This article introduces a dataset that captures relevant in- formation about the living conditions, feelings, and habits of residents in Spain during ninety nine days of home confinement. This and other measures, imposed by the Government of Spain to mitigate the impact of the pandemic on the population, have brought with them important economic, labor, and social changes, which have been accompanied by various modifications (some only temporary) in Spaniards habits and behaviours. Data collection was carried out through the implementation of a questionnaire with 33 questions, which was sent by email to the collaborators of GIPEyOP (Elections and Public Opinion Research Group from the University of Valencia). These collaborators, in turn, forwarded the questionnaire to their acquaintances using email and social networks, mainly WhatsApp, Facebook, and Twitter. This non- probabilistic methodology has generated a total of 8387 valid responses. The resulting dataset may be (re)used by sociologists, political scientists, economists, or psychologists, among others, to identify how household chores were distributed among family members during the lockdown, what impact the confinement had on the labor performance of workers, the extent of teleworking and on some (physical and psychological) health issues linked to the confinement, including relationships with the place of residence during confinement. The data also provides information on how social networks spread geographically or what Spaniards thought of the management of the crisis by local, national, and international authorities

Butanediols production from erythritol on Rh promoted catalyst

    Get PDF
The C-O hydrogenolysis of Erythritol to Butanodiols was studied in aqueous solution at 473 K and 25 bar of H2 using Rh/ReOx/TiO2 and the monometallic Rh/TiO2 and ReOx/TiO2 catalysts. The solids were characterized by temperature programmed reduc-tion (TPR), TEM and XPS. TPR and XPS showed that ReOx species are close to Rh particles leading to reduction at lower temperature than Re on mono-metallic catalyst. However, some segregated Rhenium species were suspected by TPR profile for the bimetallic catalyst and detected by TEM. Re/TiO2 exhibited low activity forming only products from dehydration and epimerization. Although Rh/TiO2 showed high activity (total conversion at 14 h), was more selective to C-C cleavage leading to lower car-bon products. Rh/ReOx/TiO2, showed instead, a good activity and selectivity towards C-O hydrogenolysis route yielding 37.5% of Butanodiols. Activation en-ergy and reaction orders on ERY (0.58) and H2 (0.53) were estimated from experiences made at dif-ferent reaction conditions.Fil: Virgilio, Emanuel Martin. Effect of Support Properties on Selective Butanediols Production from Erythritol using Ir/ReOx Catalysts

    Get PDF
This study reports the selective obtaining of butanediols (BDO), widely used in the polymer and synthetic rubber industry, by C−O hydrogenolysis of erythritol. The effect of the support on catalytic activity and selectivity to BDO was exhaustively studied using Ir/ReOx catalysts supported on SiO2, Al2O3, activated carbon, CeO2, TiO2 and ZrO2. The catalysts were thoroughly characterized and it was found that the physicochemical, redox and acidic properties of the supports notably influenced the metal dispersion, reducibility of the species and particle sizes. The most active and selective catalyst was Ir/ReOx/TiO2 (maximum BDO yield of 53 %), favoring C−O hydrogenolysis and minimizing C−C scissions and dehydration reactions. This superior performance was attributed to the formation of small clusters with an intimate contact between Ir and partially oxidized Re species (mainly Re+IV) that favors the appropriate adsorption of erythritol on ReO2 and the further interaction with H2 adsorbed on Ir0 to render BDO.Fil: Virgilio, Emanuel Martin. Dark ladies:Maladaptive personality domains, alexithymia, and the dark triad in women

    Get PDF
Objective:  The Dark Triad (DT) traits (Machiavellianism, narcissism, and psychopathy) have been linked with both alexithymia and maladaptive personality domains (negative effectivity, detachment, disinhibition, antagonism, psychoticism) comprised in the alternative model of personality disorder (AMPD) of the DSM 5. However, the differential associations of DT with the AMPD personality domains need to be further examined in research with homogeneous samples, in order to improve our understanding of malevolent personality traits. Method:  We examined the associations between maladaptive personality domains, DT traits and alexithymia factors in 420 women aged between 18 and 66 years old. Results:  Despite uniform bivariate associations, distinct profiles emerged from multiple regression analyses, in line with conceptual expectations. Antagonism was the only common positive predictor of all DT traits. Negative effectivity was positively associated with narcissism, but negatively with psychopathy and Machiavellianism. Psychopathy was related to high detachment and disinhibition. Alexithymia exerted a mediating effect in the association between AMPD domains and both psychopathy (positively) and Machiavellianism (negatively). Conclusions:  Findings showed differential personality profiles associated with the DT traits in women based on maladaptive traits that characterize personality pathology, with specific emotional mechanisms that may link maladaptive personality domains and the three DT components among women

Real time system applied to the somatosensorial quantitative thermotest

    Get PDF
This work is a real time application for a painless and bloodless analysis of the peripheral nervous system in patients with sensorial disorders due to affections in their thin myelinized fibers and their amyelinic fibers. The Somatosensorial Quantitative Thermotest is an ideal method for this evaluation, since it allows not only to quantify sensorial deficit, but also to value positive sensorial phenomena. The system integrates hardware and software and works based on a battery of tests which, by means of controlled stimuli measure the patient's answer to heat and cold. It should be noticed that these stimuli can be adapted in order to carry out a more accurate diagnosis. Both hardware and software have been specially designed for this application. This permits to control stimuli generation in real time, which reduces sensorial thresholds appreciation errors.Sistemas Distribuidos - Redes Concurrencia - Sesión de póstersRed de Universidades con Carreras en Informática (RedUNCI

COVID-19 and changes in social habits. Restaurant terraces, a booming space in cities. The case of Madrid

    Get PDF
The COVID-19 pandemic and the fear experienced by some of the population, along with the lack of mobility due to the restrictions imposed, has modified the social behaviour of Spaniards. This has had a significant effect on the hospitality sector, viewed as being an economic and social driver in Spain. From the analysis of data collected in two of our own non-probabilistic surveys (N ~ 8400 and N ~ 2000), we show how, during the first six months of the pandemic, Spaniards notably reduced their consumption in bars and restaurants, also preferring outdoor spaces to spaces inside. The restaurant sector has needed to adapt to this situation and, with the support of the authorities (regional and local governments), new terraces have been allowed on pavements and public parking spaces, modifying the appearance of the streets of main towns and cities. This study, focused on the city of Madrid, analyses the singular causes that have prompted this significant impact on this particular city, albeit with an uneven spatial distribution. It seems likely that the new measures will leave their mark and some of the changes will remain. The positive response to these changes from the residents of Madrid has ensured the issue is being widely debated in the public arena

    Get PDF
This paper introduces the SEA database (acronym for Spanish Electoral Archive). SEA brings together the most complete public repository available to date on Spanish election outcomes. SEA holds all the results recorded from the electoral processes of General (1979-2019), Regional (1989-2021), Local (1979-2019) and European Parliamentary (1987-2019) elections held in Spain since the restoration of democracy in the late 70s, in addition to other data sets with electoral content. The data are ofered for free and is presented in a homogeneous and friendly format. Most of the databases are available for download with data from various electoral levels, including from the ballot box level. This paper details how the information is organized, what the main variables are on ofer for each election, which processes were applied to the data for their homogenization, and discusses future areas of work. This data has many applications, for example, as inputs in election prediction models and in ecological inference algorithms, to study determinants of turnout or voting, or for defning marketing strategies

    Get PDF

    Get PDF
