    Magneto-optical properties of InSb for terahertz applications

    Magneto-optical permittivity tensor spectra of undoped InSb, n-doped and p-doped InSb crystals were determined using the terahertz time-domain spectroscopy (THz-TDS) and the Fourier transform far-infrared spectroscopy (far-FTIR). A Huge polar magneto-optical (MO) Kerr-effect (up to 20 degrees in rotation) and a simultaneous plasmonic behavior observed at low magnetic field (0.4 T) and room temperature are promising for terahertz nonreciprocal applications. We demonstrate the possibility of adjusting the the spectral rage with huge MO by increase in n-doping of InSb. Spectral response is modeled using generalized magneto-optical Drude-Lorentz theory, giving us precise values of free carrier mobility, density and effective mass consistent with electric Hall effect measurement.Web of Science611art. no. 11502

    International audienceLung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in France with low response rates to conventional chemotherapy. Nevertheless, new therapies have emerged recently, among which PD1 immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICI), such as nivolumab (OPDIVO®, Bristol-Myers Squibb) and pembrolizumab (KEYTRUDA®, Merck & Co), or PD-L1 ICI, such as atezolizumab (TECENTRIQ®, Genentech), durvalumab (IMFINZI®, Astra-Zeneca), and avelumab (BAVENCIO®, EMD Serono). The prescription of pembrolizumab for advanced stage non-small cell lung carcinoma (NSCLC) patients requires the demonstration of PD-L1 expression by tumor cells by immunohistochemistry (IHC) (minimum of 50% of positive tumor cells is required for first-line setting, and of 1% for second-line and beyond) and PD-L1 assay is now considered as a companion diagnostic tool for this drug. Numerous standardized PD-L1 assays performed on dedicated platforms have been validated in clinical trials, each antibody being associated to one specific PD1 or PD-L1 inhibitor. However, not all pathologists have access to the dedicated platforms and the high cost of these assays is still a limitation to their implementation; in addition, the small size of the NSCLC tumor samples does not allow to perform at the same time multiple assays for multiple drugs. The use of laboratory-developed tests seems feasible but their validation must guarantee the same sensitivities and specificities as standardized tests. In this context, the French group of thoracic pathologists PATTERN has teamed up with thoracic oncologists to provide recommendations on the indication, the critical technical steps and the interpretation of the PD-L1 IHC test to help pathologists to implement quickly and in the best conditions this new theranostic test

    Jean Abélanet peut être considéré comme le pionnier de l'archéologie actuelle sur les terres nord-catalanes. Ce rôle de précurseur dans la découverte de sites majeurs, mais aussi sa contribution savante à l'avancée des études préhistoriques, tant sur le mégalithisme en Pyrénées que sur l'art rupestre post-glaciaire en Europe occidentale, justifient l'hommage qui lui est rendu par la communauté des chercheurs. Cet hommage a pris la forme d'un colloque placé sous l'égide de l'Association Archéologique des Pyrénées-Orientales, dont il fut membre fondateur, et de l'Université de Perpignan, dont il fut le premier enseignant en Préhistoire. Sont rassemblées dans cet ouvrage les contributions de 74 auteurs et co-auteurs. Ces 576 pages, abondamment illustrées par près de 300 figures, abordent des sujets très divers qui reflètent les différents champs d'études balayés par son insatiable et humaniste curiosité. Une première partie, remontant aux sources des arts et des mythes, éclaire certains aspects de l'art rupestre et du mégalithisme, depuis leurs origines jusqu'à nos jours, à partir de recherches récentes menées dans l'Ancien monde, des terres australes d'Afrique jusqu'en Europe de l'Ouest. Le second thème, tout en laissant une large place à l'étude des arts et des traditions funéraires, rassemble des travaux pluridisciplinaires menés à l'orient des Pyrénées, travaux d'historiographie, de palynologie, de géologie, d'archéologie préhistorique et historique, d'histoire ou d'ethnologie

    7T Epilepsy Task Force Consensus Recommendations on the Use of 7T MRI in Clinical Practice

    International audienceIdentifying a structural brain lesion on MRI has important implications in epilepsy and is the most important factor that correlates with seizure freedom after surgery in patients with drug-resistant focal onset epilepsy. However, at conventional magnetic field strengths (1.5 and 3T), only approximately 60%–85% of MRI examinations reveal such lesions. Over the last decade, studies have demonstrated the added value of 7T MRI in patients with and without known epileptogenic lesions from 1.5 and/or 3T. However, translation of 7T MRI to clinical practice is still challenging, particularly in centers new to 7T, and there is a need for practical recommendations on targeted use of 7T MRI in the clinical management of patients with epilepsy. The 7T Epilepsy Task Force—an international group representing 21 7T MRI centers with experience from scanning over 2,000 patients with epilepsy—would hereby like to share its experience with the neurology community regarding the appropriate clinical indications, patient selection and preparation, acquisition protocols and setup, technical challenges, and radiologic guidelines for 7T MRI in patients with epilepsy. This article mainly addresses structural imaging; in addition, it presents multiple nonstructural MRI techniques that benefit from 7T and hold promise as future directions in epilepsy. Answering to the increased availability of 7T MRI as an approved tool for diagnostic purposes, this article aims to provide guidance on clinical 7T MRI epilepsy management by giving recommendations on referral, suitable 7T MRI protocols, and image interpretation

    EOSC-Life Report on the work of the Open Call Projects

    This Deliverable 3.3 is a report on the Digital Life Sciences Open Call and two Internal Calls organised by EOSC-Life WP3. The organisation of these Calls followed the successful integration and support of 8 Demonstrator projects&nbsp;which provided the first concrete use cases in the initial phase of EOSC-Life. The three Calls overall supported 11 scientific user projects, selected to facilitate integration of concrete use-cases across Life Sciences domains into the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC)&nbsp;framework. Through the Calls, the practical goal was to facilitate co-creation of an open, digital collaborative space for life science research by developing FAIR&nbsp;tools, workflows, resources, infrastructures, and guidelines together with the EOSC-Life RIs experts and communities. We report in this Deliverable the following achievements: Organisation of the EOSC-Life Open and Internal Calls; Integrating and training the EOSC-Life WP3 Open Call&nbsp;and Internal Call&nbsp;project teams in EOSC-Life; Activities for connecting project teams with EOSC-Life and LS-RI communities and dissemination of projects outcomes to broader communities; Work done in the individual projects, their results, and impact of developed resources; Recommendations from the EOSC-Life WP3 project teams and the EOSC-Life community for future Open Calls. </ol
