A IMPORTÂNCIA DOS PROFISSIONAIS ENFERMEIROS NA ASSISTÊNCIA AO COVID-19

Objective: the Objective of the research is understand the pathology of the Corona Virus and everything that surrounds it in order to promove a collection of information about the disease and understand the importance of the nursing team for assistance. Methodology: was used research instruments such as Scielo, BVS and Pubmed to obtain an integrative literature review. Results: was selected 16 articles about the theme whereupon separated by category. Conclusion: the results obtained were an explanation of the pathology itself beyong the historical and epidemiological points and finally the conduct of the nursing professionals taking into account the systematization of nursing care and its importance for the pandemic by corona virus. The theme is being studied a lot currently but it is considerable to focus on nursing and how this team can act in a positive way.Objetivo: O objetivo da pesquisa é compreender a patologia do Corona vírus e tudo que o cerca, a fim de promover um acervo de informações sobre a doença e compreender a importância da equipe de enfermagem para a assistência. Metodologia: foi utilizado instrumentos de pesquisa como o Scielo, a BVS e o Pubmed para a obtenção de uma revisão integrativa da literatura. Resultados: foram selecionados 16 artigos sobre o tema no qual foram separados por categoria. Conclusão: Os resultados obtidos foram de um esclarecimento sobre a patologia em si além dos pontos históricos e epidemiológicos e por fim a conduta dos profissionais enfermeiros, levando em consideração a sistematização da assistência de enfermagem e sua importância para a pandemia por coronavírus. O tema está sendo bastante estudado atualmente, porém procurou-se focar na enfermagem e como essa equipe pode atuar de uma forma positiva

Implications of prioritizing HIV cure: new momentum to overcome old challenges in HIV.

BACKGROUND: Curing HIV is a new strategic priority for several major AIDS organizations. In step with this new priority, HIV cure research and related programs are advancing in low, middle, and high-income country settings. This HIV cure momentum may influence existing HIV programs and research priorities. DISCUSSION: Despite the early stage of ongoing HIV cure efforts, these changes have directly influenced HIV research funding priorities, pilot programs, and HIV messaging. The building momentum to cure HIV infection may synergize with strategic priorities to better identify adults and infants with very early HIV infection. Although HIV cure represents a new goal, many existing programs and research techniques can be repurposed towards an HIV cure. HIV messages focused on engaging communities towards an HIV cure need to be careful to promote ARV adherence and retention within the HIV continuum of care. An increased emphasis within the AIDS field on finding an HIV cure has several important implications. Strengthening connections between HIV cure research and other areas of HIV research may help to catalyze research and facilitate implementation in the future

Treatment simplification in HIV-infected adults as a strategy to prevent toxicity, improve adherence, quality of life and decrease healthcare costs

Since the advent of highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART), the treatment of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection has become more potent and better tolerated. While the current treatment regimens still have limitations, they are more effective, more convenient, and less toxic than regimens used in the early HAART era, and new agents, formulations and strategies continue to be developed. Simplification of therapy is an option for many patients currently being treated with antiretroviral therapy (ART). The main goals are to reduce pill burden, improve quality of life and enhance medication adherence, while minimizing short- and long-term toxicities, reducing the risk of virologic failure and maximizing cost-effectiveness. ART simplification strategies that are currently used or are under study include the use of once-daily regimens, less toxic drugs, fixed-dose coformulations and induction-maintenance approaches. Improved adherence and persistence have been observed with the adoption of some of these strategies. The role of regimen simplification has implications not only for individual patients, but also for health care policy. With increased interest in ART regimen simplification, it is critical to study not only implications for individual tolerability, toxicity, adherence, persistence and virologic efficacy, but also cost, scalability, and potential for dissemination and implementation, such that limited human and financial resources are optimally allocated for maximal efficiency, coverage and sustainability of global HIV/AIDS treatment

