Western Balkans’ Banking Sector Performance in Terms of Macroeconomic and Bank Specific Efficiency Determinants
The main objective of this study is to analyze banking efficiency and productivity considering evidences from Western Balkan countries in pre crisis, during and the recovery period. Referring to the historic background and the transformations suffered, the WB countries have developed bank based financial structure so the soundness of the banking sector is significantly important for the stability and progress of their economies on the long run. The problems faced by the last recession, the deteriorated macroeconomic indicators and weak, inefficient banking sector translated in slow recovery rates, encouraged this study. Prior studies have been mainly focused in causes and effects of crisis in different sectors of economies while this paper presents relations and dependencies between the macroeconomic and bank specific efficiency determinants. The methodology used is the comparison between countries and as method the financial ratio analysis, intending the presentation of trends and evaluation of changes in efficiency, profitability and performance indicators during 2000-2007 comparing with 2008-2013. Results that the banking sector profitability indicators follow the same negative trend with the economic growth rates and the recovery rates are lower than the forecasted. The results can be used by performance monitors to better identify vulnerabilities and examine uncertainties/risks

An analysis of key factors affecting New Town Planning with a human-centred approach
Since new towns are to meet the needs of the metropolitan population, it is required to acquaint the populations with the new scientific-technical methods and take one more step towards civilisation. Given that the New Town seeks to provide the latest facilities for citizens, a human-oriented approach can be proposed. New Urbanism with a humanistic approach requires coherent and dynamic planning. New structures and the various needs of the New Towns require comprehensive and integrated planning to utilise recent facilities to lead New Towns toward a human-centred attitude. Therefore, the main purpose of this study is to analyse the key factors affecting the planning of New Towns with a humanistic approach. The method in this research is a descriptive-analytical survey. In the first step of the research, a list of primary factors involved in planning new cities was identified as research variables, using documentary sources and previous research. Then the research variables were analysed based on the Delphi method. Accordingly, 34 variables were provided in five domains for 50 experts in urban planning issues in the form of questionnaires to be analysed in matrices. The findings of the study are demonstrated in five aspects: cultural-social, physicalspatial, economic, environmental, and governance topics, with 34 components. The results show that citizenship rights, social capital, transparency, accountability, law, participation, consensus, quality of performance and managerial effectiveness, efficiency, economic welfare, sustainable active economy, meeting economic needs, quality of texture, and spirituality have the highest impact and the lowest affectedness on the realisation of human-centred New Urbanism. The results can be useful and effective by establishing integrity and fundamental theoretical principles in planning, implementation and strategic control of New Towns.Since new towns are to meet the needs of the metropolitan population,it is required to acquaint the populations with the new scientific-technicalmethods and take one more step towards civilisation. CANINE EPIDIDYMAL SPERMATOZOA: CHARACTERISTICS, COLLECTION AND CRYOPRESERVATION.
Epididymal spermatozoa represent the only source of genetic material when the
male dies unexpectedly or undergoes orchiectomy for medical reasons. Yet, in
individuals of high genetic or emotional value that cannot mate or ejaculate semen, the
collection of spermatozoa from in situ epididymides might be an option to obtain
progeny.
The aims of the studies presented here were to describe the characteristics of
spermatozoa collected from the different regions of the epididymis (caput, corpus, and
cauda) and to investigate the feasibility of percutaneous epididymal sperm aspiration
(PESA) in dogs. Furthermore, the preservation of DNA integrity in canine epididymal
frozen spermatozoa and the potential protective effect of the antioxidant melatonin on
post-thaw sperm quality were evaluated.
Overall results showed that canine epididymal spermatozoa undergo several
modifications in the epididymis, leading to mature cells which are stored in the
epididymal cauda. From this site, spermatozoa can be retrieved by PESA and the quality
of the sperm population is similar to that of spermatozoa collected in vitro, although a
wide variation amongst animals was observed.
The cryopreservation of epididymal spermatozoa showed that the DNA integrity
is well preserved, but a protective effect of melatonin on post-thaw sperm quality has
not been demonstrated.
The DNA stability after thawing is particularly relevant for epididymal
spermatozoa which potential use in assisted reproductive techniques is mainly after
storage. However, other sperm characteristics as motility and acrosomal integrity are
compromised by freezing and further investigations should be focused on their
preservation

Jednostavna metoda za optimalan odabir stupnja hibridizacije (DOH) u paralelnim putničkim hibridnim automobilima
In this paper, a simple but efficient Non-dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm (NSGA) II based technique is proposed for optimizing the Degree of Hybridization (DOH) in parallel passenger hybrid cars. The authors\u27 objective is to improve performance, maximize fuel economy and at the same time, minimize mass and emissions as much as possible, by optimal selection of DOH. The NSGA-II, which is a multi-objective optimization algorithm, is applied to optimize this multiple objective problem. The ADvanced VehIcle SimulatOR (ADVISOR) software is used as simulation tool. To validate high efficiency of proposed methodology, necessary simulations have been carried out on a small-size test car. The results indicates that the proposed methodology is very fast and efficient and can be well applied to any other types of Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEVs).U radu je predložena jednostavna i efikasna metoda zasnovana na nedominirano-sortirajućem genetičkom algoritmu (NSGA) II u svrhu optimiranja stupnja hibridizacije (DOH) u paralelnim putničkim hibridnim automobilima.
