New determination of the - axial form factors from weak pion production and coherent pion production off nuclei at T2K and MiniBooNE energies revisited
We re-evaluate our model predictions in Phys. Rev. D 79, 013002 (2009) for
different observables in neutrino induced coherent pion production. This comes
as a result of the new improved fit to old bubble chamber data of the dominant
axial C_5^A nucleon-to-Delta form factor. We find an increase of 20%-30% in the
values for the total cross sections. Uncertainties induced by the errors in the
determination of C_5^A are computed. Our new results turn out to be compatible
within about with the former ones. We also stress the existing
tension between the recent experimental determination of the \sigma(CC coh
\pi^+)}/\sigma(NC coh \pi^0)} $ ratio by the SciBooNE Collaboration and the
theoretical predictions.Comment: 3 latex pages, 1 figure. Talk given at the NuFact10 Conferenc
Neutrino induced coherent pion production
We discuss different parameterizations of the axial
form factor, fitted to the old Argonne bubble chamber data for pion production
by neutrinos, and we use coherent pion production to test their low
behavior. We find moderate effects that will be difficult to observe with the
accuracy of present experiments. We also discuss the use of the Rein-Sehgal
model for low energy coherent pion production. By comparison to a microscopic
calculation, we show the weaknesses of some of the approximations in that model
that lead to very large cross sections as well as to the wrong shapes for
differential ones. Finally we show that models based on the partial
conservation of the axial current hypothesis are not fully reliable for
differential cross sections that depend on the angle formed by the pion and the
incident neutrino.Comment: Talk given at NUFACT09. 6 latex pages, 7 figures, 1 tabl
Watson's theorem and the axial transition
We present a new determination of the axial form factors from
neutrino induced pion production data. For this purpose, the model of Hernandez
{\it et al.} [Phys. Rev. D76, 033005 (2007)] is improved by partially restoring
unitarity. This is accomplished by imposing Watson's theorem on the dominant
vector and axial multipoles. As a consequence, a larger , in good
agreement with the prediction from the off-diagonal Goldberger-Treiman
relation, is now obtained.Comment: 17 latex pages, 7 figures, 2 tables. Some typos correcte
Production of Two Pions Induced by Neutrinos
We study the threshold production of two pions induced by neutrinos in
nucleon targets. The contribution of nucleon pole, pion and contact terms is
calculated using a chiral Lagrangian. The contribution of the Roper resonance,
neglected in earlier studies, has also been taken into account.Comment: Contribution to the proceedings of Chiral07, RCNP, Osaka, Japan.

AbstractProfessional profiles of graduates from the health areas, and particularly those from nursing, require adjustments in order to meet the complex interactions which social needs and labor market characteristics demand. This situation creates the need to identify strengths and weaknesses in the formation of these graduates. By systematizing and continuously improving their studies, a successful incorporation and development into the complex labor markets is more likely to be achieved.ObjectiveTo describe the opinion which the nursing graduates from the Tlaxcala Autonomous University have on the congruency of the curricular contents and the working requirements while providing professional care.Materials and methodsDescriptive and transversal study which included 84 graduates from 3 generations who were selected by random simple sampling, and which used a structured and convenient questionnaire following the 1998 ANUIES proposal organized in 6 dominions.Results87% of the participants opined the curricular contents are congruent with the activities they do while providing care; 86% perceive satisfaction with their knowledge; 85% consider they are well fit regarding labor; 95% consider their working performance relevant; 66% are hired into the Health Sector's 2nd and 3rd levels of attention.ConclusionsThere is congruency between the curricular contents and their professional performance; the graduates are mainly located within the assisting areas of the 2nd and 3rd levels of attention; they feel satisfied with their knowledge and perceive labor acceptance
How Mediterranean Deciduous Trees Cope with Long Summer Drought? The Case of Quercus pyrenaica Forests in Western Spain.
The functional characteristics of Mediterranean deciduous trees provide an interesting model for
investigating adaptative mechanisms to drought, useful to understand future changes of northern forests
in scenery of climate change. In this article we analyse how a Mediterranean deciduous oak, Quercus
pyrenaica, with a short vegetative period coincident with summer drought, cope with water deficit in
that period. We revised published data on temporal dynamic of soil moisture and physiological status of
tree leaves of several forest stands of Central–Western Spain and discuss the significance of soil water
reserve and deep rooting system on the maintenance of tree transpiration and physiological activity of
the trees along summer drought. Results revealed that (i) Q. pyrenaicaoak is only slightly water-limited
during summer drought, (ii) Q. pyrenaicaoaks depend on thick weathered, porous bedrocks, and (iii) Q.
pyrenaicais a well-performing deciduous oak to cope with increasing summer drought.Peer reviewe
