja na polifono, fukoovsko i konstruktivističko stanovište. Ovaj model se delimično nadovezuje na doprinose eriksonovskog, narativnog i dijaloškog modela identiteta, koji su naglasili kontinuitet u doživljaju sebe (Erikson, 2008), kroz konstruisanje ličnog narativa, aproprijacijom metanarativa (Bruner, 1991; 2003; McAdams, 1996, 2003; Nelson, 2003), u kojem različite Ja-pozicije (glasovi) demokratski pregovaraju (Hermans, 2018).     “I am tilting at windmills”: Tensions in teacher professional identity from the perspective of the model of the agonistic self

    У овом раду представљамо експлоративно истраживање у чијем су фокусу тензије у професионалном идентитету наставника, које смо конципирали ослањајући се на модел агонистичког селфа. У истраживању је учествовало девет наставница предметне и разредне наставе из две београдске основне школе. Истраживање смо дизајнирали као вишеструку студију случаја у којој смо као помоћну методу анализе података, добијених путем полуструктурисаног интервјуа, користили тематску анализу. Као критеријум селекције тензичних ситуација користили смо присуство једног од четири типа тензичних односа у агонистичком селфу: критичко прихватање, продуктивна тензија, акутни сукоб и трајни сукоб. Ове односе интерпретирали смо као различите начине одвијања психосоцијалне динамике и решавања психолошке тензије учесница. Селектоване ситуације смо, потом, тематски категорисали. Идентификовали смо 9 тема у вези са којима наставнице имају професионалне дилеме. Наши резултати указују на то да се иста професионална дилема у селфу наставника манифестује кроз различите типове тензичног односа, што сугерише да није довољно усмерити истраживачку пажњу на садржај наратива о професионалним дилемама већ и на различите механизме психосоцијалне динамике путем којих се дате тензије одвијају и разрешавају. Оваквав поглед на професионалне дилеме наставника представља допринос за осмишљавање нових и унапређивање постојећих модела професионалног развоја наставника.In this paper, we present an exploratory study on tensions in teacher professional identity based on the Model of Agonistic Self. The sample comprised nine class and subject teachers employed at two primary schools in Belgrade. The research was conceived as a multiple-case study in which thematic analysis was used as an auxiliary method for analyzing the data obtained via a semi-structured interview. The criterion for the selection of tense situations was the presence of one of the four types of tense relations in the agonistic self: acceptance with critique, productive tension, acute conflict, and permanent conflict. These relations were interpreted as different forms of psychosocial dynamics and ways of resolving psychological tension among participants. Subsequently, we thematically categorized the selected situations. We identified nine themes in relation to which our participants had professional dilemmas. Our findings indicate that the same professional dilemma within a teacher’s self can manifest itself in different kinds of tense relations. This suggests that it is not sufficient to direct research attention towards the content of the narratives about professional dilemmas, but that it is also necessary to explore different mechanisms of psychosocial dynamics through which these tensions develop and get resolved. This perspective on teachers’ professional dilemmas represents a contribution to the creation of new models and the refinement of existing models of teacher professional development