Objective: Understand the importance of professional nursing qualifications in Libras (Brazilian Sign Language). Methodology: This is an integrative review study of the bibliography, from 2019 to 2023, through a survey in the electronic database of the Virtual Health Library (BVS) and Scientific Electronic Library Online (Scielo). Results: 10 scientific articles were selected that addressed subjects which were separated and organized by categories. Conclusion: By knowing how to communicate appropriately with the target audience, nurses acquire more skills that benefit not only their personal life, but also the quality of care provided, wherever they work.Objetivo: Compreender a importância da qualificação profissional da Enfermagem em Libras (Língua Brasileira de Sinais). Metodologia: Trata-se de um estudo de revisão integrativa da bibliografia, no período de 2019 a 2023, através de um levantamento em base de dados eletrônicos da Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde (BVS) e Scientific Electronic Library Online (Scielo). A Ação Inibitória Contra as Cláusulas Abusivas

This essay analyses the evolution of the collective inhibitory action against unfair contract terms under the perspective of the domestic and European law. More precisely, the focus is on both the positive aspects and the critical issues of the remedy. The aim of this essay is to evaluate the efficacy of this remedy twenty years after its introduction into the Italian Civil Code. The analysis confirms that this remedy plays a key role in pursuing a preventive and collective form of protection for consumers, despite having been little considered by the case-law. Specifically, whereas there is an increasing use of other preventive/alternative remedies, this work emphasizes the growing relevance of the inhibitory action’s deterrent effect. Indeed, while those preventive/alternative remedies are generally preferred to the inhibitory action under consideration, the effectiveness of the former still heavily relies on the existence and deterrent effect of the latter.O ensaio analisa, sob o plano do direito interno e europeu, a evolução da ação inibitória coletiva contra as cláusulas abusivas, valorando tanto os elementos positivos na "construção" do remédio, quanto os seus aspectos críticos existentes, de modo a traçar um balanço da funcionalidade e eficiência deste instrumento de tutela, passados vinte anos da sua introdução no Código Civil. Se confirma com essa análise a centralidade e o papel fundamental da ação inibitória no sistema de tutela preventiva coletiva dos consumidores, apesar da escassa aplicação jurisprudencial do remédio. Em particular, destaca-se o acentuar-se da importância da função dissuasora face à crescente difusão de outros instrumentos de prevenção alternativos em relação à própria ação inibitória, que limitam a sua utilização em tribunal, mas cuja eficácia depende estritamente da existência das ações inibitórias e do seu poder dissuasório

Concomitância da hemorragia digestiva alta com varizes esofágicas recorrente de Hipertensão portal: Concomitance of upper digestive hemorrhage with recurrent esophageal varices of portal Hypertension

Objetivos: Conceituar e discorrer sobre Hemorragia Digestiva Alta concomitante a varizes esofágicas decorrentes de hipertensão portal. Metodologia: Pesquisa bibliográfica, descritiva e qualitativa onde levantou-se artigos publicados no período de 2000 a 2022. A pesquisa utilizou-se as seguintes palavras chaves: Hemorragia gastrointestinal; melena; hematoquezia; hematêmese; sangramento; endoscopia. Analisamos 17 artigos publicados no Google Acadêmico, Scielo e PubMed e de 3 livros obtidos pela plataforma online da Universidade do Contestado. Resultados e discussões: Abordados conceitos atuais da hipertensão portal e suas possíveis complicações apresentamos a importância de um tratamento adequado pois, trata-se de uma emergência médica. Conclusão: O diagnóstico da Hemorragia Digestiva Alta causada pela hipertensão portal é de fundamental importância por ser uma emergência médica. O tratamento dependerá de inúmeros fatores como a estabilidade hemodinâmica do paciente em questão e as comorbidades para sua remissão

