Control synthesis for an unmanned helicopter with time-delay under uncertain external disturbances
This paper presents the controller synthesis for an unmanned helicopter with minimum initial information about the parameters of its mathematical model with time-delays of measured and control signals. The unknown parameters, wind disturbances, and system nonlinearity are considered as external disturbances that are estimated using a multi-gap observer. The estimates obtained are used in the control law to improve the stability rate for flight regimes
Studies of x-ray radiation on the Plasma Focus Facility PF-3
The investigation of the spectral and amplitude characteristics of the X-ray radiation of the plasma focus facility PF-3 (Wmax= 2.8 MJ) has been done. A diagnostics set for X-ray measurements is described. The total energy radiated from the pinch in the spectral range 0.4 - 1.5 keV at the stored energy up to 1 MJ is ~ 10 kJ. Registration of the X-ray radiation spectral structure in the Ne-discharge within the long wavelength spectrum part (~ 100 - 300 eV) have been first done at PF-3-facility. Conclusion about necessity to take into account this spectral range in the total balance of radiation energy has been done. Characteristic cohomology of -form gauge theories
The characteristic cohomology for an arbitrary set of free
-form gauge fields is explicitly worked out in all form degrees ,
where is the spacetime dimension. It is shown that this cohomology is
finite-dimensional and completely generated by the forms dual to the field
strengths. The gauge invariant characteristic cohomology is also computed. The
results are extended to interacting -form gauge theories with gauge
invariant interactions. Implications for the BRST cohomology are mentioned.Comment: Latex file, no figures, 44 page
Subcarrier Wave Quantum Key Distribution in Telecommunication Network with Bitrate 800 kbit/s
In the course of work on creating the first quantum communication network in Russia we demonstrated quantum key distribution in metropolitan optical network infrastructure. A single-pass subcarrier wave quantum cryptography scheme was used in the experiments. BB84 protocol with strong reference was chosen for performing key distribution. The registered sifted key rate in an optical cable with 1.5 dB loss was 800 Kbit/s. Signal visibility exceeded 98%, and quantum bit error rate value was 1%. The achieved result is a record for this type of systems
Laser shadow and interferometric investigation of the structure and dynamics of plasma in PF-3 facility
The work presents the laser investigation of a plasma focus discharge in neon. This investigation was done in connection with the recently discussed possibility of the use of such type of discharges for the creation of the soft X-ray source and its application for the compression of the solid targets (liners). Some features of a plasma focus discharge in 2.8 MJ Plasma Focus such as a complicated structure of current-plasma sheath (CPS), its relation to soft X-ray (SXR) pulse emitted from a pinching region were studied by developed laser diagnostics.
Proximity effect at superconducting Sn-Bi2Se3 interface
We have investigated the conductance spectra of Sn-Bi2Se3 interface junctions
down to 250 mK and in different magnetic fields. A number of conductance
anomalies were observed below the superconducting transition temperature of Sn,
including a small gap different from that of Sn, and a zero-bias conductance
peak growing up at lower temperatures. We discussed the possible origins of the
smaller gap and the zero-bias conductance peak. These phenomena support that a
proximity-effect-induced chiral superconducting phase is formed at the
interface between the superconducting Sn and the strong spin-orbit coupling
material Bi2Se3.Comment: 7 pages, 8 figure
Heavy Quarks and Heavy Quarkonia as Tests of Thermalization
We present here a brief summary of new results on heavy quarks and heavy
quarkonia from the PHENIX experiment as presented at the "Quark Gluon Plasma
Thermalization" Workshop in Vienna, Austria in August 2005, directly following
the International Quark Matter Conference in Hungary.Comment: 8 pages, 5 figures, Quark Gluon Plasma Thermalization Workshop

Centrality Dependence of the High p_T Charged Hadron Suppression in Au+Au collisions at sqrt(s_NN) = 130 GeV
PHENIX has measured the centrality dependence of charged hadron p_T spectra
from central Au+Au collisions at sqrt(s_NN)=130 GeV. The truncated mean p_T
decreases with centrality for p_T > 2 GeV/c, indicating an apparent reduction
of the contribution from hard scattering to high p_T hadron production. For
central collisions the yield at high p_T is shown to be suppressed compared to
binary nucleon-nucleon collision scaling of p+p data. This suppression is
monotonically increasing with centrality, but most of the change occurs below
30% centrality, i.e. for collisions with less than about 140 participating
nucleons. The observed p_T and centrality dependence is consistent with the
particle production predicted by models including hard scattering and
subsequent energy loss of the scattered partons in the dense matter created in
the collisions.Comment: 7 pages text, LaTeX, 6 figures, 2 tables, 307 authors, resubmitted to

Single Electrons from Heavy Flavor Decays in p+p Collisions at sqrt(s) = 200 GeV
The invariant differential cross section for inclusive electron production in
p+p collisions at sqrt(s) = 200 GeV has been measured by the PHENIX experiment
at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider over the transverse momentum range $0.4
<= p_T <= 5.0 GeV/c at midrapidity (eta <= 0.35). The contribution to the
inclusive electron spectrum from semileptonic decays of hadrons carrying heavy
flavor, i.e. charm quarks or, at high p_T, bottom quarks, is determined via
three independent methods. The resulting electron spectrum from heavy flavor
decays is compared to recent leading and next-to-leading order perturbative QCD
calculations. The total cross section of charm quark-antiquark pair production
is determined as sigma_(c c^bar) = 0.92 +/- 0.15 (stat.) +- 0.54 (sys.) mb.Comment: 329 authors, 6 pages text, 3 figures. Submitted to Phys. Rev. Lett.