Redução do uso de medicação em praticantes de meditação transcendental

By providing relaxation of body and mind, the regular practice of Transcendental Meditation (TM) can reduce the use of drugs. The aim of this study was to evaluate the reduction of medication use in regular Sidhi Transcendental Meditation (TM) in the city of Maringá, northwestern Paraná. At the of, a structured questionnaire was answered by 46 Shida meditators from a university extension project developed at the State University of Maringá, main campus. It was observed that by learning to meditate, 23.9% of the interviewees stopped using drugs, mainly psychotropic drugs; 21.7% decreased the dosage of analgesics and/or anti-inflammatory drugs, and 6.5% incited the pharmacological treatment of chronic underlying diseases. Of the total respondents, 60.9% reported having self-medicated during their lives, and 17.4% of the possible pharmacological combinations presented the possibility of drug interaction, mainly between psychotropic and/or analgesic drugs with themselves or with other drugs. Psychic, physiological, social and environmental factors can influence the development and treatment of pathologies. It is concluded that by reducing the use of drugs and possible drug interactions, TM is a possible alternative to complement the treatment of diseases related mainly to the central nervous system and avoid the indiscriminate use of over-the-counter drugs.Ao proporcionar o relaxamento do corpo e da mente, a prática regular de Meditação Transcendental (MT) pode reduzir o uso de fármacos. O objetivo do trabalho foi avaliar a redução do uso de medicação em praticantes regulares de Meditação Transcendental Sidhi, na cidade de Maringá, noroeste do Paraná. No final de 2021, um questionário estruturado foi respondido por 46 meditantes Shida de um projeto de extensão universitária desenvolvido na Universidade Estadual de Maringá, campus sede. Observou-se que ao aprender a meditar, 23,9% dos entrevistados deixaram de utilizar fármacos, principalmente psicotrópicos; 21,7% diminuíram a dosagem de analgésicos e/ou anti-inflamatórios e 6,5% incitaram o tratamento farmacológico de doenças crônicas de base. Do total dos respondentes, 60,9% relataram terem se automedicado durante as suas vidas, e 17,4% das possíveis combinações farmacológicas apresentavam a possibilidade de interação medicamentosa, principalmente entre os psicotrópicos e/ou analgésicos com eles mesmos ou com outros fármacos. Fatores psíquicos, fisiológicos, sociais e ambientais podem influenciar o desenvolvimento e tratamento das patologias. Conclui-se que ao reduzir o uso de fármacos e possíveis interações medicamentosas, a MT é uma possível alternativa para complementar o tratamento de doenças relacionadas principalmente ao sistema nervoso central e evitar o uso indiscriminado de fármacos de venda livre

O direito de voz das crianças na subtração internacional de menores e a emergência de critérios de avaliação

Ante a Convenção de Haia sobre os Aspectos Civis do Sequestro Internacional de Crianças e às exceções de retorno imediato do menor, o presente artigo se debruça sobre a possibilidade de recusa judicial ou administrativa desse retorno pela consideração da vontade do impúbere. Questiona-se, nesse sentido, quais os critérios utilizados pelos Estados na avaliação da idade e maturidade da criança, com vistas ao cômputo de sua opinião. Para isso, o estudo elenca como objetivos específicos a análise dos objetivos e finalidades da Convenção de Haia e de suas exceções; a investigação da existência ou não dos critérios supramencionados; e o exame da posição jurisprudencial pátria quanto ao tema. Metodologicamente, desenvolve-se uma pesquisa qualitativa, baseada no estudo bibliográfico de lições doutrinárias nacionais e estrangeiras e na averiguação de decisões judiciais nacionais. Ao final, concluiu-se pela existência de grande diversidade global no tocante à interpretação da exceção, tendo em vista a eleição de diferentes critérios, havendo, no entanto, uma predominância pela utilização da perícia psicológica no Brasil para a avaliação da maturidade do menor

Bias and unfairness in machine learning models: a systematic literature review

One of the difficulties of artificial intelligence is to ensure that model decisions are fair and free of bias. In research, datasets, metrics, techniques, and tools are applied to detect and mitigate algorithmic unfairness and bias. This study aims to examine existing knowledge on bias and unfairness in Machine Learning models, identifying mitigation methods, fairness metrics, and supporting tools. A Systematic Literature Review found 40 eligible articles published between 2017 and 2022 in the Scopus, IEEE Xplore, Web of Science, and Google Scholar knowledge bases. The results show numerous bias and unfairness detection and mitigation approaches for ML technologies, with clearly defined metrics in the literature, and varied metrics can be highlighted. We recommend further research to define the techniques and metrics that should be employed in each case to standardize and ensure the impartiality of the machine learning model, thus, allowing the most appropriate metric to detect bias and unfairness in a given context
